Title: First form for Char
Post by: luckygerbils on March 23, 2004, 04:06:01 AM
I started editing/making this battlechar, and I just wanted to see what you all thought of it.  The middle top character is the edited one. (obviously)

Here is the original charset it came from. (made with the charset generator then edited somewhat)

Third guy on top.

It is really not complete enough yet to give a real review on.

By the way, if you are looking for model to use for making the scarf, track down my "Bard" b-character. I think I did a very good job with the scarf on that one. It is probably worth a look.

You may want to add some more detail on the face.

Actually, the bard battle char was what I was originally trying to edit, but it was hard to edit out the hat and other stuff on him.

Faces are probably one of the things I can't do well (if you look closely at the charset--and if you saw my original request for this battlechar--you can see he has no real face anyway.), and he has a blindfold sort-of-thing on, but I'll try to at least give him a mouth.

The key with b-character faces is to keep them simple. Two pixes for a mouth, four for a left eye, eight for a right eye, and that is it. If he has a blindfold then obviously he will not have eyes, so no worries there. Add some shading around the hairline and the neck area and it looks fine.
