Title: Kyoob Tech
Post by: fruckert on May 12, 2011, 09:20:31 PM
Would people be interested in (fairly higher level) Kyoob tech demonstrations?

I'm not talking about Kyoob demos, I'm talking showing how I do some of the practical stuff in Kyoob, i.e. how I store room information without keeping them persistent, how the save system works, etc.

I'm mostly asking because I think me and Ed are the only people who use GM, and he rarely posts anymore.

I'll take that resounding silence as a "no"

Alternatively, you could that resounding silence as an indication that we are far, far more interested in seeking Kyoob perform and playing it ourselves than having you spend critical development resources on tutorials.

Point taken :P

I guess I'm just really excited by how much I've grown as a developer, and want to share a couple of the things that I've made.
Like the aforementioned "storing room information without keeping the rooms persistent" and stuff like that.

Oh well, back to work.

Maybe after the first demo?

Incidentally, Kyoob Tech sounds like a nerdy engineering college.

Probably.
I can't (and don't want to) give an ETA on when that's going to happen, however.
Considering that production has slowed to a grinding hault every time I release a demo, I'd rather get everything I know is going to be in the game done first (right now, that's about 21 different abilities, and a slew of enemies), and then see where it's going from there.
