Personally I'm looking forward to Diablo 3 and Pkmn Black / White.
Also, I hope that FFXIII versus proves to be better than it's counterpart.
What about you guys? 2010 is over and 2011 has begun.
-
Portal 2 and Duke Nukem Forever (lol)
-
Your mom.
-
Deus Ex Human Revolution looks awesome.
I'm expecting dissapointment in every way possible.
-
Your mom.
this
-
The new Silent Hill.
-
11-11-11: TES V - Skyrim
-
11-11-11: TES V - Skyrim
I'm expecting dissapointment in every way possible.
-
The new Silent Hill.
New composer=half of my interest gone in an instant
why would they replace the silent hill composer what the ****
-
That, I don't know, to be honest. But maybe the new one will prove to be as good as Akira Yamaoka. I certainly hope so...
-
11-11-11: TES V - Skyrim
I'm expecting dissapointment in every way possible.
The fact that it's not using the Oblivion engine is, in my opinion, a big plus.
I loved that game to death, but goddamn the technology sucked.
-
Considering when they made Oblivion they turned Cyrodill from tropical rainforest with roman cities to generic high fantasy, I'm expecting a similar treatment for Skyrim.
-
I kind of doubt that they'd turn Skyrim into, say, a pine forest.
I mean, the entire point of the Nords is that they live in the snow.
I'm personally expecting Bloodmoon+.
Which I can live with, as I actually liked exploring Solstheim.
-
Good movies and good games. Perhaps a new country to live in.
-
The fact that it's not using the Oblivion engine is, in my opinion, a big plus.
The fact that Bethesda is making the engine themselves is a big concern. Have you seen how buggy their games are? They didn't even need to program the engine! And on top of that, they blame the engine for gameplay limitations that other studios were magically able to overcome while using the same engine! Basically, they better be hiring some awesome new programmers or something. Get Carmack on the phone, now that your parent company owns id, and have him genius up something for you guys.
Why can't they just use id Tech 5? Honestly?
-
Oblivion is pretty stable... On a high-end computer.
I think Bethedsa does learn a bit from user feedback; quite a few of the features in Oblivion were included because of what people said about Morrowind. However, it is quite true that making bug-free games is not their strong point. That, and avoiding the uncanny valley. But hell, I don't think that's going to stop it from being pretty good.
-
They exist at the lowest part of that valley. Like, they don't even try to get out.
-
Also Bioshock Infinite.
But i actually I don;t knw when is that going to be released.
-
LittleBigPlanet 2.
Good thing that comes out soon.
-
Ico/Shadow of the Colossus HD
Last Guardian
Pokemon Black (my brother is getting White and honestly my interest and disinterest are permanently on a teeter totter at this point)
and about 90% of what's to be released along with the 3DS.
Incidentally, discovered that reservations at Gamestop for the 3DS are on. Took care of that, in addition to the games above.
-
Oh right the 3DS! loads of remakes and stuff.
And The last story was almost forgotten as well.

"Oh, that was a bug?
I thought you guys made that happen.
I mean, watching that deer fly around WAS rather hilarious."
-
Uncharted 3
Portal 2
LoZ: Skyward Sword
Twisted Metal
LoZ: OoT 3DS
Yep. That's all I need :)
-
Portal 2, Postal 3.
-
I kind of doubt that they'd turn Skyrim into, say, a pine forest.
I mean, the entire point of the Nords is that they live in the snow.
You know what?
Nevermind, I still think it looks good. Despite the fact that Todd Howard sounds like he doesn't know what the **** he's talking about.
-
and about 90% of what's to be released along with the 3DS.
Pretty much. Speaking of, do we know what the launch titles are yet?
-
Nintendogs and cats.
And other little craps. The good games we wont get til like a month later.
-

-
So the PSP2 has two analog sticks. And they're REAL analog sticks, not that nub crap.
I know what I'm buying
-
It's a handheld. Even the 3DS doesn't have proper analogs, let alone 2. it's pretty significant. Also it'll probably have PS2 backwards compatability eventually, like the PSP had PS1 games
-
What have you been doing to your controllers?
-
Dude, we've had the same PS2 controller since the PS2 came out.
The only thing that's shown any sign of breaking is the wire.
If you're breaking your analog sticks, you're doing it wrong.
-
Do you use your analog sticks like arcade joysticks or something?
-
If Sony decides to launch any system with PS2 backwards ability I'm getting it. So sick of borrowing my buddy's PS2 since mine broke. EU PS3 don't have the PS1 and PS2 playability, it sucks. I'd love to play some Kingdom hearts, dark cloud, soul calibur, tekken or FFx and x2-
-
The 3DS still impresses me, albeit when I pre-ordered the system I was under the impression that many of the games used to show off the system would be released alongside it. I still need to replace my DS, as it would seem it is about to break. Another story for another day.
No comment on the PSP2/NGP just yet. Fantastic graphics and will probably cost upwards around $450. Hasn't exactly impressed just yet, just like the PSP and the PS3 when they first came out. But look at me now, I have both.
I sort of want to see Microsoft release a handheld. Portable Fable. **** would be so cash.
-
I really don't want Microsoft to touch the handheld market. Nothing against their games, but their policies on DLC, online and generally everything are something I'd rather keep fenced into the console market.
-
Granted, the people I talked with had reactions sort of similar to the guy on the left in this video. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9eGtyqz4gY&feature=feedf)
-
I've broken a lot of sticks on computer controllers too. And honestly it's not that big of a deal to me if it's an analog stick or a D pad. Chances are the game is going to control about the same either way.
3DS looks so so sweet. So sweet. But I really want to see one in person at a game store before I buy one, just to make sure I'm right about it being so sweet.
-
Bioshock Infinite & Gears of War 3
Woo!
-
Tomb Raider reboot.
I am serious. Game looks like it's gonna shift into a game I like.
-
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2
Thief 4, assuming it comes out in 2011
By Fire And Sword
The Witcher 2
Fable 3 PC port.
Maybe The Elder Scrolls 5.
Not very much in retrospect.
:(
-
They're making a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2? I figured they'd just keep going "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Subtitle".
-
No they're finally making S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. No word on if it will be released episodically first. Either way I'm hyped.
_ghost_ :'( <--- Me and a buror
-
It's going to be on consoles too, but they've said they definitely won't alter the game to cater to consoles. Unlike a certain Crytek game...
-
Pokémon Black & White.
That's about it.
...maybe Dragon Age II.
-
It's going to be on consoles too, but they've said they definitely won't alter the game to cater to consoles. Unlike a certain Crytek game...
It really doesn't feel too terribly altered for consoles. It's streamlined like hell, but that's mostly a good thing.
Unless you meant something other than Crysis 2...
-
The game looks the same, if not worse than the original game, they released the demo exclusively to consoles (which kinda shows where their loyalties lie), and the whole setting was likely chosen purely because rendering a world like Crysis' on a console without it looking like *** would be pretty hard.
-
It looks the same (unless you're looking at the console version), it's released on the Xbox because of Microsoft's cash and because they're trying to let the big shooter crowd know that a game that they'd like will be on consoles, and it's in NYC because they wanted it there, not because they couldn't make a massive world that looks good on consoles (see Far Cry 2, or any other game with a large world).
Better luck in round two.
-
LoZ: Skyward Sword
LoZ: OoT 3DS
These. This is about all I care about. I need to get a wii before Skyward Sword comes out though.
-
I am so stone age right now. I have a PS2, an N64 and a GBA...
I wish I had the money to get a Wii, and an Xbox 360. I honestly have no real desire to get a PS3, since the games I like for it are mostly on the Xbox anyways.
Gonna have to get a DS. I don't have any form of DS right now, so that's a definite thing to get. Still gonna keep the GBA though, I hate that the DS doesn't have backwards compatibility past the GBA, and the newer DS don't even have that.
-
Heroes (of might and magic) 6, seem to follow 5's footsteps. Might be good.
Diablo 3 (can't remember if I even mentioned it), 5 classes seems a bit low but I hope they'll make the rest of te game awesome.
Dissidia 2, whenever that **** reaches Europe. Can't deny that I like this milked game living on its' fanbase.
Parasite Eve / 3rd birthday - This might just be good as far as I'm concerned. Still miss playing PE2, great game, great game.
KH Recoded - no idea if this is worth getting, seems like Enix is doing what they can to avoid giving us the next part of the series.
Between 1 and 2 - Chain of memories. Now - Chain of memories PS2 remake , 365 / 2 days, Birth by sleep and Recoded.
FFXIII Vs and 2 I guess. They might just be better than XIII which was overall a good game but nothing special.
-
Deus Ex Human Revolution is looking more excellent every second. ****, if this game is bad I'll have to punch whoever's nearest to me at the time.
-
Diablo 3 isn't slated for release this year.
-
Wait, it's not?
Pretty much every source I've seen has said that it's supposed to be later this year.
Or is that just my exhaustion messing with me?
-
Brink and Rage! Just look at them. *Drools*
-
The ones I'm looking forward to the most are the Ocarina of Time remake for the 3DS and LoZ: Skyward Sword for the Wii, probably because I don't own a PS3 or an Xbox 360 yet...Hey, I'm working on it. >.>
I might also get suckered into buying one of the new Pokemon games, though I haven't decided which one I'm getting yet. It's like a guilty indulgence for me. Truth be told, I'm not as interested in keeping up with the new games as I used to be. It probably has something to do with the fact that I have an ever-growing pile of old PSX/PS2 games that I still haven't finished, yet want to.
-
Don't feel bad about playing Pokémon. We all play. Lucas especially.
-
Wait, it's not?
Pretty much every source I've seen has said that it's supposed to be later this year.
Or is that just my exhaustion messing with me?
Well according to Activision's press release or whatever, no Blizzard products are coming this year, but two are coming next year. Also, speaking of that press release, Guitar Hero is now dead and buried.
-
As are the rest of the "Blank Hero" games, Tony Hawk games, and the attempt to reboot True Crime. There may be others, I can't remember. The fun part is, Activision isn't doing something sensible like ending their rape of a series or three mercifully and giving the dev teams something new to run into the ground. They're killing the studios in-charge of the now defunct games.
Yay, Activision.
-
Oh, this just in on Diablo: Their goal is to release it this year (http://kotaku.com/#!5757690/blizzards-goal-is-to-release-diablo-iii-this-year).

*Snicker*...How often does Blizzard (or video game companies in general) actually meet their planned release dates? ;)
-
Jesus Christ!! How did Bulletstorm slip my radar!?!?!? That's the game of the year I want now! :D
-
*Snicker*...How often does Blizzard (or video game companies in general) actually meet their planned release dates? ;)
Most do, actually, but only because they're owned by a larger company that are concerned about their bottom line. Blizzard is big enough that they can wait forever, but with pressure from the Activision side of the formula, they may actually have an incentive to wrap it up. Basically, don't crush my dreams.
-
Duocecim and Skyward Sword. All I want all year. Also I'm retroactively anticipating Dark Dawn.
-
I want the PSP2 Monster Hunter game! and i wants to play the Star Wars mmo and the FF7 remake *cool face*
-
Two of them aren't even announced, one of them is likely to fail horribly. I'm so optomistic!
-
Hm, after reading more responses, I definitely forgot some.
Skyward Sword and OoT 3DS are definite for me too.
Also FFXIII-2. Haters gonna hate.
-
*hates*
All I'm looking forward to is Duke Nukem Forever and Deus Ex Human Revolution, still. DNF will probably be way too streamlined and shitty (I really hope not but I'm a realist). Human Revolution is actually looking like a solid entry into the series, much better than Invisible War was. Oh and The Witcher 2 looks pretty rad.
-
I'm certain they'll drop a PSP2 monster Hunter. The sales were insane for the new one... There's a small chance it'll come out on PS3 though because the only reason Tri didn't come out on PS3 was because the cost of making a PS3 game was too high BUT that's changed.... apparently.
-
Supposedly they're not localising Portable 3rd due to low PSP ownership in the west.
-
No, seriously, it's happening for real. Gearbox owns it now, it has a release date in the very near future, it has all sorts of stuff going on...
Basically, it's like that dream I had.
-
Supposedly they're not localising Portable 3rd due to low PSP ownership in the west.
yeah... that's their way of saying "it's not call of Duty so why would the west care?" lol I was pissed when I found out the MH mmo came out in Japan on the 360! I've played it before on pc and it's a really fun game but out of no where capcom decoded to ban me.... Actually I think they just banned all Americans lol but I do hope the game does drop on PSP2 I spent like 200 hours with 4 friends on the last one.
ALSO!! speaking of Duke..
