Title: Bad dreams
Post by: forgetaboutit on July 11, 2011, 01:36:08 PM
That was HORRIBLE.

I was at college. Normal day. Hear something about how a friend's house was robbed and they took away all his games, and something about an airplane he owned, but other than that, just normal classes and stuff... Though I have to admit they were a little weird.

At one point, a big *** rottweiler walks in and starts running from one way to another, I was on the second floor, then he went downstairs... Me and a "friend" (who isn't really my friend, just some random guy I don' know) went downstairs to check. The way there, an angel appears and says something along the lines of "Six from down there... Six of you (but this time six was one more than six. Like seven. But not sevens. Numbers work weird when you're sleeping)... Seven of us...". By "down there" I knew that he meant dwarves, and not demons. I said to my friend "And by that logic... Eight from lower under [I mean demons]? Wait, maybe five?"

Then this little girl climbs up. At that point the dog wasn't there anymore. The girl's face was really pale, her eyes were black, and her face was full of scars. I say to my "friend", "Watch out, it's the girl from The Ring!". I was kidding, though. Then she makes a sign with her hand for her to get down so she can whisper something on his ear. When he does that, his face becomes like hers, his skin is white as well... He starts moving around slowly like a zombie but he isn't really a zombie. I don't notice at first, until he tries to grab my arm, then I realize he was trying to look at me in the eyes - everytime they look at someone in their eyes up close, they sort of shoot some laser out of their eyes and the person becomes like them.

I managed to set myself free and started running. Most of my building had been infected. I ran into some friends outside, real ones this time. Like half a dozen of them. To get out of there fast, we needed to jump through these floating platforms, they felt really normal like they had always been there. Anyway, the non-zombies tried to follow us, they walked slow (not like zombies, just like normal people walking), but they jumped normally. I remember jumping was really hard for me, because I was so light, and was always so close to falling off the platforms because I jumped too far.

But we got out, in the end. We were Four of us by then. We start running, but some people stop, and in the end, they were caught by this girl we knew - now turned into one of them. So its me and this girl. We keep running, I tell her not to stop, and we run into this big guy in the end of the block - we share some classes with him. He looks like the comic book guy from simpsons, except he's much taller and has no beard. Anyway, we tell him to run, and point to the monsters a few blocks away, chasing us. He says, "Let's get into a bus", and first one is closed, but we manage to get in the back of the second one (we were on this big street downtown, even though my university is far from there), and we climb right as the monsters were about to catch us.

The bus is really empty and dark, we sit and start talking about what to do now and where we should go. Mostly me and the guy. The girl was really nervous, and she sat in a corner and started singing. I tried to make her calm down but she wouldn't so I gave up. At one point the guy talked about when his mother died (I have no idea if his mother is dead or no), and it reminded me of my father, and I started crying a lot. But then I stopped, I said I had to focus onw hat was happening. I called my cousin, who was at college, and he started mumbling something in another language - It sounded like something one of those Hellboy guys would say during a ritual. I knew he had become one of them. Then I called my aunt, who was home, to see if things had gotten that far. Same
thing.

I had to get off from the bus by then, not sure why. But everyone I knew was turned. And on the way there, through the window, I saw a bunch of people with clown masks. I told to that guy, "Maybe they're smart? Maybe they're using masks to hide their faces so we won't know who they are and they can convert us more easily!". He replied "Maybe. We can't even fight back now".

At that point, I was terrified. It was such a feeling of fear, man. So ****ing awful. And it was really cold, too. And there was this fog... And in the bus I also remembered that I "cheated" - Someone looked at me in the eyes, but I managed to jump away and make everything fuzzy for a bit - "like a dream" - and that I wasn't supposed to be alive, it was just a matter of time before they got me... I was thinking about suicide but I knew that it would be better to fight to the end, maybe I could escape with my friends to somewhere safe...

My mother woke me up, then. I was never so glad that someone woke me up before. That was the ****ing worse dream I ever had.

Anyone has bad experiences like this that they want to share?

I had a dream once where I was talking with my mother on the phone, and then she, while I was still talking on the phone, walked in with some groceries. Mom 1 expressed confusion over the phone, and Mom 2 just looked funny at me. Then Mom 2 laughed and started singing nursery rhymes and I woke up.

Had a dream last night where this chick insisted we go to this fancy restaurant in the mall. It was crowded and there was a long line, and when we sat down she ordered this cheese sandwich I used to get at a certain restaurant but they didn't have it and she got pissed.

I woke up with a terrible longing to eat that sandwich, but the restaurant is thousands of miles away from me now :(

My worst dream (and I've already stated this on a past dreams thread) is one where I was at my old house (at the time, my current house), and a pool party was going on in the back yard (we never had a pool). There were lots of people, and a few of them were recognizable as family members (some of who are long dead). It was all great and stuff, and I came inside for a bit. I noticed that dark clouds were starting to gather outside, and it was evident that a storm was coming. My mom was inside with me, and the sky lights up with a huge flash of lightning and a massive roar of thunder. At this point, I'm expecting the party to end, and everyone to start coming inside. After a few minutes, nobody comes in, and it starts raining down hard. The rain is blood. I go outside, and see that the pool is now thick with blood and the stewed and dismembered corpses of everyone in the pool. It's closer to a thick red paste filled with muscle and bone than a pool at this point. I try to scream, but can't. I come inside, babbling as I try to explain what I saw to my mom. I finally manage to spit out "Call 911! Call an ambulance!', and my mother says in more of a disappointed tone than one of terror "Oh no". I wake up, breathing heavily, and spend the next two days unable to get the dream out of my head.

Pretty much sucked.

Once I dreamed (with incredible realism) that my grandma was chopping ingredients for soup, and she slipped, broke her leg and cut herself very badly with the knife.  The dog came over and whimpered and licked her, but grandma simply couldn't get up, let alone reach the phone.  The dog whined and howled as grandma bled out...

I called her the next day to make sure it was only a dream.

I had a dream the other night that I was limping down my street, and both my legs were broken. I was covered in blood and weighed down with
chains that had pierced my skin, so there was no way to get them out. I could see a man in a trench coat in the distance walking closer, so I kept limping
towards my house which seemed to keep getting further away. I finally made it into my house and slammed my door shut. But when I turned around, there
was a door behind me. I was stuck between 2 doors. All of a sudden, this kind of feral man in a straight jacket with clingfilm wrapped around his face, no teeth
and loads of burns started screaming and banging his head against the door, smashing the glass and covering his head with blood. I looked around me and everything
was on fire. Then, in a lucid dream kind of way, I thought I'd woken up.

However, when I thought I'd woke up, I had no bed covers on and was completely paralyzed. There was a chair next to my bed with someone
sat on it wearing a sharp tuxedo, sat up straight and official, body pointed alongside the bed. But his face looked something like Jigsaw from saw,
and he was just staring at me. Then I genuinely woke up. ****ing horrible nightmare, that one!

I had a dream last night. It wasn't a nightmare, really, but it did make me incredibly sad. I don't remember the whole thing, but I remember being at my old house, and my dead cat's head was sitting inside, next to the front door. It wasn't a dead head, she was alive. Then, I looked out into the front yard (the front door was open, by the way). It was night, but I could see that down the walkway to the front door, my cat was sitting there with her body, but she was missing an arm or two, and had no tail. Then I looked further, into the street, and saw that she was perfectly fine. I said to my mom that I was sad, because the most whole form of her was the furthest away, and I knew that, if I approached my whole cat, she would disappear. Man, I feel horrible just thinking about it.

I miss my cat...

I've been trying to get lucid dreams for a while now, and a few weeks ago, by accident, it happened. Prior to attempting to cause lucid dreams, I contemplated what would happen if I thought of my fears in one. In that dream, it progressed as usual, as a dream of hanging out with friends at school, until I realized I was dreaming. I couldn't wake up. I tried pinching myself, which hurt, but didn't do anything for waking me up. I tried telling my friends that we were in a dream, but nothing. Then, I thought of my fears by accident. Suddenly, I was inside the school and I could hear loud crashes. Suddenly, a classroom door opened in front of me, revealing a large, monstrous creature staring at me. All I could think was "Don't kill me, don't kill me," even though I was in a dream. Luckily, the monster stomped around elsewhere, and my heart racing caused me to wake up.

That actually happens to me all the time, lilsniffs. I'll be stuck in a dream, often half-awake, but unable to fully wake up. One time I even had a case where my eyes were half-open and I could see the kitchen, but at the same time I could see the dream (yeah, I was seeing two things at the same time...trippy) and hear the sound from the dream. I usually don't remember my dreams, but I know that I'm often able to recognize a dream as such...yet I can't wake myself up. This is annoying when I have nightmares. =\

I advise every one of you get a dream catcher. Even if it's a myth and their is no magic it actually does help because the neurons in your brain act differently knowing it's there. They work wonders.

The worst nightmare I ever had was when I woke up out of my bed thinking I was actually awake but was sleeping. It was a carbon copy of reality which was scary as **** let me tell you what. I walked down a dark hallway and as my feet kept touching the carpet (I was barefoot), they kept sinking into the floor like it was made of hot wax. I finally got to the end of the hallway in the old house I used to live in and could see the tv was on but it was white noise and static. Inside the room were two lounge chairs but they were turned towards the TV. However, they were rocking back and forth. When I walked up to the chair time stopped.. It was slow motion and suddenly the chairs turned towards me to reveal the most horrible image ever. On the chairs were my parents decapitated bodies and they were holding their own heads. I woke up and couldn't sleep for days afterwards. I don't know where dreams come from or what the hell causes them to be so real but the mind is a powerful thing.

Some ancient religions even believe dreams are magical or spiritual where we leave our bodies and explore heaven or hell.

Of course the Native Amercians believe in capturing negative energy in the web of the Dream Catcher which is what causes nightmares. Dark spirits and all that.

lolno. Instead of "God will make it work," atheists accept "This medicine is based on science and it will make everything better." If anything, that's a more powerful placebo, since society is structured in a way that makes doctors in lab coats holding bottles of pills sound legit.

I have a hard time with pseudo lucid dreaming type things. I sleep lightly, so it doesn't take much to "wake me up," but most times I'm still at least partially dreaming. So I think I'm on my bed in the dark fully awake but the dream is still going on. Sometimes I think there are people in the room, or that my bed is unusually very large, or other weird things. The worst is when I actually THINK I'm getting out of bed (still laying down sleeping, mind you) and go use the computer or the phone or something. I think I'm having conversations with people that never actually occured. I'm awake enough to get all of their personalities right - these conversations are VERY reliastic, down to the typing quirks or speech patterns of the people I'm interacting with - but it's all still a dream so none of it happened. I've referenced things people said in these dreams that never happened because sometimes it can be hard to remember what was dream and what was awake later on.

Sometimes it goes the other way. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the dreamworld and I know it's a dream but I have some control. Those can be interesting. Inception style. Other times, I wake up and know it's a dream but have no control. Usually during nightmares. In these cases I can force myself to wake up, but it's... hard? Difficult to describe. It feels like I'm exterting myself strongly to force myself out of the dreams, but I'm obviously not using any actual muscles. But there is something going on because I usually wake up almost out of breath with a racing heart.

Sleep is weird, man. It's almost enough to make me not want to go to bed.

Bad dreams? Only when sleep paralysis happens.

You start believing things you thought you wouldn't believe.

I tend to forget most of my Dreams, and even those I remember disappear from my mind after a while.

The only one remember which was kinda bad was when I ended up being shot, crawled on the floor while the guy went and killed whoever else I was with in my Dream and got shot again, when he noticed I was alive. I think I died in this Dream.

I probably had worst Dreams than this, but I forgot them all.

One thing I really hate...
Dreaming about how life had become better for me in many ways only to wake up and find out that all this was fake.
The Dream World is a terrible place of false hope... even Nightmares are better in a way, because at least, you are glad you woke up from them.

I also never had a lucid Dream...

Dreaming about how life had become better for me in many ways only to wake up and find out that all this was fake.

Oh man, I hate that.

I've had a few lucid dreams. Supposedly you can increase the likelihood that you'll have them by constantly asking yourself "Am I dreaming?" even if you know you aren't. Eventually it will become second nature, and you'll catch on to the fact that things just don't seem right.

If you lucid dream, there's a strong chance you'll wake up soon after. You have to consciously distract yourself constantly, even if it means flapping your arms like an idiot. It's a dream, I promise no one can see you.

So, Morgan Freeman is a cop working late when people are starting to act weird. They are all standing around and staring at stuff, like in the middle of the street. Some guy drives right into a crowd of these people and Freeman gets out to arrest him. But when he gets up to them the guy who ran over the others stands up with a lot of slime in his face. Turns it this part was taken from that movie "The Invasion" with Nicole Kidman. Freeman realized that there's some sort of infection going on and starts running away from the infected people. But it goes rather smoothly, they just stand around and stare at him.
He runs along and searches for a car, and people are now starting to follow him, but they are all walking even though he's running. Like if they know that he won't find a useful car.
Then all of a sudden some other guy crashes his car into the street. Freeman runs over to that one and pulls out the driver GTA style.
The moment he gets into the car all the infected people are jumping on top of it. So he just gases and heads down the street. Turn out he did not want to kill anyone since they'll probably be returned to normal later.
So he's speeding down the streets in a dark (I suppose) New york as he passes a bus stop. There's a guy there waiting for the bus, and a lot of infected people following Freeman. For some reason, Freeman decides to turn around and pick the guy up. So they drive down the street talking about having to bail and get to some sanctuary. The guy slowly transform into John Kusack btw, no clue why. Then all of a sudden this girl tries to cross the street, so Freeman stands on his breaks stopping the car inches from her, she looks terrified and yell at them for driving too fast. She looks terrified as the two of them get out of the car, thinking that she'll be mugged or something. Then she starts apologizing when she realizes that Freeman is wearing a cop uniform and even (for some reason) offering to do personal favours to avoid getting a ticket. Freeman explains that there's an infection going on and that she is not safe, she gets into the back seat and they drive on.

The three of them drive down lane after lane (kinda dull) when the girl suddenly says that now when she finally got a ride she can get that Crispy bacon and cheese whopper burger at Burger king that she's been yearning for all night. Kusack says no, but Freeman agrees, he wants something for the road.
They park their car just in front of the entrance of burger king and Kusack manages to talk the girl into taking another burger that takes less time to prepare. They all get their burgers and head back out to the car when they realize that there are infected people standing in a semi-circle around the entrance of burger king staring at them. There even is a military person there with a gun, but he can't aim the guy. He just shoots into the ground.
They jump into the car and drives off when the girl says that there's another person in the back. Freeman stops the car when hearing that and tries to get out, but the car is getting filled with some gas, and the other girl don't seem to be affected.

Morgan Freeman and John Kusack wakes up in what seems to be a planetary. They look around and finds Balthier from FFXII, he's rambling about the "Gems of the desert winds" and looking at the telescopes. Morgan Freeman tries to talk to him but he's a rambling fool who does one-liners and crap. John Kusack wakes up the girl (the other one is missing) and he notices a military clad person on the opposite side of him. Suddenly there are all these roman pillars everywhere and they are in a round room, with spiral staircases down to the lower floor. The military on the other side is standing at a control panel and the girl sees all these soldiers passing him and heading down the staircase. John Kusack manages to grab the first soldier and steals his gun. But when he fires it, there is no recoil and no sound, it seems like it's shooting air. But tosses it at the second soldier and does a body slam right into the formation of soldiers moving upwards. They all stumble down the stairs and only one soldier remains at the bottom. He got his gun aimed at Kusack but Freeman fly kicks the gun out of his hand.
Kusack then performs a haymaker at the soldier's head. But the soldier gets up, so Freeman punches him right at the nose, but he gets up again. So Kusack kicks him in the face. Now he's down.

The room is suddenly returned to be a planetary when Kusack and Freeman walks up the other staircase to see the military at the control panel. He's already dead and Balthier is standing on top of him saying nonsense about leading men.
The girl takes of the helms of the soldiers downstairs and realizes that they are all Morgan Freeman, and thinks that their Morgan Freeman is some sort of alien / clone / cyborg as well and grabs a gun.
Kusack turns on the control panel and a screen shows that Lunar Tear scene from FFVIII. Balthier gets all excited and says that the lunar tear is the gem of the desert winds and he needs to catch it when it reaches earth.
Then the girl shoots Morgan Freeman and Balthier shoots her, and to answer that Kusack shoots Balthier. They are all bleeding and apologizing for shooting each other. Then Morgan Freeman realizes that Kusack wasn't shot so he shoots him. All their blood is gathering at one point and it forms a gemstome. The gem of the desert winds.
Balthier acts all arrogant and talks about how he knew it would come to this and grabs the gemstone. Then they exit the planetary and cures everyone by placing the gemstone at the top of an SUV and driving around in town.

The end when I finally woke up.

I have very similar nightmares, sai. Where I know its a dream, but whatever is scaring me is still frightening as hell. And then the typical things like, feeling glued to your spot while something is chasing, not being able to scream, narrowly escaping death, those things still happen. They're almost made more real by being sort of lucid.

Not really a bad dream, but I remember this from a recent one:

Zombie apocalypse has started. Myself, a friend, and three or four other people ran to this hospital (I seem to recall it being quite homely with an orange tint on everything.) We ran up about twelve stories informing people of the imminent zombies and went to the roof. With the hospital, we had plenty of supplies and food, so the first night came.

During the night, my friend got the bright to take our roof Hummer. Because we had a Hummer on the room for some reason. So he drove it off the roof, landed perfectly on a road, and went off to get fast food. Out of everything we could've thought right there, we chose "wtf he took our car!"

So I slid down the side of the building in who knows what fashion. I landed and walked over to phone booth on the side of a small dirt road that passed by the hospital and called him. He said he was on his way back. I hung up, and the next thing I know, the Hummer comes sliding down the road. On its side. On fire. Ok, that part sucked.

So I started walking back to the hospital, and the people on the roof apparently forgot that I was down there. And suddenly had assault rifles. They shot at me (originally, I couldn't get a good estimate of how tall the hospital was for the first paragraph, until I thought back to this part and counted the floors from that memory,) and I dove for cover behind the corner of a small wing of the hospital. I shouted at them they it was me and that they were morons. I think their reply was "Oh."

The next that happened was that I turned around and suddenly my friend who took the Hummer was walking up to me. Then he turned into an old lady. Who was also a zombie. I remember being completely exhausting and not having enough strength to run away. I started trying to back away, and she reached forwards. Then I died. I'm not quite sure how. If I had to guess, I'd say my douche baggy team on the roof saw the old lady, went "ZOMBIE", started firing again, believing that assault rifles are accurate shots from twelve stories high, and hit me in the head.

I retract my earlier statement. I'd say any dream where you get killed, especially by asshats on your side being asshats, is a bad dream.

Dude I just dreamt an entire Disney/Kingdom Hearts related cartoon in my head. It was completely animated except Sora was involved, and even he looked slightly animated/cartoon involved.
It took place in at a really cartoonish looking castle, I'm assuming the Disney castle from Kingdom Hearts, but it was mainly gold and orange with red roofs. The castle was basically a giant clock. Little objects popped out at certain times like a giant running train station and those old school Disney rides.
It looked like there was some kind of garage sale going on in the front lawn/gardens. It was led by Minnie and Daisy. I remember seeing Donald as a wizard, Huey, Dewy & Louie, Horace if you know who he is, and Pete helping and holding things to sell. Mickey was dressed up in some kind of armor and was obsessed with protecting the castle.
The customers looked like disney villains made out of different pieces of different ones. One looked like Malificent. Another looked like the evil queen. All of the random villains here were wearing red/black like the queen from Alice and wonderland.
While making rounds in the castle you see the old witch version of the queen sneaking around. She's different from the ones on the grounds. Here it felt like I was playing Sly Cooper. She was popping in and out trying to avoid Mickey, sometimes hurting herself. I even heard music with oboes and clarinets. After about the 5th try Mickey finds her and is about to kick her out. They try to go through one exit when a woman walks past them. I couldn't see who she was from the angle I was at. I was looking down or something? She was wearing a shorter enough dress so I could see her legs. She also had some kind of cape thing. At this point I heard some horror music. I got a mix of the woman being hot and being scary. I could see the witch lady laughing and she was giving me the same vibe.
Next scene, we're back outside at the sale. Same vibe/nothing special, when mickey goes all paranoid and puts the castle on lock down. He even locked himself out. He was also more brownish? Everybody goes crazy and tries to break into the castle. Here Sora pops up. Him and Horace try to get Mickey out of the phase he's in and even slap him.
Suddenly I get this chill like there's a threat in the main part of the building. Like a throne room. Everyone else gets it too. Mickey tries to get in but he can't. Horace casts a spell on him and he turns into Goofy? Even Mickey is like WTF at his reflection. They said he wasn't trying to be himself or something, like how these cartoons usually have a lesson and that somehow gets them inside.
Here we find the actually Goofy tied up and chained to the floor. There are some other characters there, mainly Max and Clarabell. Goofy starts explaining that he tied everyone up himself to protect the castle. Here we see Mickey back to himself talking about his knights. They were Horace, Sora, Goofy, and even Powerline from A Goofy Movie! :D You could feel the threat getting stronger.
I'm calling it a bad dream because I didn't get to see how it ended. :( I mainly wanted to see who the woman was.
