So, since I'm not from where you live and because some people don't even celebrate this tradition each year.
What do you guys do for christmas?
Personally, I like to put up a star shaped lamp of some sorts in my bedroom window that shines in christmassy colours.
Watching all three lord of the rings movies during the christmas days.
Starts wearing more red colours(especially on christmas).
Get happy since a christmas break is coming up.
I also bake gingerbread and buy presents for the family.

We get a huge christmas ham over here and smelly fish. Also meatballs and small sausages. With some other additions like potatoes and small bottles of spirits.
I'm going to assume that it isn't an international tradition at least.

Our Christmas dinner is usually pot roast, noodles, egg rolls, ham, cranberry sauce, scallop potatoes, rice, salmon, baked greens, shrimp, and then leche flan (http://www.socypath.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/leche-flan.jpg), ice cream, apple pie, pumpkin pie.
We go to church, pet the animals (they bring donkeys and stuff to the church), watch the children's christmas pageant, come back, eat dinner, watch Hockey reruns, open gifts, and then the relatives go home. Then my dad turns down the heat and me and my sisters huddle in a corner on the couch shivering and eating chocolate.
Then the next morning (christmas day) we go to the movie theatre all together, say hi to all the Jews, watch a movie (used to be the Lord of the Rings but now we can't do that) then go home and shiver more.

Because apparently the proper name for one of Jewish decent is racist, because WWII.

I fly home for Christmas for a week with the folks. Since I usually end up flying on the 23rd, one of these days I'm going to spend my birthday in an airport having missed a fight. Sooner or later >_>

Ahem.
My family wakes up early, and they shake me from my slumber so they can all open their Xmas presents. I get a few things, but nothing really spectacular. Then my dad makes enchiladas. My mom sits in the living room and watches TV (no whiteys allowed). We eat, I go back to my regular regiment of browsing the web, end of story.

I normally try to keep my own tradition of telling everyone save for a few people a well placed lie, stating that Ill be going on a trip over the Holidays, then I buy some beers, a bottle of Glenlivet, and a big bag of marijuana, and get shitass drunk with a friend or two.
This year I got sucked into the childhood tradition of going to my folks place. Which wouldnt be so bad (I can do all of the above mnetioned things with my Dad easily enough after my sister goes to bed) except that the following day Ive been guilted into spending with the more external branches of the family, consisting of a rather rad bunch, save for one rather bigotted and homophobic Aunt, Uncle, and set of cousins. Im no flamer or anything, and have no intent of preaching, or even opening my mouth in general in their presence unless its to say "Happy holidays" Or "Pass me a napkin please?". But they are possibly the most akward, passive-agressive, uneducated yet opinionated family I know of. Im going to liisten to them talk about foggots getting married, and how the USA shoulod just bomb every country ever, and give me wierd looks for not having a job in a conventional sense of the word.
"What do you mean you dont have a job?"
"Im an artist. I do work, I just dont have a job"
"What, how do you pay rent then?"
"I live off of the subsitence allowance within my grant funding"
"So what, are you on welfare or something?"
"No, the government pays me to be an artist."
"So you dont work, and the Government pays your rent. Sounds like welfare to me"

*Akward silence* They all know about my mansex thing, but we dont talk about it. This is the part where they want me to go off on a homo rant about how gay I am, like they do in the movies or TV. Ill say nothing though, because Im not that guy at all, and the room will be akward some more.

Oh and on Christmas day, we go to my grandmother's house where we eat Christmas things, such as turkey and all.

Every christmas day, most of my extended family goes off to my grandmother's place. I like most of my family, except for one of the families within it who **** me up the wall. They're sports mad, the dad used to be a professional football player, and they seem to see me as an invalid person or something because I don't play sport. Every Christmas, it's this; "So, played any sport this year?". You know the answer to that question, stop asking it.
Oh and I have to put up with my grandmother and the other vearious females of my family bitching about my sister, who's mildy agoraphobic, not showing up at Christmas. She knows full well that they bitch about her constantly, so I can't hardly blame her. The whole agrophobia thing doesn't help either.
Anyway, bitchy rant over, and for the record, the rest of my family is pretty rad.

We don't have Eggnog in Brazil. I have no idea how it tastes like. Yay.
Also, about Xmas presents. We open them at midnight here. Sometimes earlier in one of my grandmothers's house, because there are a lot of little kids who get to tired to wait until midnight.
We used to wait til midnight but we stopped doing that.

Eggnog is the ****. You don't have to spike it, but it's a pretty common practice.

Basically, all month our folks ask us what we want for Xmas, we tell them we don't know. Halfway through, we remember something we could use, then tell them. Then, on Christmas day, we wake up, open our loads of candy and new MP3 players (obligatory), then head back upstairs and play video games until the ham is done.

Oh, I get a fantasy novel every christmas morning as well.
Just too bad that I never get the sequels...

The whole country does it here, pretty much. Don't think anyone opens them on the next morning.
My immediate family opens our gifts that morning. The extended family parties, when we used to have them, opened them up in the evenings the night before.Wake up my parents at 4:30 in the morning, "for old times' sake."
Haha, good times. I used to get my folks up at 6 cuz I used to have so much trouble sleeping. Now they're getting me up at 11 cuz they want to get on with it :D

Sauerkraut soup and chicken and schnitzel and cookies and cranberry sauce and potato salad and more food.

GodDAMMIT! We don't get German food anywhere around here! (We do eat homemade Italian sausage. Our Christmas dinner tradition.)

Schnitzel is really easy to make yourself. Just take a pork chop or chicken chop, take a meat hammer at it for 5 minutes.
Crack an egg or two and mix the yolk with the white until you get a gooey yellow thing, then dip the chop in and roll it around in bread crumbs after.
Then fry away on some oil (olive oil is easy to use, and probably healthier than most)
