Ok. No faces, no icons, or any of that. I want to get right to business. I have a similar request to many others that are posted on this site and that is to know how to get my resources from here to the game. I've read the FAQ, I've checked every topic and thread on this forum and nohting is working, or people say they've figured it out without every really saying how. I've tried using the gzip, I've tried altering colors with MSPaint, I've tried using Idraw 3, I've tried saving both as bmp (though I can't select bmp from my drop down options) and png. My main problem is that I can save the images, but then there is no preview picture in the file, and then when I try to import the image, I get a message that says "Unsupported PNG Image". Those are the exact words. I've also gotten message like "Invalid Color depth" and improper size, which I know are more common. Anyway, please don't flame me too bad, but I'm begging for someone to help me out here. I really like this site and I don't want to not use it just because I'm frustrated. If someone could post step by step instructions here on how they get their resources to work, I'd appreciate it. Why should you do this? I can give two reasons that I hope help. One: I'll give you credit in my game for helping me out, and Two: If there is one step by step list, then all Newbie's can check this post, and you'll never be bothered by these things again! Thanks for your help!

1. When you see a charset, or faceset that looks like the actual size it should be (charset 8 heroes, face set 16 faces), right click the picture and press "Save Picture As..."
2. You'll be ask where to save the picture, save it on the desktop for now.
3. When you get that done, open Rm2k, and go into the import option, and MAKE SURE YOU CHOOSE WHAT YOU WANT TO IMPORT (to the left of resouces that are already in your game), and press import.
4. Choose the picture that is on your desktop, and press import.
Any more questions? Or any more troubles?

Ok. I tried that but I'm still getting the "Unsupported PNG Image" message. Oh, and I'm using rm2K3. Would that make a difference?

I get this **** all the time.
I hope you have photoshop.
Open PS.
Go to Image>Mode>Indexed color
Save As
Save as PNG
Fin.

Well, unfortunately I don't have photoshop. Is there any other way to do it?

Unsupported PNG Image? That means you're saving it as a .PNG.PHP file. If you're not already using it, then download Mozilla Firefox (http://mozilla.org) and generate your thing again. Make sure to put .PNG at the end of the filename when you save it.
And if that still doesn't work, try the RM2K3/Charas FAQ (http://ca.geocities.com/omegametroid765/faq.htm).
BTW, Welcome to Charas.

Ok. Well, I got a single image to work, but I'm still not quite sure how. (Laughs to himslef). If anyone has any other ideas, please let me know. By the way, Warxe, thanks for the welcome. Oh, and I am using Firefox. I downloaded it yesterday 'cause I read that it would help. Um, so, I'd really like the 8 character thing to work, so all ideas are appreciated! I have to go to a class right now, but I will be back later. Thanks for all your help so far! By the way, since I did get something to work somehow, I've decided to keep using Charas. This really is a great site.

Well, you could post it here, and I could do it on my thing of Photoshop...

Thanks SleepAid. I'm going to continue to mess around with it a little bit for now, but I will keep that in mind. I appreciate the offer greatly.
Here's an update on the problem. I'm getting the files saved, and they are being saved as PNG files, but when I look at the file itself, there is no picture. I think I could get around the "Unsupported PNG image" error if I had a picture to work with, but I don't. Can anyone offer any solutions for this problem in particular? Thanks!
