I want to use MP3s, but I need to find that patch thing first.

I have Pete Yorn - Ever Fallen in Love lined up though (The lyrics are kinda important to the story later on in the game).

Well I try not to use mp3's, but when I come across an mp3 that will be perfect for a scene, I just have to use it  :(

Right now I'm using 2 and a half mp3s.

The half comes from a track that I will use if I decide to make a new intro for my game.

People say MP3s slow down your games, but I don't think so, as long as you use the proper patch which fools Rm2K3 into thinking it's a MIDI. Any other method makes it waaaay slow.

I haven't ever experianced any slow-down from mp3s. When I had an older version of rm2k3, some mp3s would just not play, but it didn't make anything go slower (I don't think at least).

What other ways would there be to play mp3s on rm2k3?

Well, some people Hex Edit the codes to accept MP3s. Unfortunately, they soon come to realise they can't upload any music at all, so they have to delete all their games and reinstall the program.

Which is why I got rid of my Hex Editor. ;)

Green Day suck.

Bulivard of Broken Dreams sucks.

Using MP3s in games sucks, because my computer, namely my RAM and connection, sucks.

Don't use the MP3 patch. It sucks. You have to find rm2k3 version 1.08. That's the best way you can use them. And yes, I use 2 right now. Sadly, they make your game bigger in file size and it will take longer to download.

Why don't you just covert the mp3's to wavs and import them that way. go to www.riverpast.com and find the wave@mp3 converter. It's really fast and the quality is just the same.
And what are you people taking about! Boulevard of broken dreams rocks. Green Day rocks! o well just kidding. :jumpin:

WAVs are a lot larger than mp3s of the save legnth and quality. It just saves space if you use mp3s.

lol save space..by using mp3s? lol MIDIS and small wavs are always the way to go. People hate Downloading 200 MB game when 40 MB of it is Mp3s. Stick to MIDIs, they're like...24 KB

My friend doesn't have any midis in his game. Just MP3s. He has a huge amount of MP3s in it but he has this weird idea that if he uses midis he'll break the pattern of only using MP3s and the world will end, or... something. I use a few MP3s, but mainly the good old midi.

I'm making a game where all the songs a rock songs. The only thing about midis are that they're all sythesized sounds and it doesn't sound very realistic at times, like the clarinet midi track, it sounds nothing like a real clarinet and sounds basically the same as ther ocarina midi track, so thats why i use mp3s and stuff but what the heck its just music, lol.

I'm using a couple of mp3s. Whenever I change an mp3 to a wav, it just boost the size of the file so I just stick with mp3s.

Well, this is definately true about how MIDIS are A LOT smaller in size. But if you find a mp3 that you really like, and the quality is excellent, the quality of the MIDI will never be able to match the quality of the mp3. MIDI's are either made on a keyboard or computer program. mp3's are actual bands who played the music. I only have 2 though...the rest are MIDI's.

I've only used an MP3 once. And that was for a sound effect.

mp3s don't go right with the RPGmaker graphics, unless you have movie file.
