Post by: Dark Savant0 on July 09, 2004, 09:02:30 PM: Would anyone other than Chronic, myself, GaryCXJK, or GPI, or anyone who has not been involved in work on Charas.ex download the items from the site? Its not fair that you guys wine, wine, wine while we do work. Its hard enough concentrating on sitting there to pick out colors for importation but you guys dont even help. I will not upload the next update until someone else volunteers to do at least on section of items. And if you want something from the net thats not in the current version, send it to me and I will convert it for you and place it along with your name in the credits of the next upgrade. Already I have a person named Crimson knight send me some interesing things for the fighters section not anywhere else, but until you guys help us out, there will be no work coming from me. If you want to wine, go ahead.

If anyone has planned to do a section of items, post here about it. Just download the png of it, and then zip them up and send them too darksavant0@netzero.com. No porn, warez, cracks, or anything illegal please. And I have a filter so place Chara Pics as the subject.

And no offense, but to this day I still not see the point of Charas.Ex. Why not just use the online one and be done with it.

Oh, and I don't mind working on Charas.EX, but I do mind the whining AND the fact that people think I'm useless. I've done more to this community than most of the people who come here.

(That excludes a majority of the mods team, who actually have done something and the two people who are more active on Charas.EX, and the most of the team, especially Senshi and The Brave, who are pwning me when it comes to resourcing)

How would you like sitting there on a 28k Modem trying to make one spritesheet and then your pc disconnects. Trust me, I have faced many similar predicaments. I guess I can only hope that people more mature appreciate this program. Who wants to keep going on a dial-up modem to do something that may be done on a pc. But oh well. I guess I must do what I must do. Maybe at a later date Charas.ex will have a bigger following.

Hey Mr MIster, would you read some of the other posts in this subforum. I think you'll love them.

I guess Charas.ex has only a handfull of followers.... There will be an update soon. One which will be easy to use and everyone will be able to understand. With items.

For all those that want a battle-char generator, try the one by Justin Smith of Nautilus Productions. It is real good. I found it somewhere either here or on some french website.

Thanks Lucky Gerbils. Could you do the monster section. Both the medium and tall.

For all those waiting on the update, it will be complete. This is the only way to do it. It will be downloadable in either zip or exe format. Either way, I will include a charas.ex.reg file to register the cmr files and update file so that they are downloadable easier. It will be everything I have downloaded and introduced, as well as the newest version of the thing. Everything! But that download tool cause its still a little buggy. So watch for it!

Someone have a reliable server in mind? Something fast and easy to access? 250FREE is alright unless there are many downloads, and the official charas.ex.exe site is slow(not charas-progect.net). Any ideas? 7 megabyte minimum because it will be in both versions(exe and zip)

But for now you can just put it there. The official site is actually only for Charas.EX updates (what's new, what can be changed, etc.). Also a place for tutorials of Charas.EX and other... stuff.

BTW: About the BChars, they work all right, but not in a way you want it. It basically takes a piece of 24x32 out of each 48x48 tile.

Yeah, if you copy and paste them into the RTP or Project folder they work fine. However I agree with Dark Savant0 that we shouldn't bother updating it since I don't think anyone really uses it when Justin Smith's is much easier.

I had saved a preliminary version of the stuff, but lost all the new medium resources, the new manual(spanish) and some other things. However, what I have left is still pretty good so it will be up with no further improvement tomorrow. It will be in two downloads. Zipped and Exe. Both have all. The exe installs it and the zip can just be extracted. After this, they will all be update files instead of everything. I just put it like this so everyone has the same thing and nothing else has to be found.

Luckygerbils, I meant when you save the stuff, could you save the smaller picture instead of the 3x one. Thanks. Could you redo all the medium stuff though? Thanks.
