Title: Eternal Destiny
Post by: Delete on January 10, 2005, 01:06:41 AM
This is my idea and if you steal it I will be really sad. I'll even cry. You want to make me cry? I thought not. Well anyway...

It is a series that is very much like Final Fantasy in concept, but the games actually are connected. It has taken me about a year of planning and I'm almost ready to get started. (It started as a book which is why it took so long.)

The whole series is about a large religeous city, Yion, wishing to absorb the souls of humans to use as a sacrifice to summon the god of destruction, Aros. They believe they can control Aros to make them the most powerful city-nation in the world.

The first game which I am currently working on is the story of the warrior Flair. He starts out as a warrior of Fore. However, specific events eventually lead him to betray his kingdom and he is banished. Now he is forced to fight against the corrupt king of Fore and the control of Yion over Fore.

I have plans for the first three games of the series the second of which is my favorite. (The main characters name is Delete.) Well thats a very vaque description! there ya go!

Sounds pretty cool. Maby I'll steal it :o... Jusk kidding, I don't want to see anyone cry :)

Saddly most people who plan on making series never actually get around to finishing the series, hopefully this is not the case with you though :). Anyway, just to be safe, you should probably tie the games into eachother, but still keep each game seperate from the others so if someone would play (or you would make) only one of the games, they would know what was going on.

Anyway, I'll be looking forward to updates on your game  :)

Another good idea is to pace yourself, you could for instance make all 3 games at the same time. Create very vague storylines and have really short storylines in the games and minor gameplay. Then after they are done start to expand them. So they get bigger and bigger but are still playable if you stop making them (get bored, give up, move on). Just keep expanding them.

Eternal Destiny.

Eternal Destiny.

Eternal Destiny.

 :x

I KNOW that you can get a better name. I've seen like 10 Eternal Destinies, and the name is lame.

Yeah, it sounds like a good game, but you may want to work on that name.

Shadow of Aros does sound cool but its a little too revealing (as if this post isnt) The name has been around for years and I'm a little more then fond of it but I'll work on it. And the plan for working on them is that I am working on the basic bones of the storyline skeleton then expanding as Dalherrin said earlier.

I might as well list names while I'm at it. If your see one you like tell me. Hmmmm thinking...

Judgement of the Godslayer.

Ehhh it seems a bit bulky to me. Too long. But I wanna keep Godslayer.

Well I am all about doing something new. How about I just forget about a series wide name and just simply give each game its own title. Might be a little confusing at first. But I could manage it. Still up for suggestions though.

Godslayer itself is a pretty good name.

Okay, dude, stop topic kicking. There's that little date at the bottom of every post. If its more than two weeks old, try and refrain from posting.

Two weeks may be cutting a little close. But basically anything that hasn't been posted in for a while should not be kicked except by the author. OR if it is a stickied thing that is for information and not spamming (Pic of yourself) or a forum game that hasn't died.
