Let's play!!!
steamid: Superevil (bearded guy eating yogurt.)
let's start new characters and do terrarian stuff.
-
Dammit, you beat me to it. Just casually browsed my steam when I noticed this.
To summarize some of the things I've noticed so far: a minimap, a new NPC, more variety on blocks than just the colour, slight graphic update on stuff and penguins.
And bigger inventory and the chests hold like 2-3x the ammount of items. I don't even remember anymore because it's so great!
steam name is obviously Prpl_mage

I may show up, but I have so many things to juggle right now. GTA Online, Terraria 1.2, and the Battlefield 4 beta all launched today. On top of that, I find myself hopelessly addicted to League of Legends, and they had a major patch today as well.
Guys, October 1 is one super-busy day, and it's setting me up for a super-busy week/month.
-
Walking seamlessly up one-brick slopes without slowing done: great thing, or greatest thing?
-
It sounds like I should give Terraria a shot..
-
Yeah, probably.
-
We had a lot of fun, everyone should join us next time.
-
I don't have Terraria, but feel free to add me on steam either way in case there are other games: Dr. Ace, the hand saying "Not Penny's Boat"
-
I don't have Terraria
Oh, welcome out of your cryogenic cold sleep from the 90s or so. A lot has changed. The first thing you should probably do is pick up Terraria.
-
Got terraria during the steam sale for like 4€ or so, it was worth the money before this huge patch. Kinda feels like I paid for the game but got an expansion pack no charge.

Other than the Olaf rework and new wards what else happened?
-
Lots of bug fixes, I guess. It was a big patch (basically two patches worth of stuff, since they said they were only making minor changes on the last one to avoid accidentally ruining the game before the season 3 finals). They added Jinx to the game files to unlock in the near future, added a Victor skin, fixed bushes obscuring enemy ranged attacks, added Tower inventories, and made tons of champ re-balances. I guess it's not like they redesigned Summoner's Rift or anything, but there have been lots of changes.
-
Although I haven't had the time to play with ya guys lately. Just wanted to point out to anyone who doesn't own the game that terraria is now 75% off on steam, so like 2,5€
-
I've been playing this off and on from a new world since the release date, and in no small quantities, and STILL have not eaten up everything this new update has contained. I'm now much stronger than my 1.1 character ever was, yet still have a while to go.
Terraria doesn't update very often, but when it does, it frickin delivers.
-
I haven't tried yet. Playing too many different games. Maybe I should, though...
Did it really bring that much?
-
Over a thousand new items, 3 new bosses, 2 new biomes. Totally revamps the game from beginning to end and adds a ton of stuff after the 1.1 progression ended. To say nothing of the updated graphics and new music.
Yes, it did.
-
Awesome. I'll definitely have to git it a try soon enough.
-
So, how you'all liking the halloween holiday thing?
In-game of course
-
Yet another delivery. Pumpkin moon is a pretty rough invasion. Even my specre armor magnet sphere chicka is hard pressed to defend herself against the swarms.
-
So I personally love the halloween event. It's a real challenge. Unlike fighting plantera who pretty much just moved around every 2 seconds and fired seeds at you. Get it above ground and you can outmanoeuvre it in every way.
Also, for being the new last boss the golem was kind of easy. But then we have the pumpkin king together with all his buddy during the halloween moon. Man, this thing is like skeletron prime but so much more horrible. Also, it's not just one, they just keep spawning.
Another nice thing about halloween is the new (huge) stock of vanity items to choose from. I've got so much cool stuff like the vampire, alien, grim reaper, unicorn etc that it's crazy.
-
I've gotten all the costumes and most of the Pumpking drops, but I still haven't seen that item that spawns that adorable black cat kitten pet. And I'm running out of time to get it before the event ends. Not good, not good.
On the whole though this event is pretty frickin swag. Way better than the Christmas one.

Been playing this update so much recently! They've added a cornucopia of insanely awesome items and features.
How did I live without a map before?! How many spells are there now?! These are just a few excited questions I have for gosh's sake!
Currently at Adamantite level trying to beat the first "hard mode" bosses. All my stuff is max enchant, as I spend most of my time grinding
for coins as I never tire of killing stuff with a boxing glove launcher :)
-
I've played very briefly a few days ago, and from the very little time I spent on the game, I can see they did add a lot.
I'm currently busy playing other games, which means I'll miss out on the Halloween event, which actually bother me a bit... but whenever I focus on a game, I usually only stop playing when I get bored of it.
I did get a couple pumpkins for later, though. I'll have to look for everything new they added when I play. Even made a new map to make sure I don't miss on anything.

I have a spare black yarn if you want it. Also, the bat hook is cool.
Also, apparently there was a painting I didn't get.

I ask myself the exact same question. I used to mark my progress underground with various coloured torches but now I can see what path I took. And see how insanely close I am getting to earlier paths.
Also, apparently Plantera now rages on the surface. Sometimes I wish they would give us patch notes, I found this out the hard way (hard as in; pulling plantera to the surface where I have a bed, trying to kill him but realizing that he's spamming me with shots that deal 100 damage each and insta killing me on revive.).
