I can't believe 1995 was 16 years ago...someone born in 1995 is 16 right now. WTF?
Anyway, remember the 90s? Friends, Aqua, Power Rangers? What are things from the 90s you remember or you almost forgot.
Came across this song which I completely forgot existed. Opened up a whole bunch of memories: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96jFtzVa80A

My brother (born in '95) is only 15. YOU LIED.
-
I don't.
I was born in '92, and was practically half retarded, so...yeah.
Actually, my memory is rather worryingly bad.
I really only remember stuff since I was like, 10.
-
Ace of Bass is white????? I feel like my whole life has been a lie.
Best comment.
Spice girls was pretty 90's right? And all those boy bands?

Did that just tell me that I fail?

You know what? I remember that commercial. That's a pretty good commercial. I didn't even own a PlayStation until 1/1/2000. Bought it for $20.
Never played MediEvil, though.
-
Croc, Red Alert, Warcraft 2, Lego Racer, Worms 2, Heroes3, age of empire.
It's the friggin age when games were born.
-
Banjo-Kazooie.
-
Banjo-Kazooie.
I second that.
-
Heroes 3
Man, I found my copy of this game over Christmas break. So freaking good.
-
Games off the top of my head I remember playing a lot...
Crash Bandicoot
Rollercoast tycoon
RPG Maker for the PS
Heroes of Might and Magic
Civilization
Diablo I and II
Some of those weren't the 90's, but whatev.
I can't ever remember any 90's tv shows I used to watch. I remember the rugrats and the magic school bus, that's all I got right now.
-
You guys are only remembering the reaallly gay parts of this decade for some reason.
Cypress Hill. Aliens3. Jurrasic Park. Deftones. Uh....THE INTERNET. Napster-pre-shitstorm. the debut of the parker fly.
Wu Tang Clan aint nuthin ta fuk wit. Nanorobotics. Adobe Flash. Peer to peer sharing. Tasers.
-

No cause we didn't mention you.
Age of empires.
This. I used to fake sick so I could go home and play AoE.
-
Im from the eighties, but thanks
-
Technically, so am I, but you don't see me being Captain Semantics.
I'm more along the lines of Captain Sementits.
Or, more likely, Captain Sirmantits...
-
I remember breaking my sister's PS1 more than once. And playing lots of NES. That's pretty much it.
-
I was born in the 80's too. Yep. 1989.
I loved MediEvil. Beating enemies with your own arm was great.
RPG Maker for the PSX. First and only time I actually completed a game. And even 2! They were short and made no sense, but hey, they were complete!
Resident Evil. Used to love this.
Pokémon.
N64.
And many other things I forgot, yes.
-
Let's see...what did I used to play...
Twisted Metal
Pandemonium (one and two, especially two)
Oddworld (both of 'em)
Wild Arms
Suikoden II
Crash Bandicoot (all of 'em that were out)
Spyro the Dragon
Tomb Raider
That's all I can think of, really.
ed: Warcraft II
-
Crash Bandicoot (all of 'em that were out)
Spyro the Dragon
Completely forgot these games. I remember I used to run around and just set sheep on fire in Spyro when I was bored.

Ben's got a point, I don't know how I forgot about wu-tang clan.
/sarcasm
annnd, I know this is different, but this kind of crazy. For the US:
in 1999, a gallon of gas cost about 1.22
The SNES was 160 bucks brand new
snowboard with boots and bindings was 200 bucks. That's damn cheap, you'll easily dish out 450 to 500 bucks for the same thing now.
average cost for a pack of cigarettes in 1990: 1.25
in 1999, 1.35
so yeah, compare that to the average income hasn't changed nearly as drastically as the cost of things and it's crazy yo. I kind of wish I was born in 1975 so I could live in the 90s.
-
Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow.
EarthBound.
-

For me, I do know why. I didn't listen to music all that much back then. Still don't know how I managed to.
But then again, if I do remember, and after listening to 20 sec of one of Wu-Tang Clan's song, it's not the kind of music I liked and like.
I don't remember if it was in the 90's (and if it was, it was probably in 1999 since that's when it came out in English) but the TV series of Redwall was something I liked, and that's when I came to know its existence. Yeah, I knew the series before the book, I'm sorry...
-
Rocko's Modern Life is a definate memory I have. Same with buying my first PS at a Sam's Club, came in those damn near impossible to open plastic cases which inside held the box, extra controller and two games. Then staying up three night in a row beating Metal Gear Solid
-

I was being sarcasm about wu-tang.
but, yeah, I used to love Redwall! Completely forgot about it. I only read the books, but only because I didn't know there was a show.
EDIT: Now that I think of it, for kid's books, they were kind of graphic.
-
Except that I actually remember the eighties :P
1981, bitches.
You know, its like you guys wait for somebody to like hip-hop to shun them. Open your minds.
then again, I never really came around on hiphop until the last 2 years. I live with a world class beatboxer. that dude has the best ipod ever.
very little of it is actually hip hop mind you.
-
But... but... I just said I didn't like it!
Never said anything about those who did like it!
-
I waas only playing. =P I do enjoy me some immortal technique. Though I have to admit I don't get in on hip hop as much as I should.
-
Immortal tech has some brilliant lyrics. You've more then redeemed yourself.
Cerb....Im just bustin' your chops broseph. lol
-
Silent Hill, Alien, Tekken 2, Parappa the rapper, Ocarina of time, Mario kart.
Great titles, gives me chills.

Oh good gawd. I used to love that show! It's theme was the first thing I learned to play on guitar. Also: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2W_3uXqsfw
-
I loved the Redwall books. Haven't picked one of those in years.

Damn, been a while I haven't seen this TéléToon logo! Well then another thing I remember from the 90's: The Birth of TéléToon! But that's Canadian only stuff.
And I loved that theme. Now I really should start reading the books again...
-
But that's Canadian only stuff.

Oh damn, I remember this. Probably seen this in French, though. If there is, of course. Been too long, yes.
-
Hey, Zerl, one more post.
-
Excuse the slight topic kick, but I just wanted to note that I found it extremely strange that I somehow KNEW that was the song your Youtube link was going bring up. I didn't know in advance, either. Right as I went to click it, it popped into my head. I used to sing that all the time as a little kid haha.
The '90s... Such good things about which to reminisce. I can't go too long without '90s Nickelodeon coming up in a conversation. It is really weird how long ago that all was...
-
Aye, the 90's was the best. Donkey Kong Country anyone? Super Mario World? Of course, the greatest Pokemon Games (RBY and GSC), Power Rangers, Ninja Turtles (technically late 80's, early 90's)
Not to mention some of the best and most diverse music in history. Nirvana, Green Day, Our Lady Peace, Bad Religion, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and soo much more (and I know, I only listed rock, but that's all I really listen to)
I miss the 90's so much sometimes.
-
love how much the 2000's runined music.
-
Just because the mainstream is shitty doesn't mean good music isn't consistently being made. Pretty sure most periods have had their shitty mainstream music.
-
Ross corrected your stupid before I got the chance. Now back to Cracked.com.

I was talking about the mainstream :<
-
I'm born in '95
I guess time flys :)
But ANYTHING made or thought before the year 2000,
pretty much rocks look at Anime for example.
-
..how come everyone I know (except AFL) hates mainstream music, and yet mainstream music is so big? Do I know such a small amount of people?
Cause we're 2 kewl for mainstream. 8)
-
That was the worst argument ever.
I didn't want to say it. :'(
-
..how come everyone I know (except AFL) hates mainstream music, and yet mainstream music is so big? Do I know such a small amount of people?
Let me pull out one of my favourite Zappa quotes here...
"The Ultimate Rule ought to be: 'If it sounds GOOD to you, it's bitchin'; if it sounds BAD to YOU, it's shitty. The more your musical experience, the easier it is to define for yourself what you like and what you don't like. American radio listeners, raised on a diet of _____ (fill in the blank), have experienced a musical universe so small they cannot begin to know what they like."
-
...I like a lot of '00s music. In fact, I'd say most of my favorite music right now comes from that decade. I'd say Muse is pretty mainstream, and Modest Mouse had some mainstream singles, although in the case of both of those bands, I like their non-mainstream stuff more.
I suppose a lot of bands I like started in the '90s, but really weren't known too much until the '00s.
-
Pretty good quote there, boy.
