Title: A Series of Unfortunate Events
Post by: Grandy on March 24, 2005, 07:53:25 PM
Did anyone here read one of those? I am at the N° 10  The Slippery Slope And until now I think the book is very good. Well... did anyone read it? If you did, you know the author let some things about his 'story' in the book, or the orphans story. I would like to hear about your opinions about it... like, who is Beatrix? Whats the meaning of V.F.D.?
I already have some theories... but theres nbo point to post unless anyone here read the book so... I'll wait to see.

 BTW, to quote an comic:

[GLOW]IF YOU TELL ME THE END OF THE STORY I SWEAR, DON'T MATTER WHERE DO YOU LIVE, YOU'LL HEAR MY SCREAM!!![/GLOW]

I didnt know about the game. Only the movie. And the movie is the same as the Harry Potter series, if you read the book, the movie is boring, if you didn't, then the movie is cool.
About if the book is cool... well yeah, only a bit sad. And it is weird at the same time. For example: In EVERY book, the autor starts with: "If you are interested in stories with happy endings, you would be better off reading some other book. In this book, not only is there no happy ending, there is no happy beginning and very few happy things in the middle. This is because not very many happy things happened in the lives of the three Baudelaire youngsters." or something like that. And the characters are REALLY weird, there is a guy that think his money is more important than the life of the three orphans. To tell the truth, almost every character in the whole series think that money is more important than human life.

We still don't have the 11th yet...
So... do you have any theories about Lemony Snicket's past or who could be Beatrix?

I never knew there was even a book on this, much less 11 :(

From what I saw in the previews to the movie, it didn't seem too good, but who knows, if you say the books are really good, I may just go and read one  :D

DO IT! They give me money everytime I make someone read it. And the book is good. Really good. I get angry everytime I read it.

I've heard it's good. I guess I'll read them. I read a lot and am in a book report contest. I shall win!

How many pages per book, do you think there are?

This is what I believe:

Lemony Snicket = Daniel Handler
Beatrix = Somebody he made up

Okay, okay, we have an opinion here.
So... What good books you think I should read instead? Or why they're bad?
I really would like to know that. You can't hate a book for no reason.

200 pages is like a walk in the park. A good book series (its older reading) is the Song of Ice and Fire. Very good series.
