I'm sure most of on here have heard about the horrible elementary school shooting not too long ago before the holidays. Some crazy young man shot over 20 children, ages between 5 and 6 and a teacher. Myself being 23 years old, with my Daddy emotions starting to appear, was struck with pain when I heard about lil kids being murdered. Being so young, not understanding what dying truly is, so innocent with nothing but their futures ahead of them. A parent to lose their child is one of the most painful things they can go through. And to hear about people saying it was all a lie just so the government could get rid of the right to bear arms is shameful and disgraceful. People that lost their kid and someone to say, "oh, you're just hiding it because you were paid off" is probably one of most ignorant and rude things you can say to them. If I lost my child, hopefully me and none of you ever will, and someone told that to me or I heard about it? I would beat the living **** out of them.
That being said, do you guys think guns should be a right or if you're from another country; allowed to be bought and kept at home? It's tough for me to say, but I feel that if guns aren't taken away, it would still be extremely difficult to know if the person purchasing a gun is responsible enough to use one, or won't give it to a criminal. What do you guys think of the matter?

I vote we don't even go here, because this is a minefield of conversation and I don't want a shouting match to erupt.
-
I agree.
-
Go back to facebook or something if you want to have this conversation.
In other news, I think unreal tournament has the coolest guns of any game made to date. I mean, the portal gun is the best gun, but UT has multiple unique weapons that make up for it.
Resistance had cool guns too.
Halo.... MEH.
-
Yeah gotta say that this is a tad bit too early to discuss. Controversial to say the least.
USA is a special place.
Also, the guns in borderlands. So many goddamn friggin awesome guns, who wouldn't want a gun that shoots fire at the same time it is pointing out what a lousy shot you are? Or a handgun that you throw at enemies instead of releading?
-
My favourite legendary function wise is probably Veruc
It's soo...cooool.
-
I love the shock rifle. It felt so powerful in UT. Then it got progressively worse looking and feeling over the following games, even if it did the exact same damage.
-
I too like the shock rifle. I prefer that sort of 'accuracy is everything' weapon.
As for gun laws, Britain does okay without guns, but you'd have a helluva trouble tracking all the ones in America if you tried to ban them. Certain people would hand them over and other people would start shooting : p

facebook? i hate facebook. all ppl do is complain to get attention and post pics that nobody cares about. my ex used to be on that all the time and id be like... soo can we do something fun or productive? Glad that ended. Who complains about ppl hitting on them and saying theyre too nice to tell them to stfu? As for favorite guns? id say my arms :P

I always preferred the Flak Cannon. A shotgun and grenade launcher rolled into one? Yes, please. Of course, back in those days, I was a god among men when I had a sniper rifle, so I guess it was a handicap to use anything but. If only I didn't completely fall off the wagon when it came to sniping...

Seeking rockets and 1HKO bio gun thing were awesome too.
-
Yeah, the Bio Rifle was the bomb. I loved setting up fields of goo and leading pursuers into it. Easiest kills going. And if they were as good at dodging through the mess as I was, then I could always drop a massive blob on their faces for that insta-gib.
Speaking of which, I love playing Insta-Gib.

Link gun was sex when you had someone behind you charging it.
Translocator kills are hilarious.
They also had some of the coolest vehicles I can remember. Manta was like Banshee, only better. Kills with the scorpion were extremely gratifying. And don't get me started on the Leviathan >_<
-
Thanks guys, I'd almost forgotten why I frequent this forum.

Oh.
You're talking about UT 2004.
Yeah...
-
2004 was the one I played most because they had it on the PCs at uni and we all LANed it instead of doing work. It doesn't really matter what the game is if you compete at it frequently enough...
-
Moose, that is awesome. I would've done the same thing if I had a job back then.
UT3 wasn't even worth beating.
Yeah, I said it.
-
Nobody's arguing with you. Now go play the best UT (hint: it's the first one).
-
I dunno... it had chainsaws but lacked all the other cool stuff.
-
If you're gonna change the subject name, you might as well delete my first post guys haha
-
If we did, we'd delete the topic.
Sorry MIC, but all the cool stuff was already in UT99. No vehicles? No problem.
-
Well, it lacked the gameplay modes that use vehicles, which are pretty fun in themselves (I've always loved capture the base modes like onslaught and assault).
But, if I had to murry one... I'd make the flak cannon my waifu~. Or Auger from Resistance...
-
If I want large-scale done right, I'm playing Battlefield. UT just doesn't feel that good as a large-scale battle game. Therein lies the problem with UT04. It isn't as good when it comes to close-quarters action. It's fine, but it falls flat when compared to the original.
-
I was looking for this thread and I thought someone had deleted until I looked closer at the names. I laffed.
For what it's worth - and I really did love UT, it was the FPS of my childhood, even more than DN3D I think - I really enjoyed the vehicles and such that UT2004 offered. Its Assault mode was lacking though, and it didn't even have the old style domination which I liked.
But the maps and models were heaps fun to download.
-
I'm just biased because
Ok, maybe I don't have any reason. Perhaps that means I'm not biased and simply think that UT99 was more fun?

Plasma cutter from dead space is a pretty sweet gun. It is pretty much the only gun you need in the game, and you'll never run out of ammo for it as long as you don't buy any other weapons.
-
True as ****.

This is very true, although the assault rifle does wonders against the 2 bosses in the game. Seeing how there are weakpoints in need to be shot at.
The railgun rifle in MGS4 is also awesome, such a huge sniper rifle. Charges up bullets and makes the Gekkos go bye bye.
-
I forget, is that gun available in-game, or it is one of those unlockable post-game ones?
-
I still need to play MGS4...
-
I've been playing New Vegas an awful lot, lately.
Like, roughly four or so hours nightly. Probably more.
Anyways, ****ing Anti-Materiel Rifle with a silencer.
Best thing in the world, I swear.
-
Aw hell naw, Seeker Rifle. Singularity is a mighty underrated FPS.
Having fun with the Seeker - Singularity (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0k7Io7bs4zE#ws)
-
My favourite fallout gun was the backwater rifle in the fallout 3 expansions. That was amazing. Far better than any 10mm round gun had any right to be.
-

If reference to assault rifle in dead space: you get it kinda early in the game but it needs to be upgraded to be usefull, ammo stacks for it are rather large though so you'll have plenty of ammo.
If you asked about the railgun in MGS: you get it after you defeat that certain boss in chapter 4. The one that uses the railgun. There is a sniper rifle with almost the same damage though, good if you don't want to charge up some mass destruction.

before it was the seeker rifle, it was called the visibomb gun
Oh, yeah, that's a game that has GREAT guns.
Ratchet and Clank.
RYNO, anyone? Specifically the RY3NO, because it's awesomely fun.
-
prpl: sry, referencing mgs.
others: i remember playing through all of singularity and not having any of the guns be that memorable... the powers were more memorable than the guns imo. the part in that video, i remember just running in rambo style on the hardest difficulty, using like a regular machine gun or something. it was a good game, but i only rented it for 2 days so i had to beat it fast.
-
The RC Grenade Launcher was fun as hell. Sure, most of the guns were fairly run-of-the-mill, but the ones where they mixed things up were mighty cool. And aside from that, it was just a fun game.
Although yes, the powers were the real star. The time manipulation nonsense was pretty rad.

Ratchet and Clank.
YES! THIS!
My fav weapon is probably TF2's sticky jumper, because it's immensely fun and tactical!
Why the Sticky Jumper is the best weapon. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBp8LM2me4g#ws)
-
That is some fine shootin.
-
Mostly good pipebomb work, and nothing I can't do with the standard sticky launcher.
I'm pretty good at sticky jumping.
