For anyone that has played Monster Hunter, Smash Bros, Mario Strikers, or any other game that is capable of a great moment, there's always that one or many moments that make you feel proud.
Just recently in Monster Hunter Tri, a Rathalos tried to fly charge at me but I smacked him right outta the air. Moments like those makes you feel great. Please feel free to share a moment of yours from any game! :)

Well, I don't have the video anymore. I deleted it off of my Youtube account a while ago, I don't have a copy anymore, and I can't find it in my replays...
...but I was playing Falco (actually Random, as I always do) in WiFi against Zelda's Din's Fire (as in, that's all the opponent did), and we both end up in sudden death. I leap from the lower left platform over the center platform to the lower right platform as the Zelda uses Din's Fire immediately from the upper right platform.
The plan:
-Land on lower right platform as my reflector cancels the Din's Fire. Immediate buffered Upsmash. Profit.
What happens:
-The game hates me and turns my reflector into a Falco Phantasm past the platform and over the edge.
I fall towards the acid. As I'm about to facepalm the hardest I have ever in my life, I bounce back upwards from the acid, still DIing slightly to the left just enough to crash into Zelda, knocking her into the air with me. We both get KOed, but Zelda gets the screen bump death animation while I scream and spin around the background about to Star KO. Suffice to say, the game counted her death first, netting me the victory anyways.

I have many Smash Bros moments. One from Melee me and my friend dubbed Freezie Star Headbutt Smash is when we were on the DK stage with the crocodiles jumping up to kill you and it was a team match, us vs the computers. He grabs a freezie and freezes the guy, I instantly grab a star and smash into our opponent, then he keeps the combo going with a headbutt and then I meteor smash him from the headbutt into the watery abyss! It was awesome and we do have it on video :)
Or the one I dubbed the revenge meteor smash. Melee again. DK kills me and i got really mad in the pokemon stadium so my friend hits DK and he starts to come back as I am responding. I just straight out of the respond platform and Meteor Smash the hell outta DK before landing on the stage. It was extremely satisfying!

I've had almost a dozen moments similar to Ed's. I'm a jaded ****er.
I have a moment from Battlefield 2142 where my squad of six took a building overlooking a control point. I'm not in the mood for writing about the events in fantastical action-narration, so I'll keep it brief: We held the building down for half an hour, killing about a hundred of the enemy team's members, before they finally managed to flush us out with two battle walkers and three squads flooding up the stairs. I was one very busy medic that game. Got a Gold Star (first place, most points earned out of 64 players).

Many great moments in brawl, most of them not saved because of the time limit though. But a lot of great falcon punches have been delivered by a friend of mine. There is nothing he can't paunch. Everytime you're about to get a kill he just uses that momentum to falcon punch the enemy in the air. They get hit by a mine, they fly up to die, gets falcon punched in the face. He got some awesome timing with that thing.
Also pictochat with 4 ganondorfs and a selected arsenal of weapons. Madness.
Favourite moment must be my friends huge fail in worms armageddon. Just another worms day, he throws a grenade. Gets it wrong. Explodes and hit one of his own worms and a mine. The mine rotates into the air and activates from passing a worm. Lands next to a oil can that explodes and ignites a second oil can. The worm close to the second can glides over to a mine that goes of and he flies straight into another worm and pushes him down a ledge on top of a third worm and they all 3 land on another mine gets blasted and lands in the water.
At the same time this happened the worm struck by the grenade in the beginning just finished dancing with 6 mines and the fire from two oil cans have just burned another worm to death. The total death toll was 6 worms. All of them his own.
-
I love worms for that reason. You never know when something awesome like that's gonna happen.
Most of my favourite moments, unfortunately, have been scripted parts of rpgs so I may as well be talking about my favourite films : p I've definately seen some stuff along the lines of what you guys are talking about but I don't have a very good memory >_> ...
-
TF2: Deflecting a crit rocket back at a Soldier is just a massive "F*** YOU!" right in their face! It's great!
Smash Bros: Hitting someone out the screen with a fully-charged B attack from Ike.
Arkham City: Beating up 30 thugs without taking a single hit, then watching Batman dust himself off as if nothing even happened.

And I have a friend who doesn't like Worms. Can you believe that?
-
I stay the hell away from grenades for that very reason.
-
Fun with Holy Hand Grenades and Super Banana Bombs...
I've had a few nice moments in various games, too. Only problem is my memory fails to bring back these moments in my head. So yeah...
-

This. Also, killing a spy, then being the only one around who can destroy his sappers.
-
Soul Calibur 5 : Getting a perfect on nightmare on hard difficulty arcade.
Dark Cloud 2: Beating the hell out of a boss with your robot
Neutopia: Getting the Max health Fire rod.
FF6: Getting all the dragons/Odin in the world of ruin.
League of Legends: anytime getting a pentakill

Just thought of one. Not all that awesome, but still nice.
I was playing Call of Duty (yes, I know) and someone threw a flash grenade in my face. As a reflex, I sort of just tried to turn and... well, I don't know, maybe I wanted to walk back from where I was. However, I often accidentally press on the analog when I try to turn fast, resulting in a knife hit in the air. The number of times i died due to that...
However, this time, this accidental knife lead me to kill the one who flashed me (as in... throwing a flash grenade, not showing breasts). That was pretty nice.
That's all that came back to mind, though. My memory sucks.
-
Oh? I had a game of counter-Strike where I killed a team of five (all headshots) while spraying after a flash went off in my face.
So, you know, suck it.
-
Well mine was accidental, making it better. Hah!
-
Mine was spraying as a fear reflex, and won an entire round. Still better.
-
All right, all right, you win...

Anyone mentioned Luca Blight yet? Probly not.
Luca Blight. Best goddamn RPG boss ever. From Suikoden II
Takes 18 characters, a group of elite archers, one betrayal from enemy officers, one surprise night attack by the populace of an entire castle to the heart of the enemy force, and plain blind luck, all at the same time. And what for? To kill one, non-special, non-superpowered man, who won't die just because he has too much hatred towards every living thing to accept dying and letting them live.
You ambush him, turn him into a pincushion with arrows, and he counterattacks and defeats 6 of your best warriors (to compare; by this point in game, it is routine for 6 warriors to be able to capture an entire city by themselves). You ambush him with other 6 of your best warriors, lob all city-destroying magic you have at him. He again counterattacks and defeats them all. Keep in mind he's still bleeding from the arrows. You finnally attack him with your 6 best(est) warriors, and... he survives, but retreats.
Keep in mind, each of these 6-on-1 battles take on average 20 minutes. Whereas most bosses could be killed in, like, 10, if you knew what you were doing.
You follow him, he is betrayed into giving away his position, and your archers put even more arrows into him.
Then he laughts it off and charges at you, starting a 1-on-1 duel.
And even his dying words are a mockery, pointing how weak you were next to him.
"It took hundreds to kill me, but I've slain humans by the thousands!"
If there is any moment in gaming that made me a fanboy, it was that battle.
-
Now that I think about it, I never did finish that game.
Guess I'll have to remedy that.
-
Another moment for me is in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance on the trial map where you're on an isolated island and people come to kill you. I left Ike there alone and it wasn't fair for the people who attacked him, he's a beast!
-
Watching my friend speedrun Fire emblem path of radiance. That one tight room where you have to defeat the black knight. Some laguz pushed ike, another one pushed ike 2 tiles forward. Ike moved just so that he could reach black knight right away. He attacks, critts both attacks and it was just the ammount of damage needed to beat him.
Also Pokemon heart gold. Got to the league, bad party. Got my ampharos with thunder and quick claw. Managed to trigger quick claw, hit and crit with thunder against all the dragonites. Then Aerodactyl came and raped it. Still, the hard part of the battle was gone.

Sequence breaking the **** out of Metroid: Zero Mission is fun as hell.
Examples: Getting the Varia Suit immediately after getting bombs.
Skipping the Long Beam.
Getting Super Missiles after killing Kraid and then using them to kill Imago, and THEN to get the Screw Attack way early.
I think I've played Metroid a 'lil too much.
-
I can't sequence break. Not enough brain juice or something.
-
I'd sacrifice all my limbs for a new 2D metroid game :(
-
I'd sacrifice the lower half.
Still gotta be able to play, you know.
-
Same here.
-
I still haven't beaten Super Metroid... lol
-
I barely played it. Prime spoiled me.
-
That's an odd sentiment.
-
Majora's Mask. No damage against Gyorg.
**** Gyorg.
EDIT: Everyone else says he's easy. WHY CAN I NOT PLAY VIDYA GAEMS.
-
I regret playing Majora's Mask just to beat it... I used the strategy guide. Hopefully they follow through with 3DS release and make a master quest for it! That would be fuckin' swwweeeeettt!! Zelda's my all-time favorite franchise.
-
Random fact; I don't like Majora's Mask.
Sub-quests are pretty fun, but the main quest itself and having only 4 dungeons... meh. Being forced to go back to first day every time you want to save (screw the owl statues) and losing everything when you do kinda sucks, too. Also, having to get like 56 heart pieces is annoying.
So yeah, don't like this game. The 2D ones are still my favourites... except for Zelda II.
-
I didn't mind the 3 days, it gave you that extra pressure you didn't want, but did want. And think about it, this Link is the Hero of Time, so he had to do some time traveling. And I like how link became an ***hole. Doing those flips jumping over gaps. We get it, you're the Hero of Time, but is that necessary?
-
Meh. I found the three days limit annoying. I hate time limits.
Sure, you can go back in time, but I found that extremely annoying. Then you had to buy everything back.
At least they had this magic bank which could hold all your money through time, but was still annoying.
Then you have 50+ Pieces of Heart to find because there is only 4 dungeons (even the first Zelda game had double that) and the World map sucks.
The bosses are also lame. I mean, I can tolerate the giant Indian guy, but the second boss is completely lame. Haven't really seen past that, but I've heard the third is a large fish or something and the fourth is just 2-3 giant Lanmolas, which end up not being giant at all because you get this mask which I think only serves for this boss.
Haven't really seen the last fight, but the rest of the game makes me not even care about it.
And Lucas, legends say that Ocarina of Time went out on the N64 before. Perhaps this could be an alternative?
Though on the other hand, 3DS will get more games coming out for it, so I guess that'd be a better expanse.
-
Then you had to buy everything back.
Meh. I just throw on the Goron mask and roll around Termina field through grass patches for a minute, builds up enough equipment to move on.
-
Uhm, that's true. I still find it annoying, though.
And I guess you can also say that bombs were unnecessary once you get the Bomb Mask.
-
I liked how in Ocarina of Time the first 3 dungeons as a kid were short and then when you became an adult, the dungeons became more complex and challenging.
Majora's Mask was made within 2 or 3 years. So if you think about it, they kinda had to rush it. That's how they came up with the 3 Day Time period. Plus I like the darkness within it. Plus the many side quests sorta made up for it and the heart pieces made you explore more I guess.
Then we have Wind Waker. Love that game! Ppl's main complaint (other than graphics) was the sea, but if you get the warp song then it's not that bigga deal. It's my top 2.
Twilight Princess comes along and that game was just massive. Besides it being easy, it was great! And I've spent an hour fishing for a few days cuz it's just relaxing.
Then 5 years later comes Skyward Sword. My favorite dungeon was the ship. I didn't even know it was a dungeon until I obtained the Map lol. Thing that annoyed me most was the treasure indication whenever you reset the game. TP had that same problem except it included blue, yellow and purple rupies. They could've made Demise a little harder too and could've gave him a 2nd form....
