Title: The Battle Makers
Post by: ellie-is on March 10, 2009, 09:25:05 PM
Whats this Team about?

As you may have guessed, we make stuff to be used in battles. That includes Battle Charsets, Battle Animations, Battle Weapons, System 2 Graphics, Monsters, and anything else you can think of.

Rules

1- Dont do too many requests - Try not requesting too many stuff at once. Remember that there are other people who want to request stuff for their games as well. The harder the requests, the less stuff you should request.

2 - Check the CR - If what you are looking for already exists, it's pointless for us to do it again. So, before requesting, check the Complete Resources (http://charas-project.net/resources.php?lang=en).

3 - Give us details about what you want - Saying "Hai guiz i wanna sum bows with arrows and a sw0rd 2, s1 maek it for me plxx?//??/" will get you ignored. Try saying something like "I would like a composite bow, a long bow, with some fire, ice and electric arrows, and maybe a Bastard Sword too." instead.

You need more shade, other than that, not bad. Prpl's style is getting very popular....>.>

I like the way they look just have to rework some of the positions.  Where would you recommend I shade more?

Hum.  I'll give a battlecharacter a shot, but I prefer to make chipsets.

Er...It's not about what you like. Try not to take that the wrong way, but you're doing somthing for someone else. Thus you have to do it the way they reqest to the best of your abilities. As for shading take a look at this and then take a look at yours.

If you have a bigger version of that sprite there Fish it would help because at that size it's hard to see the details of your shading don't worry I won't jack your stuff.

Well I can make it a little bigger I supose, though that's the defualt size. Give me a little bit, I'm working on a avatar for my DA acount.

Alright lets see if you guys actually do any requests or just claim to .. can you make a battle character of this?

http://media.photobucket.com/image/swordsman/aznsyko87/swordsman.jpg

mainly I like the pose the way the sword is held and the detail in his armor if you could make something off of that I would preciate it thanks.

(incase that was too vague I giving some room for artistic interpretation but a similarly posed battle char with similar armor is what I am looking for not that exact thing...thanks.)

Is it supposed to be like the RTP? I dont really like to work on that style, and I am pretty sure fish doesnts too. If its supposed to be sprite sized, you should give us his charset too.
Title: Re: The Battle Makers
Post by: JuneMoon on October 17, 2009, 12:32:25 AM
It doesn't have a charset I was gonna try to redraw some of prpl's templates but you can do it however you want what is important is the stance because thats how I think everyone should hold a sword but none of the templates I have found have that pose ... so... yea can you not make a battle char off a jpeg?
Title: Re: The Battle Makers
Post by: ellie-is on October 17, 2009, 12:36:58 AM
Well, sprite sized characters are made by editing the charset, so it looks the same in the battles as it does for the rest of the game.

Post by: JuneMoon on October 17, 2009, 12:46:03 AM
oh I guess I misunderstood what you guys did .. I generally want my battlechar to look more detailed then my charaset isn't there like a drastic difference when you guys do it that way between your guy and the 300 ft monster standing in front of him?
Title: Re: The Battle Makers
Post by: ellie-is on October 17, 2009, 12:48:31 AM
Well, we make monsters too to match the small battle chars =P
Title: Re: The Battle Makers
Post by: JuneMoon on October 17, 2009, 12:56:36 AM
Hmmm alright makes sense I spose..have you ever made a game so I could see what your monster to hero size looks like?
Title: Re: The Battle Makers
Post by: ellie-is on October 17, 2009, 01:00:19 AM
I havent.
It usually changes for all the monsters. If its a wolf, it will be smaller than the hero. If its a giant octopus, it will probably be much bigger.
But keep in mind that while we dont mind making a few monsters for you, you cant make all the monsters in your game. That would take ages.

I've seen some of your pixel art work and what not why not make your characters from scratch?? It this extrememly hard for some reason?

Not 'extrememly' hard, but it takes more time. I am really lazy and not willing to use so much of my time just to make something for free.  :/

Dont remember actually. Not too long for the pear itself but I guess it took a few hours to write everything.

I understand its pretty time consuming but it seems like all the people good at this stuff .......... don't do it.  So I guess I am just confused by that like ... you can make characters and animate moves and stuff but you don't make a game because....?
Title: Re: The Battle Makers
Post by: ellie-is on October 17, 2009, 02:01:54 AM
A game is much more than just fancy battle animations.
I need a plot, I need music, maps... And I cant do most of that stuff. :P
