Here, let's have something to do.

My desktop is all tabletop gaming. I lead an exciting life.
-
My PC graphics card has been FUBAR'd for a while, so I've been using my work Macbook.

Icons, from left to right:
- Finder
- Aurora (Firefox Alpha Channel)
- Thunderbird (Email)
- Colloquy (IRC, we use it a ton at Mozilla)
- Adium (MSN + AIM)
- Twitter (Coworkers use Twitter a lot, so I read their stuff)
- iTerm2 (An awesome Terminal emulator)
- Emacs (Text Editor, I do all of my programming with this)
- GitX (A fork of a good GUI for version control)
- Sublime Text 2 (Text Editor, trying this out as an Emacs replacement, not working out)
- Wunderlist (Todo list app, is kind've mediocre)
- KeyPassX (Reads KeyPass1 files, where I store most of my passwords)
- Sequel Pro (MySQL client, use it to mess with my local databases)
- MultiFirefox (Lets me easily choose a profile and version of Firefox for testing webpages)
- Settings
- iBank (Sometimes use this for financial planning)
- Telephone (I can make calls from my work phone from my laptop)
- Songbird (iTunes replacement that runs on the Mozilla platform)
- Audio Overload (Plays NSF, GBS, PSF, other game music formats)

Mine isn't all that interesting. It swaps between a bunch of Blizzard concept art every 5 minutes or so. Some warcraft 3, some world of warcraft, some starcraft and a bunch of diablo (3). Kinda nifty.
I try to keep it as clean as possible otherwise. Since everything on my real life desktop is all messy. Some Lego zerglings and a lugia mini figure and such.

Run with Aero off because some windowed games ran with crappy framerate with it enabled.[/spoiler]

That's kinda cool looking Felix, but man is that taskbar unsightly. Fix it!
-
It's cool in a lame way. Taskbar is totally eye-raping, yeah.

My laptop overheats. I have it on the lowest graphical setting possible so that it can not overheat 24/7 :/
I have a cooling mat and everything.
-
Personally, I prefer the simplicity of the old 98 style.

JFK Reloaded? Are you serious?
-
Personally, I prefer the simplicity of the old 98 style.
It looks fine, really, but not with such a fat taskbar.
-
I hate the look. Always have. It screams generic. So did the ugly-*** beige-cased everything from the period.
God, I hated computers (aesthetically) for so many years.
-
I always thought that the beige casing was due to the plastic degrading in storage. Dead serious.
That's probably because I'm not really old enough to remember owning a really old computer. I remember our computer being state of the art, at the time that we bought it.
Of course, nowadays it can't really play anything.
-
Hey guys, remember dial-up? Holy ****.
-
I hate my small display.
Also, I haven't changed a thing since our last desktop thread. So go dig that up if you want to know what I'm rocking.
-
Didn't you have the Scribblenauts wallpaper?
Anyway, I use Windows 7 and my wallpapers change every minute. Here's one.

Ignore the ugly NES icons I tried to make.
-
Ninjah? Nice.
-
Surprised no one commented on the sunflower in my pic.
I fukken love Plants vs Zombies
-
Thanks, Homestuck, for giving me an idea for a new wallpaper! Oh, how it's finally time for a change.

YES

I found out that an out-of-use TV my dad had has a DVI-in port. I took advantage, and now have a decently sized display. Also, an HDTV. To celebrate, it's new wallpaper time.

Damn, I'm almost jealous. That's pretty rad-bitchin'.
-
Mine's nothing special, but oh well.

Yeah, I never really pimp out my desktop.

I think I have too much stuff!
Also, the background changes every 5 minutes to another paintsplat version of an assmark.
And for those curious, no, Password.txt does not actually keep any passwords in it.
It's my "save" file for Pandemonium 2. Because nostalgia.

Where did you get these? I've never seen them.
-
Here you go (http://owlet57.deviantart.com/gallery/34425149).
You'll have to dig around in the comments for the completely black version of Rainbow Dash's.
-
Rock on. Thanks a bunch, man.

Yeah I could use a bunch more desktop icons. Like to keep the space open. Puts most windows on the right side of the screen so few icons on the left allows me for larger windows. Or something.
-
K.C. Green's a pretty cool guy. (http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c268/X_marks_the_ed/IMANATTENTIONWHORE.png)
-
That kind of minimalism is sure to get you all the indie cred.
-
It's better than when it was all white.
Seriously, dude, major eyebleed.
-
Good news everybody! My computer is up and running again. Replaced the hard drive, and upgraded to 8 gigs of ram for shits and giggles too. After a clean install of Windows 7 and a slew of drivers and such, everything is in working order.
And it's pretty.

Ooh, new Animals as Leaders. I must buy.
-
I recommend it wholeheartedly to anybody who likes nice things.

Pretty sweet.
Oh damn, whenever this thread gets updated, I need to find a new wallpaper. Now I need to go hunting...
EDIT: Ok, here's something, we'll see if I still like it better than Mastodon in the morning. (P.S. I like BTBAM a lot).

Just formatted the thing yesterday some I'm still missing some crap, and things aren't organized as I would like them to be. Also, imagine if you will EDI communicating with me.
I liked Mass Effect 3.

My desktop is still the same one from awhile back.
-
My desktop asploded, so I'm on my laptop with stock wallpaper. BORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGG.
-
I'm one of those minimalist asshats. Screw desktop icons, screw having a desktop in general; all I need are wallpapers, a system tray, taskbar, and some system monitoring to be happy. Running #! linux if anyone is interested, pretty damn slick for a minimal debian derived distro.
