Title: How to take a chara sheet and edit it?
Post by: Bloodangel8 on January 21, 2013, 03:03:47 AM
I want to edit a chara sheet of pokemon I found on http://spriters-resource.com (http://spriters-resource.com), but everytime I do it, there is a chara moving with the original, could someone explain to me how to edit it for rpg maker 2003?

Um... not sure what you mean. First things first, make sure you have your sheet dimensions correct: 288x256, remember that's 2x4 rows, 8 characters sprites.

Each row of a character have 3 frames, so if you want to swap a character to your desired pokemon you need to replace all 3 of those frames. Otherwise you will see the two frames of the original character when it becomes animated.
If this was the problem, I'm just guesssing here.
Each character is 12 frames. 3 for the up direction 3 for the right, 3 for down and 3 for left. So you need to change all of those.

You can also use a template instead of pasting stuff into an existing charset.
