this is a heads up...
Contest. Game making. Un-Official announcement.Official will go down on January first...but Im trying to generate some Hype.
You will make a game. You dont know what you will make it with yet, but you will have some options. It will be 30min-2hours long. The theme will be wide open but there will be a twist. You will have a strict but generous amount of time. There will be a grand prize winner, a runner up, and an honorable mention. You will be encouraged to make something simple and fun over making some drawn out story driven dogpile. More details will come. If this works, expect it to happen again.
The judges mostly will be non-charas, but people knowledgeable in game design.
Prize Pool so far is:
A Brand New Bamboo Touch Tablet
Fifty Dollars Cash, which will probably turn into a 50$ Gift card
Ten Dollars itunes card.
Prize Pool is subject to increase. So far all prizes are donated by the same guy...but Im looking for some other people to sponsor. If youd like to donate, send me a PM. If you would like to Judge, then donate.

Awesome. I need that second prize.
I mean, I already have a tablet, why bother winning. Sure, I could sell it, but I'm sure there are a lot of tablet-less people out there who could use getting a tablet.
What happens if someone donates and wins? Do they get back whatever they donated? I mean, I'm not gonna donate anything (and probably won't win) because I have no money at all, but I thought it was worth asking.
You money owning people should totally donate. Donating is cool and all. And it gets people motivated to join gaming contests.

Its a Bamboo Touch. Not a Pen and Touch. Fingerpainting....not pen. I may chip that money for second into a bigger grand prize so the Bamboo is the runner up. I dont want to have participants donate if I can help it feels.....courrupt. Donating to the Pool Buys you into a judge position, basically. You guys just worry about making games and winning free stuff at the expense of the loudmouth admin hosting the contest

I'm deciding to see what the rules are. If I like 'em and think I can pull something off, I'll contribute. Otherwise I'll toss something into the pot.

Its pretty much going to be "make a cross genre, gameplay-over-storyline project using one of a list of Game makers
(pretty much any maker that is not in private beta) and the game must be stand alone, meaning If I have to download a seperate RTP package to play it, Its bunk. Im mostly just hashing out technicalities.

So, any RPG Maker game would have to come with any graphic used in it. (Not too big of a deal if you don't use too much RTP)

I will have to try this out. Never completed a game ever so this could be motivation plus may be able to test my code for my upcoming game as well. I can't wait.

Okay. Stuff happened, I'm not sure if I'm still gonna be able to enter, hopefully this won't affect my internet life all that much but it probably will so yeah.
