Title: CoD2-ish Cameo Offer
Post by: SaiKar on December 30, 2009, 07:35:46 PM
Got great ideas for your game but coming to the realization that you just won't be able to see the whole thing all the way through? For a limited time offer I am willing to immortalize some of your heroes, plot, and items in CoD2 as an optional boss fight. I will allow Ace of Spades's heroes to demonstrate the process:

* The player, through exploration, will find various orbs, one for each optional cameo boss battle.
* The player then visits a certain location in the game where the NPCs will harness the power of the orb to create a dimensional portal to YOUR game world.

* My heroes will meet with yours and, for whatever reason, will enter combat. As a friendly contest? Because your heroes are protecting your world against invasion? You decide. The fight can have between 1 and 4 of your characters in it. It can be as hard or as easy as you want. Your characters can use moves that are more-or-less up to your discresion.

* After beating the battle, in addition to exp and money, the player can receive up to two items of your design and choosing. One can be a weapon and the other can be armor or a consumable or anything that doesn't require a lot of programming.

* The characters in my game would then be able to use your stuff through the adventure.

(if anyone wants the Exavior spiked shield weapon (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v319/SaiKar/CoD2/CameoWeapons.png), you can download it here)

So! If anyone is interested, you can give me the following:
* Between 1 and 4 characters, with up to 5 unique abilities each. All the characters must be from the same game, or at least the same "gaming universe." Basically, they need to be yours. Background story stuff is irrelevant, but combat data such as their strengths and weaknesses will be strongly taken into account.
* Any information on how you'd like the battle to flow and maybe specific things the player must do to defeat your characters. Extremely minor event-based programming stuff is okay, but I'm using the default engine so keep the insanity to a minimum.
* A character set and face set for each character.
* Some sort of basic scenario for how they will react to meeting my heroes. Exact dialog is okay, otherwise I'll wing it.
* The details of the items you want the heroes to gain from the fight. Exact stats are difficult to transfer over since my game probably scales gear differently, but a description like "a very good sword that also increases's magic powers" or "heavy armor that also gives the user a regen effect" will work. They will likely not be THE ultimate gear, but will probably be overly strong based on the alternatives. I don't want to do any complicated programming for cameo equipment so please try to stick with basic RM2k3 items here.

I will handle making the RTP-style battle enemy and the weapon sprite, if you want to include a weapon as one of the prizes.

Inclusions are based solely on my own discretion, and will include how well I know the person making the request, how much interest I have in their game (basically, if you haven't posted a game thread with these characters in it, you're fairly SOL,) how well-planned and interesting the entry seems, and how cool the characters look. I'll say right now that I'm pretty much putting in a Chisoku/Bluhman/Tri-Emerald fight no matter what Bluh says, and I'm highly inclined in putting in at least Fish's jedi.

Does the face set have to be in RTP style? Also this sounds awesome, I'll get you some sheets on David Rusty Stu and junk. *Runs off to do so....Only to forget and do it a week latter*

Thats a neat idea.  I may try to do this just because. =P  That'll mean I'll have to do facesets for them.  Ugh.

Sounds like a pretty cool idea.
I have a couple characters (from different universes. I would have to pick one of them) that might work... But I don't have any charsets or facesets. And I haven't posted a thread for any of them...

Face sets I'm willing to waive if people really don't have them. But chara are a must, if only because I need SOMETHING to base the battle sprite off of...

I might just have to create something to represent Control. It'd be interesting to see how Nel and Beth would fair.

I just decided who I'm going to submit. Its someone thats everyone knows.
Can I make the battle char too? And the battle animations that he will use?
And should I post it all here or PM you?

You can create your own battlers, if you wish. I merely offer by default to make sure it will get done. Animations are also welcome.

Any method you want to tell me your ideas, be it public posting, PM, or email (though I admit I don't check email very often) will be fine.

Alrighty...

*Four characters:
Chisoku: Fast, powerful attacker. Unusually good at evasion, and focuses mainly on blunt attacks, though he does have some elemental specials, such as his lightning-endowed Victory punch, and his desperation attack, the Rocket kick, which also does fire damage. He also has elemental pistol attacks for fire, lightning, and ice.
Bluhman: One of two 'mages' for the group; he uses a pistol that does piercing damage, as well as various grenades that inflict status effects or do high fire damage. He has a few techniques that can raise the attack power of his party. He also has unusually good accuracy with his attacks, and has one pistol technique that pierces defense. A very strong hitter with status ailment inflicting attacks, but also suffers from somewhat low health.
Tri-Emerald: The other 'mage'; she has even less health than Bluhman, but can inflict mental status ailments on the entire enemy party, and is also an incredible healer. She also has access to psionic attacks, which all ignore defense (since you can't very well armor your mind.)
Diamondgard: The tank of the team; has the absolute highest health and defense. When I say that, I mean he has it in spades. He's got roughly the same damage output as Chisoku; he hits harder, but slower, and also suffers from lower accuracy of attacks. Where he truly shines, though, is the fact he can generate shields for his team.

If you really want to get an accurate idea of their team dynamics, you can read this document I wrote up for the Alpha Force remake I'm making writing.
Moves with two stars besides them are Desperation attacks.
Quote
Chisoku

Map ability - Leap across gaps and evade threats.

Task - Damage against single targets

Stats
HP - Medium-High
ATK - High      DEF - Med
SPD - Very High      INT/PWR - Med

Elements used in attacks:
Smashing   Piercing
Fire      Ice
Electric

Elements strong against:
Piercing

Elements weak against:
Electric

Moves

Offense

Brawl
Standard attack

Tri-strike
Three-hit combo; costs some endurance, but does decent damage. The most cost-effective way to dish it out.

Crash Kick
Straight kick that has a slight chance of stunning the enemy. Higher endurance cost, but a lot more damage dealt than Tri-strike

Flash Jab
This simple jab does pretty pitiful damage, but has an excellent chance of stunning the enemy. Pretty low endurance cost.

Victory Punch
A signature finisher of Chisoku's; has a very low hit chance, but if it does hit, it will do extreme damage, and might stun the enemy. If each hit was successful, this could prove the most cost-effective way to deal damage. Does both smashing and electric damage.

Quick flurry
Throws tons of lightning-fast jabs. Moderate damage, and only a low chance of it. If it does hit, then it has the potential to dish out a slew of different status effects on the enemy.

Top Crasher
Chisoku's only crowd-hit attack causes him to twirl in a deadly tornado of collision into the enemy ranks. Does about the same effect as the Tristrike on all enemies, except at 2.5 times the energy cost.

Rocket Kick**
Desperation move. An exceedingly powerful kick against a single enemy. Has some fire damage included, too. Can stun and/or paralyze.

Item attack

Boomerang Crest
Throws the golden 'v' emblem on your head at an enemy. Does some decent damage, but can disarm enemies that use weapons.

Cryo Pistol
A fixed damage ice-pistol, which can get upgraded over the course of the game. For each upgrade, though, the pistol does a fixed amount of ice-damage to enemies, and has a chance to stun. Very accurate.

Pyro Pistol
Fixed-damage fire-pistol. Does great amounts of fire damage, and severely reduces defense. Fixed amounts for both, though. Very high accuracy, once more.

Elec Pistol
A secret addon to your pistol; a very high damage attack which can paralyze enemies. Has much lower accuracy than the Cryo or Pyro pistols, though.

Defense/Buff

Focus
Boosts Chisoku's attack abilities

Ardenal Boost
Doubles Agility and Defense for 10 turns, and also greatly boosts end recovery.

Bluhman

Task - Destroy big groups and special enemies.

Map ability - Can randomly increase experience and cash yield from fights.

Stats
HP - Medium
ATK - Med      DEF - Low
SPD - Med-High      PWR - High

Elements used in attacks
Piercing   Fire
Crushing

Elements Strong against:
Psionics

Elements Weak against:

Moves
Offensive

Brawl

Pistol Shot
Low endurance cost attack; basic, dependent on Bluhman's high power. Also has the highest accuracy.

Trigger Finger
Fires a barrage of gunshots at a single enemy. Better damage than the basic pistol shot; slightly less cost-effective, though, and a bit less accurate.

Armor-Piercing Round
Fires a somewhat weak shot that ignores defense. As a result, it does a lot better against highly armored enemies. It also reduces defense.

Squallshot
Fires a 100% hit attack at normal strength. Greater end cost, of course.

Fatal Aim
Attempts to fire straight for the kill. Incredible damage, but terrible accuracy.

Point Blank**
Fires an exceedingly strong shot straight into the face of one enemy. Can inflict either a stun or instant kill.

Web Grenade
Throws a web grenade at one enemy. No damage, but good chance to stun an enemy. Also reduces speed.

Smoke Grenade
Throws a grenade that causes a huge cloud of smoke to maifest; blocks the vision of all enemies, blinding them! Also reduces attack and power.

Concussion Grenade
Throws a fire-damage grenade into the enemy thick; does good damage to all enemies. Also reduces defense.

Support

First Aid
Ability that cures all physical status ailments (including unconciousness), and restores 10% HP. Has a disproportiantely large end. cost, though.

Order attack
Raises all allies attack and power.

Order retreat
A run away command with an 85% chance of success against standard enemies. Never works on bosses.

Document
Gets short profile entries on all enemies that are, or were, on the battlefield. Describes strengths, weaknesses, and what they do.

Tri-Emerald

Task - Control enemies and heal.

Map Ability - Can read minds of hostages/criminals/etc.

Stats
HP - Low
ATK - Low      DEF - Med
SPD - Med      PWR - Med-High

Elements used in attacks
Energy      Crushing
Psionic

Elements strong against:
Psionic      Crushing

Elements weak against:

Moves
Offensive

Brawl

Mental dart
Fires a mental bolt at an enemy. A basic attack, pretty much. All of Tri-emeralds psionic attacks ignore defense.

Mindblow
An intense direct attack on an enemies mind. Can inflict any mental ailment, and does low damage. Moderate accuracy.

Dominate
Attempts to stop one enemy from fighting. In short, it 'kills' them, or tries to.

Psion Storm
Energy/Psionic based attack that hits all enemies for some fair damage. Has a slightly disproportionate End cost, though.

Drowsiness
Tries to send all enemies into sleep state. All of the main ailment attacks that she has have a higher-than-average chance of success.

Insanity
Tries to send all enemies against one another.

Fear
Tries to paralyze all enemies... Though, it has a lower than average chance of success.

Stress blast**
Fires a huge destructive blast of psionic energy at all enemies. Ouch. Like Psion blow, it can inflict any mental element on the enemies.

Support

Empathy heal
Heals a large amount of health to one ally, and bestows them with doubled attack and defense for 3 turns.

Clear mind
Removes mental status ailments from a character.

Refresh
Removes physical status ailments from a character; has a slightly higher end cost than Clear Mind.

Will
Revives a single ally from unconciousness with full health. Costs a lot of endurance, obviously.

Mass heal
Heals all allies for a significant portion of their health. No stat boosts, though, and costs a lot more end than the singular version.

Recall Minds
Removes mental status ailments from all allies.

Diamondgard

Task - Defense of the team.

Map Ability - Can break apart obstacles.

Stats
HP - Very high
ATK - High      DEF - Very high
SPD - Low      PWR - Med

Elements used in attacks
Crushing

Elements strong against:
Crushing   Piercing
Fire      Ice
Electricity   Energy

Elements weak against:
Psionic

Moves
Offensive

Brawl

Punch
Basic punch. Pretty good damage, low end cost, the usual.

Haymaker
Stronger punch, which can cause some stun.

Tenderizer
A series of grinding punches that severely wear down an enemy's defense, and does some fine damage as well.

Exact Smash
An attack that has a chance to stun the enemy.

Knockout Blow
A mighty uppercut that can instantly wipe out an enemy. Can also deal out instant death, but it's overall unlikely to connect.

Rock Toss
Lifts a big chunk of earth out of the ground and throws it at an enemy; good damage, and reduces enemy attack power.

Quake
Hits all enemies for some damage, and can stun them.

Support

Berserker
Increases Diamondgard's attack power.

Quartz Shield
Boosts defense, and resistance against piercing and crushing attacks.

Diamond Shield
Boosts resistance against fire, ice, electric, and energy attacks.

Opal Shield
completes the defense ring by boosting all other resistances.

Mirror Sanctuary
Disables one ally from moving for 8 turns. In turn, that character can't take damage, because all attacks thrown at them get reflected back at the enemy.

Seal Breaker
Completely heals the other three members of the team, in exchange for Diamondgard's life.

Undergoddess' Revival**
Desperation action where Diamondgard will summon the aid of the undergoddess to revive all allies, and restore roughly 75% of their health, as well as Diamondgard's own health.
*Just make the characters fight with dynamic tactics; if an ally is low on health, have Tri-Emerald heal him. If Tri-Emerald dies, have Diamondgard hanker up on shields. If Chisoku dies? Have the party begin to focus more on damage dealing.
However, it should be noted that these are all strategies that are being given by the team's tactical leader: Bluhman. If he gets killed, the battle begins to go into disarray for the three remaining heroes. It's pretty clear he's leading his team; he shouts out orders in dialog from time to time.

Tri-Emerald's Charset here is easily the most important one; you can see she got a redesign.

Then again, I don't think anyone's seen Diamondgard's Charset before.

*And this...
Orb is used. A bright flash of light, and the four members of the Alpha Force warp in in front of the COD party.

Chisoku: Damn... I'm never going to get used to that.

Bluhman: Yeah. Feels all weird inside, doesn't it? Being rebuilt from the ground up particle by particle? Modern science has truly come quite a ways.

Diamondgard: This is not right.

Tri-Emerald: Yeah. Guys? Who are these people?

Bluhman and Chisoku turn to notice the CoD cast. Then they begin to examine their surroundings.

Bluhman: What the hell...

Chisoku: We were meaning to teleport to 37th, Carmander Street, right?

Bluhman: That's right. I swear, me and Tom checked and double checked we got those coordinates right.

Chisoku: Hmm... I guess I'll check with him. *Chisoku takes out a radio in his wrist/watch/thing... Whatever. He begins speaking into his wrist.* Tom? Do you copy? We've been teleported to the incorrect location... Like, a REALLY incorrect one... Tom? Hello? *He puts away his wrist walkie-talkie.* No signal.

Diamondgard: This place. It reminds me of your world from thousands of years ago... When I last emerged.

Bluhman: Are you suggesting we went back in time?

Diamondgard: No. That would be impossible.

Bluhman: Obviously. The only other explanation is that we somehow ruptured time and space, which would be even less possible...

Tri Emerald: *Thinking about what's transpired, she walks up to Jason and asks him:* Um... Sir? We really need your help. Do you know what the current date is?

Jason: ...Year? In... Relation to what?
NOTE: You don't seem to have a date for your game...

Bluhman: *Lightly pushes Tri-Emerald to the side as he approaches Jason* Alright, alright. I got this, don't worry. *Now talking to Jason* As you probably figured... We're not supposed to be here. In fact, we are EXTREMELY far from home. We need some information on where we are exactly. Could you perhaps tell us?

Jason: Well, you're on the Flying Islands of Jasonia. I'm actually the leader of the place, Jason... Yeah. How can I help you, mysterious friends?

Chisoku: Heh. Yeah, We're on a floating island named after yourself... ... ... What?

Bluhman: Alright, very funny. We've got a serious crime to solve here, son, so you just tell us where we are, and how we can get back to our proper job.

Jason: That's the truth. I swear on it!

Bluhman smacks Jason across the face. He stumbles backwards and onto his tush. Bluhman draws out a gun and aims it at Jason.

Bluhman: You are in NO position to be lying to me, 'Jason'. Tell us how you got us here, and send us back to 37, Carmander Street.

Bill: *Draws out his sword and holds it at Bluhman's Throat* HEY! Get your hands off him!

Bluhman: You seriously think you're going to be able to threaten me with a medieval weapon? For your own good, remove that blade from my chin.

Bill: Lower that gun... And tell us what you want from us...

Bluhman: I'm giving you to the count of three. Tell us the truth, and I will spare your friend here.

Bill: That's it. Have at you!!

Bill takes a swing with his blade, but Diamondgard runs up behind him and keeps him held. Since Diamondgard is like 5 heads taller than Bill and 5 times stronger, Bill obviously can't escape.

Bill: Oof! Get your arms offa me! *Diamond tightens his massive grip* AAAGGGHHH!!!

Diamondgard: You don't stand a chance against me.

Erika: Maybe I do!

Erika charges at Diamondgard and deals a sky slash to his face. Diamondgard just sort of stumbles back as if he simply got hit in the head with a football and lets Bill go. Bluhman, seeing clearly that Erika is a greater threat, turns his gun to her, at which point Jason gets back up and blasts Bluhman back.

Bluhman: Another Psion!?

Jason: Just who are you?

Bluhman: I'm through with negotiations. We need to settle this properly... Alpha Force! Assemble!!

Chisoku, Tri-Emerald and Diamondgard rush to Bluhman's side.

Tri-Emerald: Bluhman... But, they don't know what-

Bluhman: They are clearly threats. We need to destroy them to protect Roosevelt City!

Chisoku: Bluhman, we don't even know if we're in the city anymore...

Tri-Emerald: They don't know anything about us, Bluhman. They're innocent victims!

Bluhman: Then they're of no use to us. I think they've defined themselves quite well as enemies to us.

Diamondgard: I don't even feel that we are upon our planet Gaia anymore.

Chisoku: So you're saying they're aliens, then? ... Why are they speaking English?

Bluhman: This could easily be a ploy to fool us... An elaborate scheme to trap us while others are free to commit crimes in the city.

Tri-Emerald: Bluhman, please! Their minds do not carry a single trace of knowledge about what Roosevelt City is! They don't even know what planet Earth is!

Chisoku: That still doesn't explain why they speak English... I'm sorry, but I'm with Bluhman on this one. It seems to make sense.

Jason: I wish I could avoid this fight, but I guess you're all too thick to get the message... I guess I apologize for what I'm about to do, but I've seriously had it up to here with your crazy antics.

Bluhman: This is it. No more time to waste, team! We must fight for our survival!

BATTLE START. Then Bluhman and his team gets knocked out.

Jason: You had enough?

Bluhman: Dammit... Alright, that's it. We're through. Do whatever you please with us.

Chisoku: I know I'm going to regret you saying that, Bluhman.

Jason: *Beginning to use Psionics to read the minds of his opponents* ... So... You're actually from Roosevelt City? Planet Earth?

Bluhman: What, you're acting stupid, now? It's obvious where we're from. You PUT US IN THIS TRAP and now you're trying to fool us into thinking we're in a completely different place! IT'S NOT WORKING. You've already bested us; just drop the charade and take what you want.

Chisoku: Bluhman, do you seriously think that makes sense?

Bluhman: Well, fine. Tri-Emerald. Scan that guy's mind for information on where HE thinks he is. I bet they brainwashed some convoluted story about another world into his mind to stop Psions like you.

Bluhman is gesticulating towards Jason. Tri Emerald uses her abilities.

Tri-Emerald: He's... He thinks he's ruler of a floating nation, known as Jasonia, which is situated on flying islands... If his thoughts are true, we aren't even on planet earth anymore...

Jason: And you're... Beth Hyral. You're from the city, too. You were prejudiced against due to your third eye in school... Another Psion, a classmate, offered to help you, but then betrayed you by... By... Oh my god... Oh my god, That's terrible.

Tri-Emerald: So now you know...

Diamondgard: What's going on?

Chisoku: Those two are apparently exchanging thoughts.

Bill: So, who are these hooligans? Are we going to gut them or something?

Jason: No. They need help. They need our help to get back to where they came from.

Erika: They're from another dimension?

Jason: Another dimension, another planet, another time period... Everything.

Bluhman: You've got to be kidding me. You mean that you people, who STILL USE SWORDS have already figured out the key to traveling between dimensions and through time?

Chisoku: Well, it could be possible... We don't know what lies beyond our dimension, after all. We've only recently learned of extraterrestrial life in our age.

Bluhman: Ok, maybe, but this is so utterly lopsided. A man who looks more like a pirate travels around the world with his three cohorts, all armed with swords, is also the president of a country that's on a floating island on another planet that has somehow failed to master the techniques of steel girders and automobiles before learning how to make devices that travel between dimensions and time... And they somehow still speak English, even though the country of England isn't even on this planet? This seems like some person's messed up dream rather than another legitimate dimension!

Chisoku: ... But... Yeah, it's POSSIBLE.

Jason: Look, I know it's very strange for you, being from a world that has extremely tall steel structures, giant metal things hurtling through the streets, and... Um, people running around in tights tearing down schools and libraries with electricity... *Jason turns around to his party, all of which are on the brink of laughter at the shear rediculousness of the world Bluhman is from* (Seriously, can you believe this guy?)

Bluhman: What's so funny?

Jason: Yeah, no. We understand how this dimension thing works. We'll promise to send you back... IF you give us something in return.

Bluhman: We've got nothing.

Chisoku: Aw, come on. We really should. I mean, these are people who know how to to travel through dimensions and time. For... Well, our the personal safety of our time period, we should probably give them something in return for helping us out... Heck, they might even tell us the secret to crossing dimensions and stuff if we do agree!

Bluhman: Huh... So, it seems. Very well. We will give you a bit of a reward... If you promise to give us that orb there you somehow managed to summon us with.

Bill: ... Don't see the harm in that.

Erkia: I agree.

Jason: Sounds good to me, too. Here you go. Hopefully, it still works.

Bluhman: Excellent. Our scientists will greatly appreciate this interesting invention... Hmm...

Tri-Emerald: What should we give in return?

Chisoku: Actually, I think I could part with this...

Chisoku takes the golden emblem off his helmet, and hands it to Jason.

Chisoku: It's a boomerang. Toss that at enemies, it'll cut them good. Not only that, but it can actually take weapons right out of their hands if you aim it properly. Just a well-timed flick of the wrist. Got it?

Jason: Yeah. Thanks!

Bluhman: Are you sure you want to part with that, Chisoku?

Chisoku: Hey, it'll do. Besides, I got like 12 spares back at the base.

Diamondgard: I will offer you a reward as well.

Diamondgard takes a sliver of his chest-jewel off and hands it to Jason.

Diamondgard: This is a piece of the jewel that offers me my power. Wear it around your neck as an amulet, and it will protect you in the most dire of situations.

Jason: Interesting. Thank you.

Diamondgard: May the undergoddess be with you.

Bluhman: Okay... So, how do we get back to our Dimension?

Erika: I think you actually just slap the side of the orb three times...

Bluhman: Really?

Tri-Emerald: That sounds odd...

Bluhman: Well, it's worth a shot.

Bluhman slap that thang three times, a gate opens up.

Bluhman: I'll be. That's Roosevelt right through there, alright. Jason, I thank you for your mercy towards us... And especially putting up with my ranting about you being... Fake. It's just so hard to believe there's actually something else out there than Earth, especially when the other side seems so unusually similar. I wish you good luck on whatever villains you might take down in your dimension. Farewell!

Bluhman and the team steps through.
*Two items are rewarded for defeating a team of four superheroes.

Flying Emblem: A ranged weapon that was once on Chisoku's Helmet. It has a ranged boomerang animation, but operates a lot more like a sword. Does excellent damage, lowers attack power of the enemy, and has a slight chance of stealing items from enemies with weapons.

Diamond Guard: An accessory that turns the wearer into a walking tank; increased defense against most attack types (the only thing that's truly exempt from this item's resistances is psionic damage), and greatly boosts the defense stat.

I will neither confirm nor deny that this entire exercise has been designed to help me figure out cool ways to deal with dynamic boss battle situations and/or give me a legitimate excuse to mess with other people's characters.

All four enemies have the normal physical attack, defense command, and a single normal tech available to them at all times. Bluhman will periodically yell something out, which is an indication that the party is changing modes. There are three possible attack modes, with each mode "unlocking" a skill on the character's tree.

All-out mode: Each character attempts to do as much damage to the party as possible.
* Chisoku gains Top Crasher; all-enemy damage
* Bluhman gains Armor-Piercing Round; damage that ignores defense
* Tri-Emerald gains Psion Storm; all-enemy damage
* Diamondgard gains Tenderizer; damage + defense down
This mode gives them their most damaging skills, but they won't be watching their defenses at all so it's a good time to try to take one of them out if you can manage it.

Subdue mode: Each character uses techs designed to bog down the party while also doing damage
* Chisoku gains Crash Kick; damage + stun
* Bluhman gains Smoke Grenade; all-enemy blind
* Tri-Emerald gains Mindblow; can inflict mental break (half mind), distract (MP drain) or chaos (will attack party members)
* Diamondgard gains Quake; all-enemy light damage + stun
This mode doesn't do much damage, but can inflict some freaking annoying status, which makes the player vulnerable against further assault

Defense mode: Each character gains a support technique to help eachother out
* Chisoku gains Cryo Pistol; damage + freeze (a paralyze effect that does damage over time)
* Bluhman gains First Aid; heals a single ally and removes bad status effects (except dying, sorry Bluh, gotta make the fight actually beatable)
* Tri-Emerald gains Mass Heal; moderate healing to the entire party
* Diamondgard gains Quartz Shield; a single-target permanent minor defense bonus plus a major short-term defense shield
This mode is the least threatening and is probably a good time for the player to buff themselves back up to fighting shape before the attack renews. It's also a good time to dish out some pain if they're in good shape already.

Tri-Emerald has an all-ally 50% revive skill named Radiant Will that she will almost certainly use immediately after one of her allies goes down. The only way to stop this is to defeat Tri-Emerald herself as none of the other characters can revive or to disable her with a status effect that prohibits action or casting.

All characters have a desperation attack at lower than 25% health. Chisoku and Bluhman's are basically the same as described. Tri-Emerald will spam Empathy Heal. Diamondgard's is too broken for enemies to have so his will probably involve drastically increasing party defenses.

Bluhman must be "able to act" (not under any bad stutus that disables his actions) to issue new orders, which he will do often and randomly. If he is defeated, the rest of the party will go into "Panic mode" where they gain access to most of their skills but have no plan in using them and are unable to use their desperation attack at low health.

I haven't gotten it completely balanced yet (as I'm not quite sure what level I'm balancing the fight for) but man is this a freakin wild battle. Roosevelt City puts up a good fight.

Any other takes?  :)
