Title: Help with the Face Generator
Post by: Wolfwood on August 25, 2004, 08:20:56 PM
I can't figure out how to save the Face's I make with the Faceset Generator. When I click on SAVE IMAGE it opens another window. When I right-click and Save Picture As... it saves it as a php file and I can't access it.

You can do what I do.  You can copy the pic and then put in paint and save it.  If your rpg amker is like mine then you need a png or 256 color pic.  Save it as the one you need.  And if you save it as the 256 you WILL LOSE SOME COLOR...

Just use the 'Save Target as' shortcut.

Put .bmp at the end of the filename when you save it.

No, actually it doesn't.  For some people (including me), right clicking and clicking Save As saves the picture as a .php file instead of .png or .bmp.
FFL's way may fix it for some people (once again, not me), but copying and pasting into Paint or Idraw works for me, but there is a lot of color loss.

My (slower) way is to right click the picture, then click Set as Background.  Then, cut and paste Internet Explorer Wallpaper.bmp from the C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer folder into wherever you want to put it.
This way has no color loss at all, but is only really worth the time if you are saving multiple files.

The above trick works true, but I'm curious as to WHY the pictures are saved as a PHP.

As annoying as it is incredibly inconvenient, it just doesnt seem to make sense. If anyone knows why then that could be useful, or at least enlightening.

(Oh by the way, "Application Data" on my pc is actually in "C:\Documents and Settings\Skitty\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer")

Thanks for the solution Gerbils :)
