After 9 years following it (with hiatuses between readings), I find out 8-Bit Theater has reached it's final chapter.
I'm amazed it lasted so long, but knowing there will be no more comics from now on feels just... sad.
-
Lost interest in 8-bit theater a while ago. Real men read dinosaur comics.

The problem with a comic that's gone on as long as 8BT is that you can never keep track of where you're up to, and by the time you remember it again, it's updated like a thousand issues.
How many strips are there now, anyway? I would read through the archives, but it would take DAYS.
-
There are about 1200 comics I believe.
And in the end he updated every Sunday or so, except the last comic which was "meh".
The entire thing was masterfully done though. So nothing to complain about, but nowdays I'm down to checking 2 webcomics each day instead - that's kinda sad.
-
I agree with the 'meh' ending. It'd be better without the prologue.
Well, sadness is gone, which must be a record. Usually when someting I really like finishes I mop for like, 3 days.
-
Epilogue. Epilogues go at the end of things.
Sad to hear a staple of the internet go.
Though I never followed it, it did have on of my favourite foreshadowing moments that I found out through TVTropes. He made one comic which was spoken from past perspective, and then ignored it for 5 years until the storyline caught up to it. Crazy stuff.

You have very clean floors then.
All in all the series was grand, and I did not see the ending coming (The longest joke set-up I've ever seen.) However, I'm still trying to decide if I'm upset with the ending itself, or the fact that it ended. It became a habit to read the series every week.

lol mop
I like the epilogue. It doesn't add anything really, but it's a good last look at stuff, and in actual artistic detail too. I would have never pegged white mage as having short hair.
-
Yeah, I followed it. This is what happens when something goes on after it stops being your main concern. It was magnificent in its prime but it just kind of petered out. It's a shame.

Let's not forget the four White Mages joke (http://www.nuklearpower.com/2001/03/20/episode-007-kamehameha-or-something/) nine years later. (http://www.nuklearpower.com/2010/02/20/episode-1221-longest-set-up-in-webcomic-history/)

But yeah, I followed it. Got pretty sad when it ended. No more awesome webcomics for me to follow.
Kid Radd / Captain SNES for sprite.
Axe Cop / Doctor McNinja for handrawn
Xkcd for sticky figures
