Title: ~Guidelines for those who plan to answer Requests~
Post by: Ace of Spades on November 26, 2006, 10:42:41 PM
Due to the recent appearance of many request threads, it's time to have some set-in-stone rules for people who plan to "fulfill" someone else's request. These rules are for anybody who plans to hit this button:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v486/AOS18/replybutton.png in a member's request thread. Read carefully, there are only a few, and they're all self-explanatory, but now it seems they have to be said.

1) If you don't plan on doing the request, then don't post. No sarcastic comments (ie. lol i half no lief i do it 4 u k), nothing on how the person stated their request, and please, no "Hey you only have 1 post, introduce yourself first and then request." The newbs and request rule is no longer in effect, there's no rules that say you have to introduce yourself first, etc. In short, if you're not going to do the person's request, then just shut the hell up.

2) Don't hijack someone else's thread. Technically this is a requester's rule, however, since it is in relation to a member posting in someone else's thread, it needs to be said. If you have a request, make your own thread. I don't care if the person who did that member's request is good at what they do and you want to ask them to do something for you, if the request that person had was something similar to yours, or any other reason. You don't post your own request in someone else's.

3) If you had told someone you were going to do their request, but later on for whatever reason are not able to, do us all a favor and tell them this. Otherwise, the requester is going to continue to bump their thread saying "Hey, are you still doing this?" until you do, so there's no sense in not telling them you're not doing it. Just remember, in the long run you're already doing a favor, so there shouldn't be any hard feelings.

In regards to rule 3, if the topic is over a week old and you're afraid of topic kicking, don't worry about it, this rule's an exception. In regards to rules 1 and 2, if either of them are not followed, I'll just delete your post. I'm tired of people's requests being spammed up with nonsense, so from here on it's zero tolerance in that regard. If you continue to ignore it, you'll be warned; and followed by a warn, further action will be taken (ie. almost ban, temp ban, etc). And with that, I leave you to your potential request fulfilling. Have fun helping out. ^^
