New Trailer for Devil May Cry.
Made more Western because of DMC4 sold poorly.
So thoughts? I'm curious cause going more western to increase sells just seems kind of like a bad idea or maybe I'm still just horrified by when Persona was westernized.
Plus seeing as this is a gaming forum some of have had to play one of DMC games at some point.

What turns me off is that this Dante reminds me too much of that main character from No More Heroes, and the forced graffiti logo. As long as the gameplay's as good as the first 3 were, I don't see any real problem.

Increasing sales by making it more "western" will probably NOT increase sales.
The main reason why the Devil May Cry series was so popular was because of it's flashy, overblown style.
This still looks flashy and overblown, but in an entirely different, alienating style.
Plus, I think the prospect of rebooting an entire franchise (a 9 year old one, at that) because of shitty sales in ONE product is phenomenally retarded.

metal gear, fallout, etc. Im sure its going to do dismal things for mickey mouse as well when epic mickey comes out. Final Fantasy 7 was a pathetic attempt to reboot a classic game model.
Comic books suffer this as well. Rebooting did nothing good for batman, the Avengers, Ironman, The Incredible Hulk.

Actually, it does.
A reboot is starting the series anew, ignoring past installments, not simply changing it's gameplay. That's why Mario Kart is not a reboot of Super Mario Bros.

Gameplay was pretty much what you'd get if you modernised Metal Gear 2 a bit, and put it in 3D. The gameplay is pretty much the same. And of course the graphics were updated, you can't really sell a game with MSX2 graphics. Anyway, as Grandy said, reboot generally means they are starting the series anew and disregarding prior installments.

A fag is a fag. A fag is a useless person. A man that cant pull his own weight. I throw the word fag around like crazy, not in a "HAY HAY HAY SISTER" way....In a "quit being a fag" way. I encourage everyone else to do the same. THe word itself is not derrogatory against gays. Political correctness added this connotation to the word.
Way back in the day, homos got gang beat for being gay. The ones that were unfortunate enough to not have a closet to hide in, were usually pretty effeminate and limp wristed and girly. Couldnt put in a hard days work. You know....faggots.

To say that homophobia is solely caused by religion is a tad hasty. Yes, some people are homophobic because of their religious background, but others are homophobic for cultural, historical or psychological reasons outside of religion.

I've known atheists who are homophobes, and even ranted about how they wished they wouldn't propagate them in TV. They were my roomates in college.
I don't think the "acceptance" is in belief, but rather psyche. Like all phobias.

No actually, I'm an atheist and I find that gays are as normal as non gays. Really, the only reason that there is any sort of homophobia in our society nowdays, is religion. No matter how hard I think, I cannot think of any other reason for its existence.
Pretty short-sighted. Think about it like this. I'm a guy. I have a sexual interest in women. I don't have a sexual interest in other guys. I can't really understand people that do, partially because I'm not wired that way, and the thought of having such an interest is more than a little unpleasant for me. I like to avoid unpleasant things. People that have unpleasant interests may try to push those unpleasant interests on me, and that makes me uncomfortable.
That, I think, is the extent of the rational argument, and it's basically hard-coded into our biology so I don't feel terribly guilty about feeling that way. I've had gay and bi friends, and on the most part they're completely in every way like a normal friend, except when certain subjects come up it tends to get real awkward.
The irrational argument is that people with such unpleasant interests are evil / immortal / "wrong" and should be punished / thrown out of society / killed / whatever to prevent them from spreading or otherwise weirding people out. And I soooort of see where this kind of mindset is coming from, but I think that we're supposed to be living in an enlightened, liberal, "do whatever you want as long as it don't tread on me, man" type age, and people's bedroom habits in other houses are definitely none of my business.
In any event, none of that sort of thinking has the slimmest bit to do with religion.

I actually never played neither 1 or 2. A bit too late to try that now. Really doubt that I'll find them anywere.
That's why I like the wii store. I can get both Zelda OoT and MM for just 2000 wii points. Old games available for anyone instead of trying to find a decent emulator and play it on a computer with 0 feeling.

Kinda. Not so awesome, though. You know, I do like the fact that you can create characters, but having some created character in story or arcade mode is... I don't know, I personally don't like this. Preferred when it was SC Characters only. I do like it, though. Even if I plain suck. Wish Dampierre will eventually be added as a downloadable character...

SC4 had a Story mode?
Yeah.... like 5 "stages" with useless/random dialogue and different paths depending on the character's "alignment".
I loved both story modes of SC3 though. "Tales of the sword" and whatever the more cannon-one was called.
And clearly the koffings inhale the gas of a different gendered poison-type pokemon and drops 'em egg at the daycare.

I don't know double standards like that piss me of like its a offensive word unless "they" use it (it's always offensive). My current girlfriend like a year ago would call her friends when joking around a chink and her friends would also (she is asian btw) but she did stop doing it eventually, but what I hate more is when people say "That's so gay" referring to anything they dislike.

Youre being called a fag because youre a fag. Not because people think you are gay. When I call people a fag, its in no way a reflection of their sexuality. I call some of my friends "Fag" but None of my friends are gay. Im about the only gay guy in my social circle. Dont make it sound like Im contributing to the perpetuation of hate-speak. I use the word a certain way...the proper way. Its people with your viewpoint that have even managed to keep the stigma of sexuality attached to this word. Its not a sexuality statement. If I use the term fag - I do it to show my disslike with a person or anything. And by saying fag I'm not talking about homosexuals.
