Post by: VulcanRaven336 on March 22, 2005, 06:53:23 AM
Well?
Also, what is the average MP3's in a Rm2k3 game? I wanna know to see if it is too big for me to upload it to my website.

(This isn't for ATF, it's for another project I am going to work on)

My rm2k3 project has around 123MBs with MP3s and AVIs and Midis and all the other files. However it is a bit unorginized so I am thinking the true size is like 72MBs.

But yeah the average is about 20MBs to 30MBs with MP3s,.. I say about 45-55Mbs to 55-65MBs

Glad I don't have dial-up. Mine as of now, is about 12 MB...the final version will probably be about 40 MB.

The average is around:

10-25 MGB

With MP3s: *About the Same as Kijuki's*

:eyes: I have two mp3 tracks, a small avi video, and a bunch of sound effects, and my project is only 23 mbs (zipped). I could probably get it under 20 if I removed the rpg_rt.ext file, and all the unused midis, charsets, tilesets, and wavs.

I don't plan to use any AVI's, but I want to use a soundtrack of at least 10 MP3's for my game. I guess it's not going to happen.

Hmm, 10 mp3s would be an extra 20 - 50 mbs in your game.

Why do you have so many mp3s in your game anyway? Most midis are just as good as mp3s for background music for most occasions. MP3s are a lot better though in the intro, the end, and maybe it would be good to use them for one or two major scenes in the game.

Plus the more mp3s that are in a game, the more unlikly it is for me to download them, I hate dial up so much  :(

I have so many mp3's because in the game I am making, everytime you enter a vehicle you can choose up to 3 radio stations, each containing about 3 songs. But now it doesnt' look like such a good idea, Thanks guys I guess I would rather have 5 radio stations with 10 songs each than a 3 song radiostation!

Thats a pretty cool idea, but if can, I suggest making a version of the game without that feature so that people with dial up can download it  ;)

I turn my midis into mp3s. Take THAT.

Sounds like a good idea, I guess I won't put that feature with MP3's, I am going to put it with midis, so basically I am making midi radiostations:)
Midis to mp3's? Whoa what real size savers:)

Bah, they're all under a megabyte, and they sound way better. Check the Startropics game thread for links to some of em.
