Number 2. How many of you guys heard about this last year? A handful of indie game developers decided to make a pack of their games, sell them, and let you name your price. On top of that, you get to decide how the money will be divided between developers, the Child's Play charity, or the Electronic Frontier Foundation. Well, they're doing another one this year. There's a nifty video on the site that explains what all is going on with lame voice-overs. I'm planning on buying the pack and putting it all towards charity. Take a look, do whatever, spend more than $1, and so on.

Cortex Command, the game that will never, ever, ever get updated. Anyway, I'll get this when I have something more substantial than 2 dollars to give.
-
This is such a great idea. Glad to see they're revitalising it!
-
Braid alone is worth spending like ten bucks on.
-
I have Braid on Steam, but I still bought the bundle. Interestingly, my save from the Steam version carried over to the standalone version somehow. I am very impressed.
Cortex Command is possibly the most frustrating game I have ever played. After playing the tutorial I tried that one scenario where you kill some crabs and then a boss crab, on the easiest difficulty. The small crabs were no problem, but then the boss crab would spawn, fly across the screen and destroy my brain. I realised that it would be easy to defeat if I called in some more soldiers. Thus, I selected some decent troops equipped with ideal crab-killing gear, and called them in.
The rocket came down, dropped off the troops, then crashed down on top of them. All were killed. My brain was destroyed in the explosion.
I do not want to play any more.

Cortex command is essentially a sandbox game to me. Mod the **** out of it and just dick around.
Anyway, couldn't care less about Osmos and Braid, but the other three games interest me a lot.
-
I already have Braid on Xbox, but I payed $20 anyway. I likely won't even play the other games.
-
Cortex Command is great fun and Machinarium is supposedly excellent. Play them. Osmos is pretty awful.
-
Seems like a good cause. Apenny for your thoughts
-
Also, fun fact worth noting; if you pay some obscenely low amount of money like 1 cent, they're just going to lose money to processing fees. See Archem's sig.
-
I decided to give Cortex Command another try.
It's still frustrating, but waiting for a dropship to drop off its passengers then shooting out one of its jets with the Heavy Sniper Rifle and watching it spiral down out of control and crush the soldiers is utterly brilliant.
-
Yeah, it's great for ridiculous moments like that. Have a look into the mod release section on their forum (http://forums.datarealms.com/viewforum.php?f=61) at some point, there's some brilliant stuff there.
Edit: Keep in mind that the more mods you add, the longer it'll take to load. Gets pretty noticable after a while.

Decided to go with 15 bucks on this - 10 for the devs and 5 for the people running the site. I believe charity giving should be a very personal matter and don't just throw money at them because it's "a charity." But that's just me.
-
Hey, I'm a big fan of Child's Play. I love what they do, so I don't have even a slight problem handing my hard-earned cash over.
-
Well if that's a charity you know of and support, then that's also a personal matter, and I'm glad you chose to support them. :)
