I'm watching Dragon Ball Z, Goku just launched the mega spirit bomb at Frieza, and I'm also trying to shop around for an HD tuner and DVR for epic sexiness. Can you imagine being able to record It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, in HD no less, and not have to stay up until 10 in the evening (22 for you with weirdass clocks) when you have to get up for work at 3?

How are you today?

I'm currently watching a chiptune music video that was programmed on a Commodore 64
Coma Light 13 - Oxyron - Commodore 64 demo - X2012 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBegD7k2wvo#)

's kind of crazy

That's fairly trippy. I especially enjoyed 6 minutes in with the boats.

I suppose that there storm is making it a bit hard fore some people. Might be wrong and the weekend is coming up. So...

How is that election going? I heard that there's this one guy who got the thing in the bag by now.

How is everyone feeling about the protagonist in Assassins creed 3 being a native American? Any opposing movements like when they tried to replace the black girl in the Hunger games movie?

Should the EU give another try at introducing Esperanto as a lingua franca? Didn't work last time, mostly because of the French.

Anyone got Resident evil 6 yet? I mean holy crap the game has been released but I've been too caught up to buy it.

How do you feel about Dead or alive dimensions (3ds) being stopped in Scandinavia because under aged girls are portrayed in sexy ways and skanky outfits? Can a video game or anime character be underage? Would it be no problem if the manual stated that they were in fact a few years older?

Anyone else noticed that the story cutscenes of fighting games are similar to bad porno movies? Like two people just happen to meet, something forced happens and they decide to fight, bad acting, squeezing in as many characters as possible ect.

How many of you have tried any of the games I posted some week back? I know the games I make are a bit hard but you're grown up people you should be able to finish those in an hour or so.

How about Disney buying the rights for star wars and all the other lucas art stuff? They did a good job on Pirates of the Caribbean so I have faith in them people. But what about games like monkey island and grim fandago? Is it possible that these could be used in the upcoming Kingdom hearts 3?

Holy crap I'm going to Canada soon!

Depends!
If you ask a Democrat, Obama is for sure definitely going to win.
If you ask a Republican, Romney simply can't lose.
Truth is, I have no ****ing clue who is going to win, but I can only hope it's Obama.
Romney reminds me of ****ing Nixon.
Title: Re: Guys, come on
Post by: oooog on November 01, 2012, 10:43:15 PM
Although I would prefer 'Bama to win, sadly the Romney supporters are far more enthused about this election and have been preparing to vote for months now. Everyone already knows who they are going to vote for already, and anyone who says that they are still undecided is lying or isn't going to vote. I will be ecstatic when these commercials finally come to a close.

I keep seeing this absolutely absurdly racist commercial pop up on TV.
It's set in some sort of Chinese lecture room, with the professor giving a lecture on how "we own america's debt, and so we own them".
It's seriously up there with WWII propaganda cartoons.

I'm not all that into American politics. But do people really vote for a person and not the political party that s/he represents? Seems kinda odd to me since Sweden have a lot of different parties (although declining every year that pass).
Title: Re: Guys, come on

Well technically speaking, we're not even voting for our president in the sense that most believe. The president actually has far less power than many people think. What you are actually voting for when you vote for your president is [as you stated] what way you want the officials to lean, among other things, such as should a vacancy in the supreme court appears the president may fast-track candidates for congress approval. We actually do not even really vote for the president either. When we vote, we're voting democratic or republic, and in doing so we actually are voting for our representatives who will in turn vote for the president, and each state has a certain amount of representatives, so in a manner of speaking it is entirely possible for a candidate to win despite not having the majority population vote for them [See: our last president].
So essentially, we are voting representatives to vote for our candidate who will vote in certain members who will actually be the ones who vote for the things that your preferred ideology will lean. Centrists are pretty much screwed.

Vague explanation indeed, but that is our politics as I understand them under the influence of the one and only Sam Adams.

Basically, voting in America doesn't really matter. Anyone see Jill Stein get arrested? That was pretty cool. I would love a third party in America, but it'll never happen with the current way debates and campaigns are run in America.

On the Disney buying Lucas thing:

I think nothing of the purchase. It's not like Disney's going to hover over their shoulders from now on. They just own them, will fund them, and will take a healthy chunk of their profits. Business as usual otherwise. The thing that bothers me is that they announced Episode VII. I have no faith in Star Wars sequels anymore.

Sorry, I've been in London doing stuff.

Yeah, the Lucas news is crazy. George having less to do with the films can only be a good thing, though.

I spent the last 4 days on dial up speed, downloading Breaking Bad season 5 at a breakneck pace of 0-8kbps
It hasn't been great

Unlike Breaking Bad which I discovered recently, which is amazing.
I also discovered Shirokuma Cafe, which is also fantastic.

Such is my wonderful life

A lot of tv shows should just end. Like charmed, or supernatural, or fringe, or friends, lost, greys anatomy Ect ect ect ect. There's just so many shows that manages to check off every tvtrope item.

Haven't all of those shows already ended?

Also, Razor, regale your tale of dial-up speeds. The world must know of the circumstances.

I'm doing NaNoWriMo, a yearly challenge to write an entire 50,000 page novel in the month of November.

http://www.nanowrimo.org/en/participants/saikar (http://www.nanowrimo.org/en/participants/saikar)

As long as I write at least 1666 words a day, I'll make it! So far, so good! But it's going to eat my soul and make a nervous wreck doing it.

Standard Australian used-all-my-quota deal. Which is only 12GB because of the region I live in. It's balls. Note: I do not live in balls, that's not what I said.
On the last day before I was capped I had 400mb left and I thought "well I can wait until morning and enjoy it then, or I can download as much breaking bad as possible before I get capped." So I did that and got a gigabyte before the slowdown.

Did I mention Breaking Bad is an exceptionally high quality program? Everything about it is high quality. **** is well off the hook. **** is not in contact with the hook. **** went to Hooks Anonymous and has its 30 day chip, that's how far **** is off the hook. And it's only going to get further off the hook.
I like Breaking Bad is what I am trying to say.

Yes but far after their expiration date. They should've ended when their time was up and not force another season.

If business worked that way, I'd agree. However, they kept making money, so I can't fault them for sticking with it.

Uh, actually, only Friends and Lost are actually done with.
All of the others are still running.
Which just strengthens your point.

Good god, Supernatural sucks now.
It used to be kinda awesome, but then they decided to continue it after the leads STOPPED THE ****ing APOCALYPSE
Seriously, how do you continue from there?
(hint: you don't)

Sorry for sounding all anti-american but I just don't get why we , Sweden, have election stuff live on tv for your presidential elections. Yeah sure you're getting a new president and all but I might as well just read about it in the paper.
It's not that big a deal.

Given that the US like it or not pretty much decides what is going to happen in the world along with a few other countries, it's sort of important to see who will be taking us there.

I just downloaded that pokedex pro for the 3ds (Yes I am a nerd), it cost some money but I think it was worth it.

The software have a whole bunch of "quizzes" such as "Who is this pokémon silhouette?", "what's the name of this pokemon?", "who is the pokemon described?", "What does this evolve into?", "What move is this pokemon unable to learn?", "What pokemon does this cry belong to?" and then the lovely "what letter form is this unown?".
Some are rather simple, some end when you make a mistake, some are timed, some give you barely any time at all and some are plainly hard. Like the pokemon cry and the moves. Abilities I can figure out. But when you get a pokemon and 4 options of moves where only 1 is right and you get like 3 seconds to answer - difficult.

Just wish they had something like this. http://www.sporcle.com/games/jacobchr/pokemon (http://www.sporcle.com/games/jacobchr/pokemon)

Starting to sound like All of All.
We had like what 4 days with no posts?

So I will use this for my own nefarious purposes.

Did you guys like Dungeon Keeper 1/2?
Are you resigned to the fact EA will never use the IP again, barring chinese MMOs you won't get to play?
Do you like Kickstarter?

Well some handsome chaps in the UK and other places have come together to make this thing right here.
It's looking like a pretty worthy successor of DK and I want it to succeed so badly. If they get enough they'll even get that guy who did the voice from the first two games.

I tried "tipping" Kotaku AU but it's been a week with no reply, so this monday I am going to tip Kotaku US. Then Giant Bomb. Games journalism will be my sword in this fight for awareness!

Never played anything from the franchise, but I'm not really sure if it's my kind of game to begin with. I like Kickstarter, but there are a lot of flaws that scare me away from it most of the time. Still, I've already backed a few projects (Tim Schafer's adventure game, the Homestuck game, Wasteland 2, and a spiritual successor to the SWAT series by the name of Takedown), so I guess I don't distrust it as much as I claim.
Title: Re: Guys, come on
Post by: Razor on December 14, 2012, 03:45:10 AM
Yeah, there are risks.
Like that woman who did a video game kickstarter and would go on to say she isn't making the game because the Sun told her not to. Yes, the Sun. Sol. The big flaming sphere of hydrogen and helium. It told her not to make the game.
Yeah.
Or more noticeably, the woman who claimed she was going to do a series of videoes on sexism against women in video games, raised a billion dollars and hasn't produced a single video. She has managed to find time to fly across the country hold seminars about being harassed on the internet, or something.

So far I've thrown money at this War For The Overworld thing, the Homestuck thing, Project Eternity, and I am considering going in for Ryan North's new book. It sounds like a lark.

I have a bit of a negative view on people begging for money online. It kinda feels like it's making the scamming of people a much easier process. Y'know, if I'm gonna give someone money I want some sort of assurance that it's gonna happen, not just "if you donate 100$+ you'll get a preorder collectors edition, if you donate 300+ we'll name an ingame horse after you"
