Title: I Live Here
Post by: drenrin2120 on June 02, 2011, 08:55:30 PM
So, some crazy weather patterns around where I live. I can literally drive 10 minutes down the road and find destruction from the recent storms that came through Western Massachusetts. Yesterday, around 4 PM, powerful thunder storms started rolling through my area. They spawned an unknown number of tornadoes. Something like ten cities and other communities have been destroyed. Tornadoes don't happen in Massachusetts. There's mountains, trees and lakes that hinder that. An outbreak of multiple, deadly, tornadoes is so rare it's ridiculous. It's pretty crazy over here right now.

That really blows, but at least your town didn't get destroyed. Are there supposed to be more bad storms in the future?

GLOBAL WARMING! THE END IS NEAR!!!

I heard something about that, but I don't know the full story yet.
I assume you're alright though, correct?

Maybe the rapture is late :o

But seriously, yeah...that's kinda bizarre.
It'd be like if Washington suddenly got a hurricane.

Yeah, luckily I'm fine. I live in Holyoke, which is a short drive north of Springfield. Its just awe-inspiring how close it was. I drive down that highway. I don't know. My step dad has some family living in springfield, luckily they're okay and their houses aren't damaged. But I've heard so many stories from friends and customers where I work. One woman walked in and just told me her house was gone. She seemed fine, like she was still in shock.

Hey now, this is no place to be making puns.

Okay, I stand corrected.
Apparently there was a tornado a mile away from where I live on Friday.
And, two months after I was born, bigass hurricane happened in Olympia.

...yeah, I should do my research a bit better.

Man, this is WEIRD.

Hey now, this is no place to be making puns.
My first thought. My second thought was "so what? I get that kind of **** all the time", but then I didn't comment because I thought it wouldn't be in good taste.

Neither thought was in good taste.

I should b eglad that my area has no tornadoes or hurricanes. Ever. Not for the past few thousand years, at least, and I don't think it's going to change any time soon.

I read the US gets about 90% of the world's tornadoes.

We've had a lot of tornado warnings around here lately, but nothing has actually happened. Hopefully nothing does, though a very messed-up part of me wants to see a funnel cloud from a distance just to see what it looks like in person.

Anyway, I'm sorry to anyone here who has friends or family who were affected by the tornadoes...I can't imagine what I'd do if something like this were to happen around where I live. =\

Holy **** it's ZKX.

Yeah, a tornado touched down about 10km south of where I live. It didn't stay down for very long, and it wasn't in a town or anything, but there was some pretty wicked hail that did some property damage. It's gonna be a crazy summer, man.

You are not alone on this, there are many disasters I'd like to see in person, and I'm pretty sure many other people are curious about this as well. The only problem is that disasters usually cause a lots of destruction, injuries and/or death... and if you can actually see it, well, yeah, you are in danger too, some times.

I don't think we ever had any tornadoes here, and if we actually did, was probably nothing big.

Let's hope nothing happen to you, guys, nor anyone you know.

Mother Nature can be such a b*tch some times... but hey, to a certain extent, we, humans, deserve it. Of course, still doesn't mean I approve of her methods of telling us she doesn't like us.

It's quite scary.

Even scarier is to look straight up and see a funnel start going down.
I don't think I've ever run so fast in my life.

ZeroKirbyX had me won second place in a contest, long ago. Where we had to choose a Charas member to draw. And I miss the Kirbified Charas members.
But DragonBlaze was a cool guy, too. Well... probably still is. But why so absent!? Yeah, real life, I guess...
But I do suppose that one ZeroKirbyX and DragonBlaze post once in a while is better than none!

I feel special now :). And Yeah, I got a life and a girlfriend for a while, big mistake there. If theres one thing I've learned in life, its that life is not what is important, its charas.

And some more off topic fluff, I feel like we just completely hijacked this topic lol

I'm guessing you haven't looked in any topics Lucas or Archem have posted in for the last I-don't-know-how-long.

Yeah, I derail things big time. I'm the guy who puts a penny on the tracks.

Actually, that doesn't work. Trains flatten the pennies, and you have a cool hunk of paper-thin copper. One of many cool train stories. Anyone else have any?

So this turned into how awesome Blaze and I are?

Continue.

As for train stories, I have one of each American coin flattened. Also a pog. Not as cool.
