Title: Icon?
Post by: GaryCXJk on April 28, 2003, 01:53:27 AM
I found a free programming language called Icon.

Anyone got experience with that? And do you happen to know an alternative programming language?

I've no experience with it.
About other langs: it really depends on what you're plan to do (type of application, multiplatform or not, etc.)

You should consider BYOND as a programming language, its used to make online games. such as one of mine (Castle of the Winds Online)

I think that stage about two months back was from an hour or so's worth of coding. You guys should check it out if your interested in multiplayer games

 :para: Pow!

http://www.byond.com

Is an extreamly nice language to program in, I'm currently making a Shining Force ( same people as Golden sun ) fangame called Dream Shining Character ( although currently on hold due to some rpgmaker 2k'ing ). Its specificly designed for multiplayer games over the internet, and has all the nitty gritty hosting code done pre-programmed. Its easy to learn, if you put the effort into it ( I gave a predicted time of 3 days for newbie coders to get bored and give up, so if you can beat that your going pretty well ).

Yeah, some boards aren't very active at all. So make sure you check the date of the last post.
