Isn't this the first time he died?
Before today, which is likely going to be the last time as he's ACTUALLY dead, there were constant rumours about him dying.
Hence the joke.

New product from Apple: The iDead.

In all seriousness, the man had pancreatic cancer.  There's really nothing to do about it except get your will straightened out.

That explains why he was stepping down.

Like Apple products or not, he was an incredibly good salesman. You have to be to convince people buying stuff for those sort of prices is at all sane.

I think it is a shame, not that Steve Jobs died, not that the (former) leader of Apple died, but that a man died - to cancer - who was just 57. That's old, but not old enough.

Addendum: I don't like Apple or its products

Quite simply, the real tragedy is knowing that nobody, regardless of age, status, wealth, cultural impact, or anything else, is safe from such a horrible fate.

Man, I feel sad for knowing anyone died.

My ex-girlfriend is comparing his death to ****ing Amy Winehouse.
I'm appalled, and extremely offended.

That baffles me.

Not because I was particularly saddened by either, but because I don't see the connection at all.

Sudden media coverage.

Also she's dumb.

Steve Jobs did a lot for computers back in the 80s and maybe even early 90s but modern Apple has jack **** to do with the original goals they had with computers, and are pretty much just pandering to hipsters with lots of money to blow. Which is betteri n the long run for them as a company, it makes them a shitload more money, but it's kinda sad.

Technically late 70s :V. The Apple II was in 77.
But yeah. He's done a ton of really awesome stuff for computing and entertainment as a whole (he helped start Pixar, and I'm pretty sure teenagers would be dead nowadays without mp3 players), and I greatly respect the man. Just not his products and/or company and/or fans.

he helped start Pixar

That's more than enough for me.

Sounds like a healthy relationship.

Good guy.

Dodgy business practices, but I suppose that's necessary when you get to his level.

Sounded like a healthy relationship.
Fix'd.
I refuse to talk to her, now. She's one of the vainest people I've ever met.
But, enough about girl problems, that's not what Charas is for.
