If you aren't or haven't watched any of this awesome event then shame on you.

I'm torn on the subject of speedruns. I like to see a game beaten quickly, but they're usually all about glitch running, and that takes the fun out of it for me. I like seeing creative paths and ways of completing a challenge, but too often people will just find a hole in the level or something and skip the parts I want to see beaten.

The dark souls run during the summer charity thing was ace though. That guy showed me how to beat the game in an hour which took me like 18. No hax included.

It's like that Ocarina of Time speedrun where you just glitch through the game and end up at the collapse of Ganon Tower right after beating Ghoma. And that's considered legit speedrun. It's stupid.
-
Before someone comes in and mentions it, I'm well aware of the various categories of speedrunning, I'm just disappointed that a more legitimate style of speedrunning is so uncommon.
-
Oh they usually label their speedruns based on how they do it. So you won't get disappointed. It's like when they did one of the earliest harvest moon, all you had to do was to deny the mayor's request to take over the farm. Answer no enough times and you get to the worst ending. And they put it in the description for the speedrun. It took like 1.30 minutes.
-
Most games can't be glitched through anyways. Really, the zelda series is the only one that you can do it with from start to finish (and final fantasy 4 :/ ).
Easily over 90% of SDA's runs are played entirely from start to finish with minor skips here and there.

I simply MUST introduce you to nearly anything played in first-person.

I really like glitch runs! Watching Super Mario 64 beat in however many minutes the first time made me want to try just about everything they did. It can be fun!

It can be, and they're not inherently bad, I just don't prefer them.

Serious sam, period.

AGDQ did earn 1mil in a week in donations. I forgot to mention that this was a charity event hosted by speed demos archive.

And that is a fantastic achievement. A few new records were set during the event, so that's even more coolness.
