Merry christmas.

And I mean it. It's not one of those half-assed obligatory "Merry Christmas" people say because it's polite. I really do wish you have a Chirstmas that is, in fact, Merry.

The Santa Tracker reports smooth sailing for Santa. Can't wait to see if that fat bastard got me the Radio Flyer I asked him for.

This is going to sound really cheesy and/or lame and I think in hindsight I may regret it because people will laugh at me, but bear with me because it's Christmas.

Even though we're a world away from each other and will probably never meet, I'm really thankful to be a part of this community. Where else could a bunch of Americans, Canadians, British, a Swede, a Brazilian, Mexican, and (invisible omnipresent harpist) Italian, all meet, become friends for six years, and all without leaving their rooms? I really think we have something special, and (it being Christmas and all) I just wanted to say that I'm really thankful that Charas is here.  And by Charas I mean us- our community (however small). Yeah, keep laughing -__-. But really, sometimes high school was so tough and this place was always (more or less) safe- to speak your mind, talk about things you liked without getting ridiculed or made fun of, and even making mistakes and acting like a brat sometimes. Even when we're dumb we're there for each other, and it just...yeah I dunno where I'm going with this. I guess I just wanted to say thanks. You mean a lot to me. And Merry Christmas you crazy floating island.

Jeez zerl, stop gaying up the place. I hate you.

...jk *melts*

In all honesty, I kind of been feeling like this for a while.

without getting ridiculed or made fun of

Zerls, although I legitimate feel around about the same as you, this statement is misleading.

But we are not to take things here seriously anyway. Except for ben's whimsy insults.

And happy easter.

I wish that we all could eventually have a Charas convention. Bahaha.  This is probably one of the tightest rpg maker communities around, and I'm glad to be part of it.  Could you imagine what it would be like if we all got together?  It would be chaos. Haha

Well we're not kids anymore. Maybe we all could?

Perhaps.  Probably would have to wait until most of us are out of college anyway.

But where would it be?
Title: Re: happy xmes to one and all
Post by: Zerlina on December 26, 2010, 10:24:50 PM
We plot everyone on a map and then find a location based on that combined with airfare charges...GW had a meeting two years ago that I went to- it actually worked.

Maybe Eastern Canada or U.S. so that the Europeans aren't as far? I would suggest Eastern Canada because flying to the U.S. is a huge hassle for people outside of the U.S. due to the security. Also our east coast is ridiculously beautiful, full of red sand beaches, mountains, trees, old viking settlements, celtic music and stuff.

I wouldn't mind traveling to Canada.  Haha.  How was the GW one Zerlina?
Title: Re: happy xmes to one and all
Post by: Zerlina on December 26, 2010, 11:48:02 PM
A little further west we also have Quebec City which the Europeans probably won't enjoy so much as the Americans. Pretty much- it's the last walled city in North America and looks like the 17th century
http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&source=imghp&biw=1278&bih=616&q=quebec+city&gbv=2&aq=f&aqi=g10&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=

Also the gw meet was good. We had dumplings but then I sort of wandered off and couldn't find them again.

Yep, screw the south americans. :P

But it does sounds pretty.

It'd probably be cheaper than trying to fly into the US.

I'm pretty sure any part of Canada is far from Brazil. haha  What part of Brazil do you live in?  The western part I'm assuming?
Title: Re: happy xmes to one and all

Southwestern, I think.

Uhm, a meeting with Charas people, eh? That would actually be nice, yes. Even though I personally wouldn't have much to say, as usual... =(
Title: Re: happy xmes to one and all
Post by: fruckert on December 27, 2010, 03:11:26 AM
That would be really awesome, but I'm kind of in a weird spot.
Not like, Southwestern Brazil weird, but I'm far enough away from everybody that it would be a couple hours worth of flying.

(I live in Warshington)
(I say it with an R because for some reason that's an accent over here)

Well, I don't think your trip would be too bad.  I think the people with the worst are going to be people who live on a completely different continent.
Title: Re: happy xmes to one and all
Post by: Zerlina on December 27, 2010, 06:03:50 AM
Yeah the Europeans, Lucas, and Grandy. For us to fly around within CA and US isn't very hard- well it's not easy, but it's not like the others have it. A charas meeting...we'd have to wear nametags with avatars or I'd never remember who was who.

No, it wouldn't be in comparison.
It would just be annoying as hell, considering how bad TSA has been lately.

This would be fun as hell though.

There's just the little issue that one of our core members can't speak English (http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r125/fruckert/mspa_face-1.png).
And the little monetary issue.

If we knew about it long in advance (like a year) we could put money away...

We could totally get Lucas a Etch-A-Sketch.

we'd have to wear nametags with avatars or I'd never remember who was who.
We have a picture thread for a reason. Get to memorizing.

Although, my startlingly suave personality would make it easy to tell who I am, anyway. It's not something I can control; I'm just so great and stuff.

Also I have some other friends in canada; wouldn't be such a bad idea.

I've travelled to other countries already. I just need the money for it, which shouldn't be much of problem in the long run.

Lucas, I'm pretty sure if you tried to speak English, we could understand some part of it. You'd just have a very, very strong accent.

I wish teleportation was possible, it would make things easier. You guys could easily teleport into a Bank Vault, take enough money for a plane ticket and there you go!
Title: Re: happy xmes to one and all
Post by: drenrin2120 on December 27, 2010, 08:53:32 PM
Teleportation would theoretically kill you while creating a clone you that acts, behaves and does everything you do... But isn't you, cuz you're dead.

Just sayin'.

I believe he and Val live in Texas.
Val lives in Austin, I think, and I have no idea where Archem lives.

We should totally make a seperate thread for this so we can run through ideas and shtuff.

While I wouldn't mind having the meet closer to Texas, I think we should pick a place that isn't too expensive and that has lots of sights to see for people coming from out of town. Any suggestions?

What about Florida?  J/k.

If you want US, here is a good page with cheap cities for vacations.

http://www.smartertravel.com/travel-advice/five-inexpensive-summer-vacation.html?id=14139

New Orleans would be fun and is close closer to a center for everyone.  Philadelphia is probably easy for the europeans and those of us in the east of North America, and Portland would be easy for all the Canadians and the US people.

Like I said, I wouldn't mind Canada at all, but it'd be better for people who live much farther away to discuss.
