So beta for stencyl is in full forward motion. Ive since been added as an official team member, and am participating in quite a few projects as a general graphics guy. Stencyl has a toolset specifically designed to make it easier for game developers to connect with other developers and collaborate on projects...this means graphics-guys and code-guys and music-guys can be matched up, share projects, send files directly and chat via some features Im not really supposed to discus.
Honestly, all of the coolest stuff about stencyl, I wont be able to discuss publicly for a while...but Ill be sure to let you guys know.
As a result of this, Ive been working with other members of Team stencyl to produce a line of public beta release titles....Sometimes this happens in the form of a game-jam...sometimes as a collab, and some as solo projects.
Ive now particpated in two collaborative efforts, working as the Graphics, music and co-creator of one title, and Graphics designer on another.
Im going to post my Stencyl works here. For now, theyll have to be posted as links...the Stencyl embed code will not currently function on external sites
EPIC BASS FISHING

Use the arrows to move your boat, and left click to cast your lure.
Hold down left click to reel in, but watch the tension gauge

Play this. It was made in under ten days by myself and a fella over at Stencyl by the name of HNF.
Still a bit of polishing up to do tomorrow morning....but if you can play this, then do so

I just played it for about 20 minutes. This is a pretty cool game, dude. Good work.
-
Does Stencyl work yet? I'm confused. I'll try this out though :)
-
It works. Quite well. Im finding it way easier to get **** done then with other game makers....especially since....****....Im not supposed to talk about how awesome it is. Basically, its built with collaboration in mind.
Were in the tail end of private beta. A plan is in motion to make it public.Open beta is coming soon.

Ahhhh... I understand now! Please, give me the possibilities to make a side-scroller game similar to Castlevania. I will
kiss you... and make you a better sig! :D
-
Ah heck yeah dude. Platformers are super simple.
RUn and Gun and Beat 'em up kits are on the way...they plug into the platformer kit. Or you could make the system from scratch, with about the same amount of work as it would take to make a Fairly Simple CBS in 2k3.
Seriously, you can do anything 2-D with this. Eventually, there will even be multiplayer support (allthough its pretty far off for now...Jons got a lot of stuff on his plate...I dont think Multiplayer is high on his to-do list with beta still private.)
Edit: This signature stays until either I die, get permabanned, or charas goes down for the big blue sleep.
-
This looks awesome.
And the sig is staying.
-
Amazing!! I can't wait to make a Viewtiful Joe/Castlevania mash-up! (That's technically
the perfect idea for a game!)
-
Looks very nice, although I wasn't sure what to do at first.
Only one thing I noticed. Did you want the back of the boat to move up and down when you are going right and left, or was that a graphical error?
-
nope.....Like I said, still have some minor polishing to do.
-
Update for Robichai
-
oh man.....that just made my day dude.
-
Theres not much to see here but the one screen, with no real funtionality aside from the text changes colour when selected. Im excited for the visual style of it though.

I can't trust you with your word about that. Horror game + promises of nothing happening usually leads to heart attacks.
-
I promise, its safe. There is nothing that could sneak out at you yet. However, Im working hard on the core mechanics of things, and soon, there will be brix shat.
-
Holy ****, Gemini. The tutorials for this program are unbelievably crisp and well made. It's so easy to use, but is bursting
with potential. I'm really excited. I'm using it as we speak! :D
-
I KNOW RIGHT!!!
EDIT
Add me as a chat buddy.
