Post by: Spike21 on March 29, 2005, 09:15:47 AM
Does anyone have info on hyrules past and timeline and races and anthing that is about zelda not the game it self because this my sound stupid..really stupid but i m writing an information book on hyrule this is what i have

Hylians
Location: Hyrule
Description: Blessed by the Gods with exceptional magical skills, such as the ability to communicate through telepathy and making powerful potions, the Hylians have always been the most powerful race throughout Hyrule. They look a lot like humans, except their ears are long and pointy. The Hylians are known for having the skills of manipulating magic.
Famous Race Members: Link (Picture), Zelda
Sheikah
Location: Kakariko Village in Hyrule
Description: The Sheikah, also known as 'The Shadow Folk' are the people chosen by the gods to protect the Triforce and the Royal family of Hyrule. They looked just like Hylians, but bigger. During the great war all the Sheikah except Impa died. The Sheikah buildt the Shadow Temple.
Famous Race Members: Impa (Picture)
Kokiri
Location: Kokiri Forest in Hyrule
Description: Living in Kokiri Forest protected by The Great Deku Tree, the Kokiri were the only race that did not participate in the Great War. An ancient legend tells that if a Kokiri leaves the forest, he/she will die. Every Kokiri is born with a protecting fairy.
Famous Race Members: Saria (Picture), Mido
Korok
Location: Forest Haven on the Great Sea
Description: The Korok are the Kokiri. Confused? When Hyrule was flooded around a century after Ocarina of Time, the various races then had to adapt to their new every day lives. As a result, the magical children of the Deku Tree took the form as Koroks, simply because this was a more suitable shape for them. One of the reasons was that they could easily fly with the help of the Deku Leaves, and it was also most likely a shape that was more true to their nature, rather than the human-like shape they had as the Kokiri Children..
Famous Race Members: Makar (Picture)
Goron
Location: Hyrule, Labrynna, Termina
Description: The Gorons are generally a helpful race that won't harm anybody that doesn't want to harm them. However, they do possess great power and knowledge about fighting techniques. This is proven when Link inhabits the body of an ancient Goron Soldier, Darmani, in the adventure of Majora's Mask. They can live under extreme heath, and grow to become HUGE (Example: Biggoron who lives at the top of Death Mountain). The Gorons eat rocks. It is believed that once Hyrule was flooded the Gorons fled to other parts of the world, such as Labrynna and Termina, as they are not very tolerable to water.
Famous Race Members: Darunia (Picture), Darmani
Zora
Location: Hyrule, Labrynna, Termina
Description: The Zoras are a powerful, but at the same time very voulnerable race. Their powers are shown in Majoras Mask when Link inahibts the body of legendary Zora musician, Mikau. They are extremely good swimmers, but they need water to survive. In Ocarina of Time, most of the Zoras died when their home, Zora's Domain was frozen during Links seven-year sleep. The Zoras have also appeared as an evil race, but then they go by the name "Zola".
Famous Race Members: Princess Ruto (Picture), King Zora, Mikau
Rito
Location: Dragon Roost Island on the Great Sea
Description: It is believed that as the known world of Hyrule was flooded, and only the Great Sea was left, somewhere along the line the Zoras that lived in Hyrule became, be it by magic or evolution, what is known as the Rito - A birdlike tribe which lives on top Death Mountain, which is then known as Dragon Roost Island. The Ritos worship Valoo, the God of the Sky, and every Rito who wants wings must face Valoo to get them.
Famous Race Members: Quill (Picture), Medli, Prince Komali
Deku
Location: Hyrule, Termina, Labrynna
Description: The Dekus are a strange race, which can be considered both as enemies and friends. In Ocarina of Time they mainly show up as Deku Scrubs (enemies), but Majora's Mask show us that there exists a people of Dekus that live in their own society. The Dekus are a race who is mainly concerned about themselves, and therefore they can switch sides between good and evil, and they mostly stay on the side which is best for them.
Famous Race Members: The Deku Princess
Gerudo
Location: Hyrule, Termina
Description: The Gerudos are a lone people. They live in fortresses, and are known as thieves. Nearly all Gerudos are women. In Hyrule, a male Gerduo is born every 100 years. This man is destined to be the leader of the Gerudos until a new male is born into the tribe.
Famous Race Members: Ganondorf (Picture), Nabooru
Fairy
Location: Everywhere
Description: Guardian Fairies, or just fairys, are small glowing 'flies' that has been assigned to guard and protect their own Kokiri Kid. The Great Fairy is a big fairy, that seems to be put together by many small Guardian Fairies, or at least she is in Majora's Mask when Skull Kid shatters her into many small fairys. Special fairies that are only used for healing are called 'Faeries'. The Fairies are often forgotten when the races of Hyrule are mentioned, even though they play a great part in the journeys of Link.
Famous Race Members: Navi (Picture), Tatl
Subrosian
Location: Subrosia
Description: Not much is known about this strange, lonely people. Their land, Subrosia, is a boiling hot land filled with living-volcanos everywhere. Nobody has ever seen what a Subrosian really looks like, as they always wear their capes which hide their real faces.
Famous Race Members: Rosa
Tokay
Location: Crescent Island in Labrynna
Description: A very rare race, only found on Crescent Island in Labrynna. These creatures look like Lizards, but their intelligence is far beyond the ones of the Lizards. They can walk and talk, and even lie, which Link gets to experience when he visits this island. Not a bad race at all however.
Famous Race Member: None
Hyrule
This land has the same name as the World itself. Hyrule the land is often mixed up with Hyrule the World. In the land of Hyrule, many important battles and events have taken place. The land of Hyrule is filled with different creatures, races and places. People in the land of Hyrule have always been known as religious people, and they have always been in great respect of the powers of the Triforce. The Royal Family is the greatest and most respected family in Hyrule, and they run the land.
Termina
When Link first visited a land outside Hyrule, Termina was the destination. Because many of the persons and creatures he met here were very similar to the inhabitants of Hyrule, Termina is often thought of as a parallell World to Hyrule. However, in Termina, the races does not have a common 'emperor' or Royal Family that runs the land, but they have individual leaders. The Terminians are more advanced than the Hyrulians, but does not seem to have the same faith in the gods as the Hyrulians do. Every year, they celebrate a big carnival in the centre of the land, which is the city Clock Town. They do this in honour of the four great ones which according to the legend created the land, and still guard it. The Triforce is not mentioned when Link is in Termina, so it is believed that it does not play a part of their lives and history.
The Great Sea
Once Hyrule is flooded by the Gods to protect the land from Ganondorf, it turns into a vast sea. The inhabitants of Hyrule quickly settled on the top of the mountain-tops, and eventually they forgot all about Hyrule and the land below the sea, for the this huge sea with many an island became the new home of all life.
Koholint Island
While ship-wrecked on a sea-voyage back to Hyrule, Link stumbled upon Koholint Island. The Wind Fish was the emperor of the Island, and Link couldn't leave the island until he had freed the Wind Fish. This Island was infact inhabited by many people that resembled the inhabitants of Hyrule, and Link is still doubtfull wether the Island was just a place he visited in his dreams...
The Dark World / Sacred Realm
When Ganon was trapped in the Sacred Realm during the Imprisoning War, he still wanted to take over Hyrule. Instead, he had to settle with the Sacred Realm. The Sacred Realm was infact a mirror-world of Hyrule. It was here Ganon made plans of taking over Hyrule with his great army of soldiers, but the plans was spoiled by Link that got into the Dark World and ruined it all for Ganon, and once again saved Hyrule. When a normal person from Hyrule entered the Sacred Realm, he would change into a monster if his thoughts were greedy and impure.
Labrynna
When peace reigned in Hyrule, Link was not free to rest. The Triforce called him to the land of Labrynna, as evil was stirring in this far-away land. Being allied with the evil empress, Veran, they take over the beautiful singer, and godess of time, Nayru. Labrynna is inhabited by the same races as Hyrule and Termina, but unlike Termina, Labrynna has their own inhabitants that are special for their land, and therefore the land is obviously not a parallell dimension of some sort, like Termina.
Holodrum
Located somewhere far from Hyrule, Holodrum is a very color and cheer-full land. Link was brought to Holodrum by the Triforce when General Onox used the powers of the Oracle of Seasons, Din, to mess up the Seasons in Holodrum. The land is very similar to Labrynna, but it is characterized by its own unique landmarks and inhabitants.
Subrosia
Subrosia is a land deep inside of the planet, and here lives the Subrosians. They are a peaceful race that can acces every land in Hyrule that they want, from Subrosia. The only known entrance for other races to Subrosia is in Holodrum.

Well, I've never had a chance to play that, besides, you'd think they would've shown that in Oot somewhere... or at least WW!

It was only 100 years later. No way they could have 1000 generations.

Each new link was meant to have risen every 1000 years. It might have been 100, but whatever.

However, WW was different. As explained in the game, the link of WW was not part of the hero bloodline, and therefore did not have to have appeared within the 1000/100-year slots.
It's implied that WW is much, much further into the future, what with the evolution of certain creatures and the flooding and everything.

I assure everyone, it was only 100 Years.

Now, why does that sound oxymoronic. "Don't worry, you won't be in slave labour for too long, only 100 years!"
