Title: Metrodian 8-bit tile sheet
Post by: mrcannibalhead on January 26, 2010, 03:44:22 PM
Okay, I've uploaded this to my shiny new google page, lets see if this works....

(http://404484964748431158-a-1802744773732722657-s-sites.googlegroups.com/site/atabnae/8bitMetrodian.png?attachauth=ANoY7cqOzXAwsS0Lke7t71x3epnHRFH6s04oh2-ihh3La0f2Of5PcIbxE_LExcVHKVB6QrME5vZh4wgojXPyvGTpLJa0TPIoK61mUVBpNUC9HIkILicrBmFa7NyiC6bPjLrwfQaFSpm5iiNaKpbqhnwHpzB-Y6VEm_JtLGPVHhG01BBWvaoFJRreGglRFr60MKzijTNs4Q6k&attredirects=0)

IF that worked.....
I modified this from a super metroid tile set I found on ShyGuy Kingdom.  I don't remember who did the original rip, so sorry to who you is or be, but that's sort of credit.  Aside from the snazy pseudo-8-bit color sceme, this is also a larger size tile set than the original (original was 16 pixel tiles).  This works great in Game Maker, but it needs some conversion to wrok in RPGM I think.  Mainly I gots to take out the spacing.  I've been meaning to do that, but it's a pain in my nether regions, and since I could work with it in GM I kept putting it off.  I've also also got some other sets made from the same rip with various color scemes I can post if anyones interested.  I'll try to get around to reworking it to be more RPGM-friendly some time this week or something.  I'm slack, and there's always so much of alot of stuff to do.

What are you trying to do exactly? Show us an image? Might be better to upload it on Photobucket or the likes. Or something. Oh and maybe just edit your posts instead of posting a new one to avoid double posting or in this case, triple.

Got it. You had to leave off the ?attredirects=0 part so that the image ended in the .png extention.

Thanks for the help (to those who were helpful).  Like I' said, fairly new to this sort of thing.
So I can go back and edit my post?  I'll keep that in mind.
As to the less helpful replies....
gemini - I'm not sure what you mean by "buggy" but I said right up front that it wasn't tiled for RPGM (twice I think).  If your using Game Maker, just set the verticle and horizontal separation to 4 each and it should tile fine.  Great in fact.  It took me a couple of tries to get it stretched so that it would tile smooth.  I would have removed the seperation, but since it worked well enough with what I used that was just alot of work for no benifit to me personally.  Since nobody but me seems to like the tileset and I can already use it with no problem I'm not likely to fix it for the benifit of no-one.
Now if that's just a wordy, uppity way of saying you don't like the tileset and you just want to knock a newb down a peg (and I think that's the case), then you can just go blow yourself.  Nobody's making you use it, and it's not like you paid anybody.  Don't be a jackass.
To the guy who said "meh", I don't know what that means, so I don't give a flying lizzard's balls.  If it's intended to be insulting read what I said to gemini and blow as appropriate.
Wow, my first attempt to share my resources really bombed.
My fun is spoiled now.  I'm gonna go play elsewhere today.
Thanks again to SaiKar.  That really was helpful.  :)
