Seriously, I challenge you to find a more defiantly idiotic community on the internet. Besides us.
Every single Yahoo news article, regardless of content, will get a slew of responses that run the gamut of "Barack bin Obama is a Kenyan" to "This country is going straight to hell because we have TURNED OUR BACKS ON THE WORD OF GOD!!!" Only with way more spelling errors.
If said article -- god forbid -- contains a black person, expect an endless volley of comments so racist that they'd make Mel Gibson blush.
If a comment isn't offensive, it's just dull and ditzy. In response to an article on a child molester, someone posted "People who do that to children are perverted!" Ya don't say.
Is the Yahoo community supposed to [deeeep breath...] be representative of the country as a whole? Is the Tea Party movement forcing its members to sign up for Yahoo accounts? What's going on here?

The Game Maker Community can be pretty retarded at times, but for completely different reasons.

Most communities are pathetically poor. The internet, if nothing else, has shown me how low the bar is when it comes to expressing yourself with civility and tact. Hell, even as an enginneer, I get emails and notices with countless spelling and punctuation errors, and these are from the educated part of society!
I'm not perfect, but at least I put in the effort to try, darn it! u dont se me typing like thsi and aktualy its kind of hard and slwer to do so 4 me at this point

When it slowly dawned on me that 1/100 amateur games actually gets finished, and about 1/10 of those are worth playing, I stopped caring at all about credits. At least I'm consistant though - anyone can take anything I do without needing to credit it. I really don't care. Go have fun. If and when you actually release something with sprites of mine in it, no doubt my style and skills will have improved way past that point where it's useful to me anyway.

I'm only using three different things that I personally didn't make in Kyoob, so at least credits are easy this time around.

I'm at this point too. Of course, I do make spelling mistakes, but most are due to me typing too fast and accidentally pressing nearby keys.
I try using only my stuff in RPG Maker games, and thats why I always fail. x)
Well, I failed even when using other people's stuff... so it's not all that bad.
Also, I consider Charas a well educated and respectful community compared to most others.

It's not sarcasm. It's totally not sarcasm. Look, the TK wars were wacky, but I had nearly the entire forum up in arms against me by the end of them. I *did* resign shortly thereafter and let Moose and Razor take over for a few years, you know. I always justified it to myself by saying that, whatever bad things I did or bad decisions I made, it was worth it if there was ever an era when Charas totally forgot about trolls whipping up a storm on the forums and could just chill.
And now I'm getting all weird and nostalgic so I'll just STFU about the whole thing.
