this is about the pre-production / production / release of the game.
This game should have more/ be:
Longer
Custom Chipset's, Facesets, Sprites, BattleCharas
----
I found some good looking chipsets on phylomortis. I also found a nice town one on a site, I did bookmark the addy, but mozilla deleted it {grrr}. You will be able to play as 3 characters. A soldier/worker, default Boy or default Girl.
Story:
You are a miner. You come across a statue. You tell the main leader and they transport to Ceska Dungeon. The King lives not far away. He comes to see it and then gets warped into another world. You have to save him and other people that have been taken hostage.
-
How much games are you planning?
-
about 6 altogether...
-
BTW what happens in Knights Journey 1?
-
In Knight's Journey 1, the evil Lord Sidon comes and invades the world. You, Sam a brave knight must go to Wolfheart's Academy {which is a school and my friends RPG}. He must get a sword. He must go to Port Johnston, from here he has to do missions. At the end of the game you confront him.

EDIT: btw, this is good, KJ4 so far is 950 KB, more than KJ3 when it was finished, that is a good sign!

My least developed project is 29MB... Though a few of the songs are MP3...
This isn't to try and gloat, it's to say that when you think the game is long enough, make it bigger, add side quests, add extra little fun things for the observant player to find. :P
Also, I suggest you end the KJ series with this one, start something new, because honestly, so far this game seems beyond saving, but maybe that's just in my opinion.

ok. I was gonna add stuff that has to be unlocked, At

By the way, you know, you can post in the Game thread.
-

Yeaaaaaaaah, I was about to say something along the lines of "Why does the folder have around 50 maps but the game has only about 5???"
EDIT: Where do I recognize the title song from, by the way?

I loved that game. :3
REVIEW :
Story 1/5, There was a story, and it did give motive to the game, but that was about it. The story was filling with plot holes and made no sense, which, in all honesty, has become something to expect from this game series. I mean, ofcourse, no offense to you in saying that, I just don't think you put much effort into the game.
Graphics 2/5, There were some generated characters, the monsters where great, if not a bit recognizable... The maps, again, were terrible and even at times gave me a headache because of the fact that they were just a giant layer of the same repeated tiles.
Sound 4/5, the sound was great, and all the songs were non-RTP, which is a major plus for me, since I find RTP songs to be boring. Sound effects were wonderful, most of which RTP, but I honestly like the RTP sound effects if they are used correctly.
Gameplay 3/5, The game was easy, repetitive. The maps were BIG in alot of spots, and I like that in games, but I don't like it when a game is just hitting enter in a battle.
Fun 2/5, it was too short, maps were bad, and story was bad. I really want to help you in making games, because of two reasons, I like to play good games RPGmaker games, and I like to make them.
Overall 2/5, This is what I expect any more from the series. In my honest opinion, this one just barely goes above the third, and is not nearly as good as the second, which wasn't exactly top notch either. Great sound, bad gameplay. As I said, I really want to help you with your games, but the biggest help I can give at the moment with this game is end the series with 4. This game seems to be set in a different random, meaningless world each time and it's gotten a bit repetitive. I'd really like to see something new from you, because it seems you have the skills to make something good, just not the interest or motivation.

did u complete the game with the 2 endings btw?
The game would have been longer if u had done so.

okay listen im not going to try and be mean but i am going to be truthful.
Gameplay- 1/10 just boring and the skills had no effect on the game its self all boss battle could be taken down in about 4 turns and you can completely max out your stats in about 20 minuets if you take the time to take that quiz 50+ times.........just bad all around sorry
Sound- 5/10 just some RTP but it was moderate i guess, good choice in music but it got a little annoying with the same song through out the whole game
Maps- 1/10 just bad everything met at a 90 degree angle and, have you heard of graphic clashing i mean pokemon with this kind of game just doesnt work.
Story- 2/10 at least this one had a story but it was hard to follow and even supposed important characters had no differing sprites than anyone else. And there was no character development everyone was very flat and to have the basic name for the hero to be worker just made him/her even more distant from the player.
Programing- 3/10 no special systems or graphics but at least you tried to do some different things with menu and things and you understand basic switches and variables but it could be better
Total- 12/50
Final Thought- Just spend more time on your games and you rely need to look at each project as more of a Job because its better to have 1/8th of a great game than 4 very moderate to weak ones

Couldn't have been worded better, in my eyes.
