I've recently been approached for involvement in a project called Aether Dancer. It's a Steampunk TV series- sort of like Firefly meets Star Wars and explodes in a vat of melting brass. I've read the script and have a lot of faith in the project. Claudia Christian (Babylon 5, Atlantis the Lost Empire) has committed to playing the lead, should the series get picked up.
The creator (Stephen Lambert) has put a lot of effort in getting this far and putting together a good cast made of actors/Steampunk enthusiasts. I'm really excited as- should this get picked up, it would be a series made by those in the community its targeting.
Here is the indiegogo page. The amount he's listed as needing is to shoot a whole pilot, however, if it does not reach the goal (it's a fairly lofty goal at this point) he will use whatever money is actually raised to shoot a concept video to pitch the show to various networks here in Canada.

Hope things go well. Sure would be cool if someone from Charas "made it big", so to speak. Beats the balls off of waiting for me to become some sort of famous rock star or comedian or something that likely won't happen.

I don't know, you've got the balls for it, it just depends on luck and how gifted you are.
I feel like this topic went somewhere very very far away from the intended topic.
