Title: Alternative World Map
Post by: Neslein on September 28, 2004, 02:39:59 PM
Okay, I am not sure there to put this, so I quess it goes here...

I have been thinking of an alternative to a normal World Map system. I mean, insteed of having the normal boring World Map, you can have something diffrent.

Then i went researching and i found out about:

That's what I could find.
Do any of you know anything else?

A "Flammie" world map like in SOM.

You don't have to use a world map at all. You could make it so your character has to walk through different maps to get to different towns. Almost like Metroid. You could view the map. But you could walk on it. you had to go to different passages to get to your destination.

EDIT: Someone actually MADE the Flammie System!

Rust(The little gnome thing) Made it! http://rusty.avalanchestudios.net/systemflammieride.html

The flammie idea is a bit like the same as that i already found, but okay, i will add it to the list.

Any other suggestions?

Why do you think the world map is "boring?"

Not exactly, but i want somethin alternative.
... and i think maybe the worldmap is a bit overused now, thats the reason.

Yeah, good point. They are being overused.
