Title: Introductions from ... Well, Me.
Post by: SephirothSageDJ on July 11, 2013, 01:12:11 AM
Ahem.. Okay.. long time Roleplayer, and Gamer.. but I'm just now getting into RPGmaker usage- it seems very interesting, and all- and I'm quite enjoying it.. especially as a writer.. but I have no idea what I'm doing, Coding wise, or how to program things... I mean, I can write a story, but I'm having trouble with the coding... I came to this site, to look for Models, and request aid in the field of coding- preferably aid in the form of tutorial and teaching?

I mean, I see the potential of the program- but I am still figuring out how to use it.. Total beginer, never programed anything before.... but I really do want to.. I'm figuring out the basics of how the Program Works- but I still need some advice, and a bit of leaning in the right way would be invaluable.

Welcome; I will eat you with rice and peas.

I'll help you; but I don't have time to write a big tutorial on the basics. There's no coding involved in the basic functions, particularly if you're using an early rpgmaker like 2003, so just have a good go at it and post specific questions and I'll answer them.

RPGM is kinda good in the way that it's very pedagogical. More so Pre-windows vista when you could see the help files. It allows you to do most things and still offers the option of making more detailed things like Meiscool's game.

And besides that, just post any questions you have about programming or anything else for that matter. I don't like to just reply with the commands you need to input for the desired outcome after all.

Lastly, we have a Complete Resources from the Charas-project front page were you can reach all the charsets/resources that's been uploaded to the site. There have been some trouble with it after updates but it should be working again.

Hey.

It's probably not good practice to send new members to another community but here (http://rpgmaker.net/tutorials/) you go. They have a bunch of tutorials and I'm pretty sure you can find one to help you get started.

Welcome to the charas.(maybe I am being a bit too late...)

If you're searching for RM2k3 I would recommend you this site (http://rmt.divinelegy.com/).

I would recommend that you start with their RM Startup Guide (http://rmt.divinelegy.com/rmstartup.html).

Looking forward to your first project.^^
