Legend of Lea was a hate or love game, for the ones that loved it I can't just onhold it for ages when they want a new demo and for the ones who hated it, the hate is about to go away.
When I saw that Osmose mentioned in the charas magazine that the game is about to be released sometime this year, I realized that I can't keep it onhold anymore. But since I'm the leader of the community contest I can't work too much on Lea these two months. But what I said is true, I will release the full game this year.
But since I made a lot of mistakes in it I have decided to re-make it.
And I will make new demos as well.
This time the demo will be a lot longer and I will shorten somethings since I think everything is happening way to fast.
I will make horrible maps amazing, add new characters, make the storyline even greater, make the character's emotions and reactions a lot more real, change some horrible names, make a lot more minigames and new systems, more interesting scenes and a very interesting own CBS.
And a lot more!
So, what do you say, worth playing? ;)
The release date of the new first demo is "May 23th 2005".
And this time Legend of Lea will be made in Rm2k3.

Storyline:
One day every year, six prophets travels to the Mountain of Defreth, also known as the Defreth Mountain.
When all the prophets are gathered at the mountain,
they must climb to the top of it, to the Myritha Shrine.
The Myritha Shrine belongs to the goddess of the mountain,
and many people comes here to pray.
The reason the six prophets come here is not to pray,
they travel to the top of the Defreth in order to restore the world.
Everyday the world loses a lot of life, things starts to rotten and then it dies.
Disease starts to spread and because of this many people die.
To restore the world you need six people with all different ability's.
The six prophets are these people.
Together they make a ritual around the Myritha Shrine in order to summon the soul of the moon.
The ritual is forbidden for any others than the prophets.
The moon is the only one with enough power to able to restore the world. By summoning the moon he then restores the world.
But of course it is not that simple, there is no such thing as just giving away. Without the sacrifices of the six prophets there is no way the moon is going to restore the world. That is why the ritual is forbidden for anyone else.
This day you can also see the whole moon clearly on the sky, the moon is never bigger than it is this day.
But this year something is wrong... The moon does not show up.
Without the power of the moon there is no hope for the humanity, that is why this day is very important to them.
What happened to the moon? Play the game and find out! ;)
I won't update this thread too much until I'm done with Faded Reality. (the community contest game)
It will be alot fun for me to re-make the game and I hope this is something you will look forward to.

1: Yes, I have to do that since it's for rm2k3 this time. But some scenes will still be the same.
2: Yes. They will have a lot more life and everyone will have their own unic personality.
3: No big changes, only small ones. But I will add some things to the storyline as well.

A little complaint:
On the demo I played, I sat down and watched this freaking long intro! God I hate games like that. I'm really hoping it might be shortened. Even if it's not, I'd still play it! I loved the game! Goos luck with the revamp!

Anyway, I have found that most games with a long intro have an option at the beggining that allows the player to watch the full intro, a shortened intro, or just to skip the intro. I'd be cool if you did something like that :)

Shall I have voice actors for Lea this time or not?
It would be good since I have around 50 peoples who would like to help. But maybe you wouldn't like to hear voices for ea that's why I want to know what you guys think.
If we'd have voices we would have them in all important scenes, and perhaps we'll make some battle voices as well. Just like Tales of Symphonia.
So what do you think, voice actors or not?

A week ago I started to make a few maps for Lea, and I have all introduction maps, that's good.
Also, this time I'm going to use chapters.
There will be three chapters in demo 1 and 2, and an extra chapter in the third demo.
Demo 1 chapters:
Chapter I: A great power in the hands of the wrong man
Chapter II: The beginning of a long journey
Chapter III: It's stolen from you!
Demo 2 chapters:
Chapter IV: Our world is Ill
Chapter V: The house is haunted
Chapter VI: A way up to the Defreth Mountain
Demo 3 chapters:
Chapter VII: Another world
Chapter VIII: Kidnapped!
Chapter IX: The blue knight exam
Chapter X: The three moon crystals

I hope you do, and btw, each chapter will be around 30 minutes long, so you won't finish these demos in two minutes.
Lea has been assleep for some time now, that's why it needs to be reviewed.

I can definatly say your mapping skills have GREATLY improved since the first demos. Vile just sort of jumped out and astounded me. And the desert. And the Ice Cave. And... well, I think you get the point. Awesome work. It's definatly turning out good. :)

Those maps aren't 100% complete yet though, needs some events and on some of them I will add my own fog eftect or an own sandstorm.
And yeah, my mapping has really improved since last time, my mapping improves more and more everyday.
And no mather how the map looks there is always a way to make it look better. ;)
To everyone who wants to help:
Right now I only need help with one thing and that's the CBS and CMS graphics. Because I'd really love if we could start on those soon. That's all help I need right now, sorry.

The 7th September this year Legend of Lea will be able to download. The waiting is long, I know... But this time I also promise that it won't be late.
If you'd like you could start a countdown, from this day it's exactly 117 days left until deadline.
In the meanwhile, I have uploaded a cool screenshot for you to look at. And perhaps in the beginning of July there will be a Legend of Lea trailer able to download.

Since it's not hard to do I guess could add that as well.

For me it's kind of sad but I feel like giving up this game. Nothing ever gets really done and all I can do is show crappy screenshots while others gives out trailers and demos. Maybe it'll just be the same thing in two months, just giving out a couple of screenshots.
And I feel like people also gets tired of that.

but seriously, no-one really cares about getting the demo until they know that its the best that the creator could make it...
which requires time...
Im telling you, I'd rather w8 for 1000 more days for a demo that is good, than 2 days for something i wish i hadnt wasted my tiem on.

Please complete it! People can give away alle the trailers, demos, etc. and it doesn't matter, it can still be a bad game. The other way around, you can start out by only giving screenies, and still have an amazing game. I played your prev... demos, and they were fantastic. As said before, i have to slap you if you drop the project!

And don't worry about not being able to give out more than screenshots. This game is much better than many people's games here (Mine especially), so please don't rush it. I'd rather look at screenshots anyway.
And those are REFMAP charsets, aren't they?

Well, I'll have to give out this demo since that's pretty much what I've promised.
However, I am getting sick of giving out screenshots. If I could I'd give you the full game right now, but it sure does take a lot of work to do that. But a trailer in July I promise!

No, I can't say I agree. Screenshots doesn't say how good the game's going to be. And from what I've seen of your game I would definitely not say "especially". Though I must tell you that from the critic I was given by some people when I released my previous demos I've learned much and become a lot better, so I won't let my game end a flop I guarantee all of you. But I also guarantee that the Radiance will be a good game. ;)
