Title: Interesting Request
Post by: drenrin2120 on July 11, 2012, 06:28:07 PM
So, right to the point, anybody at all know about Cherry's DYNRPG? If not, do you know C++? I'm asking for a really... REALLY minor plug in that would make the DBS worth using. I figured through a combination of heavy edits to the DBS within the maker and a minor tweak that would allow me access to some key variable data, one could feasibly create their own battle algorithms. The idea:

If the last character used skill ID was stored in a variable.

Theoretically, when a character uses a skill, a battle event can be triggered. If the skill attacks a single enemy, there is already a conditional within the DBS called "________is current target". Meaning... there's a built in targeting system, but no way of knowing which skill was selected. If that problem were solved, all types of custom skills could be neatly packaged under any skill subset the creator wanted. In my case, a custom normal attack algorithm along with thief options, analyze, defend, restore Adrenaline, and any other algorithm I can dream up. Attacks based on max hp/mp, attacks based on Adrenaline level, Attacks based on number in party, attacks based on amount of money possessed. The only thing preventing all this is that nasty little impassable barrier, identifying which skill a player selects.

So yeah, using DYNRPG, this should be a pretty simple plugin. Maybe allowing which variable the information is stored in to be changed by the creator within the DYNRP.ini file. I don't know how that'd work, but that's why I'm asking if anyone could or would be able to do this! PEEZE. Osmoose? Where are you!  :'(

I've been using the DynRPG plugin too, and it's frickin' brilliant in every way! Sorry though, I fall more into the realm of C#.... and then I'm also crap at C#.

I can't tell if they're a bot, either.
The posts are becoming increasingly disjointed.

I get internet next week, I'll look at the Cherry SDK and see how difficult it'll be.
Quick note, though: I'm a C++ novice.
I'm muuuuch better at C#

Next Thursday Comcast is coming over to hook us up.
After I flash my phone I'll give it a look.

I got sick of waiting so I just went to the DynRPG website and looked at the API.
Assuming that I can add stuff to the RPGM GUI, this is very possible.
If that's not so, I might be able to work around it (setting a Variable to whatever to say a certain skill was used), but we won't know for sure until I actually do some real work.

Well, it sounds promising, but I don't know what the RPGM GUI is.

The actual Maker.
I can't edit it :V

I'll figure something out, though, it's well within the limits of the patch.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the patch edits only the .exe file within specific games, leaving the actual maker alone.
