Title: Menu tutorial
Post by: young link on December 08, 2004, 01:34:52 PM
OK, I have figured out a way of making a Kick @$$ Menu...

1.First, go into your database, select common events... make a new event, make it a parallel process.
2.Make a Password trigger, and name it something like, menu, make it on button hit, select the esc button only.
3.under that event, make a show choice event, make the events named like, menu, save, and whatever else (Only use menu and save for this one.)
4.Under the menu event, select show menu (I think thats what its called), and under save, select Show save menu.
5.Under the save menu, insert a variable, at the bottom of the variable page, you'll see other. select amount of saves. at the top name the event Save.  Watch the number next to what your naming it.
6.under your variable, make a message that sais " You have saved \V[n] times. (n being the number next to the variable)

And your done.
You can also add a game stats in your show chopice thing.
put all the others in there!

What do you think? let me know!

That is surprisingly useless. There is already an option to show the number of saves built-in, so it isnt really kick-*** at all.
I dont think it counts as a CMS either, because it only uses the default menu and save function, the only spiff is in the show no. of saves thing.

It's probably just as good (And alot easier) to use the normal menu.

A CMS is a custom menu system...
