Title: A recorce question
Post by: Shadow_754 on March 26, 2013, 12:17:37 AM
Is it alright to have new recorces in the RPT? For a while, I merely copy-pasted the new recorces into the RPT (This was only music). Now, I always use the recorce manager for uploading new material. My question is, would it make a big deal if I previous did this (Again, this is only for music, not chipsets, or anything elese), or should I just delete the extra recorces from the RTP, and only have them in the game folder?

Anything that is not part of the RTP should be put in your specific game folder. This includes music.
There won't be huge issues if you don't do it this way as long as you only make the game on one computer, but if you try to transfer the game/have others play it and files are in the RTP it could cause problems.

I think the biggest problem is that if you start another project, that project will also have all of those resources in it. Because the RTP is for all projects made with rpgm.
Sure, that might not be a problem but the size of each completed game will be unnecessary huge.

So use that resource tool or import manager or what it is called to import the resources into only that certain project.
