A bunch of server errors. Must have something to do with those google ads that popped up out of nowhere.

Don't worry, it's happened before.

I was wondering about those ads. I thought it was only me.

Maybe Alex was updating, and accidentaly made an error?

could be. but it should be a real coincedence if that happened...
i dont think anyone, even accidentally, would ever put ads in.
unless they mke money with them.

maybe he has a contract with google XD

Its almost the same error message when charas was down, but this time alex.ombra.net/charas/resources.php?lang=en isn't working.

Thats because it's the whole server. Like they said in the posts above, it was most likely somthing to do with the ad.

That's EXACTLY why people put google ads on their site. The more people click them, the more money alex gets.

Not precisely. I was told once not too click too much tiomes on the ads, because there is backwards effect on it or something like that.

Whoever said that lied to you.

So.... Click on it many times and Alex will be rich?

In some sort of way, He gets a certain ammount everytime somone clicks the ad. Which Alex will hopefully put towards the site.

Seems to be working again.

WHOOPS!

I made a mistake, yes...
The new complete system is based on mysql, and so is the ad rotator program of ombra.net.
I "simply" inverted the order of the connect to db strings... :D

Now it's all ok.

And about google ads, it's a test: we have them now on the ombranet pages, so, considering that Charas have so many hits, we tryied also to place them here.

Dunno yet how it works for real, some days of tests will say more.

Yay CR, is backonline XD lol we all shall see if it works :P XD

I think that you need to make the ads focus more towards RPG Maker sites than PostgreSQL :P

And, considering all of our loyal members, and the fact that from now on we'll all be clicking the ads to help out, I think this will work out grand.

Unfortunatly google choose the ads by himself...
And sometimes they're VERY relevant. For example, i placed the ads also into the top-right frame of all of the generators: there i almost always have RPG related ad.
Maybe Google consider Charas as a php deveeloper site? Mah!

Wait....Couldn't Alex just tell us all to click those google ads a million times and he would be rich?
Title:

Well, like I said earlier, it is a small amount, and plus he's putting it towards the site and hopefully not  cuban cigars vodka and cheap hookers.

See legend-

Eheh... no, actually no.
Google rules prohibit any type of incentive to click (anyhow i told you nothing about it SO... :D).
The fact is that Google keep an eye if there are too many views/clicks from the same IP. This is why i did not place any banner here in the forums, but only in site's pages and in the generators (in the frame which is nevere reloaded, only one impression and not one every time you change a set, for example).

I believe that it looks up keywords in the page and displays ads that are related to the words.

One problem I noticed Alex is that the complete resources pages no longer have titles.

Corrected, thank you.

Sorry for double post...
But i have to repeat this, SERIOUSLY: don not click too much on banners!
An unusual click rate from same IPs may result in troubles for our trustship.

That's it: if a RPG related banner came out, and if you're curious abuot it, then visit it. If you don't care about the ad subject, just leave it alone. Simple symple! ;)

Indeed. But do you think it's placed okay? I always think its the banner and click it to go to the main page.. http://charas-project.net/forum/images/msgicons/msgicon5.gif
