IMPORTANT, NEW RULES BELOW, READ THEM
Okay, excuses excuses: I fully intended to start this round on time, but I'm an idiot so.
- The theme for this round will be: FAST FOOD CHAINS
- You will create your sprite and submit it to me via PM. As always, we recommend Photobucket (http://www.photobucket.com) or ImageShack (http://www.imageshack.us) for image-hosting needs. Any difficulties with this can be asked in the thread or to me.
- DO NOT SHARE YOUR SPRITE WITH OTHERS
- The deadline for sprite submission for Round 2 is 11:30 PM EST on Monday, August 11th. If this doesn't work for you, sorry, but you were warned about tight time restrictions.
- At that time, threads will be made for each matchup and the sprites will be presented. Posts in voting threads will be for VOTES ONLY and will consist of nothing except the name of who you vote for. Discussion can wait until the post-round summary.
- Previous rules all apply, and you can look them up for yourself(NO PREVIOUSLY MADE SPRITES, for example).
NEW RULES FOR ROUND 2 AND ONWARD
- Sprites can no longer be "scenes". Likewise, in order to better provide a quality sprite and standardize results, you may not include multiple "poses". You can make more if you want to, but only submit one sprite. The general deciding factor of whether a sprite is a scene or not is the presence of things that are not a part of the subject of the sprite, IE trees around them or a background. Accessories like boxes or vehicles that are a part of the main sprite object are allowed. Not sure? Ask me.
- All sprites must use a palette of no more than 20 colors. This is an experimental rule - we must remember that this first sprite off will be a big experiment. If you are confused, what this means is that you can only use a max of 20 colors in your sprite total. Here is an example of a sprite palette (http://cardgallery.tales-tra.com/tut/palette.gif). Yours can look like whatever you want, but there must be some sort of palette table included in your sprite to verify that 20 or less colors were used. Background color is NOT included in the palette (For now :P)

In terms of the theme, you may do anything that is associated with a fast food chain or fast food in general. This includes, but is not limited to, fast food itself, fast food workers, mascots of fast food restaurants, etc. etc. Again, you can check with me if you're unsure about your submission, but try not to ask obvious questions. :P
Justifications of the new rules will be given if needed, but I'm tired right now. Bear with us guys.

Can the sprite be animated?
Edit: Nvm not going to animate it. Done with the line art now but there might be to much nudity in it >.>

Good question, animation will not be allowed as this is the same as making multiple poses and showing them all. Sorry.

Okay, so due to multiple issues with this round (And with the newfound confidence gotten from clarifying the testing nature of this sprite-off) I'm extending the deadline for sprites until next Monday at 11:30 PM. Sorry if this screws some people up or is thought to be unfair.

No problem. I agree that mine was more of a drawing... I was thinking 'it's a a bit like a faceset' but to be honest I noticed that the deadline was a couple of hours away just as I was about to go to sleep and I didn't have much time :p

made let me post the voting threads. Moosetroop11's entry was disqualified because it wasn't a sprite.

I'll be blunt. I screwed up.
Uberpwn_w00t didn't include a pallet in his entry, so he is disqualified. But I'm a dumb-dumb, so I didn't notice the lack of a pallet until after I posted the threads. Oops.
I'll have to re-randomize the matchups and repost them.

That's a shame, because that fucked-up sandwich thing deserves to win against something.
Oh! post a vote in AoA for MT and Uber! It's not a legit contest or vote or whatever, but at least we'll see the entries and whatnot.

Yeah, I had so little time, I had to submit that >.> Then when Osmose pointed out that it was more of a drawing, I got caught up in life stuff and didn't have any time.

I won't hold a grudge against you when you win at least. This is a contest to find the best spriter here, and I guess that whoever wins this probably is. Victory or not, I'm happy.
