Title: Permission request
Post by: Dubh on February 11, 2011, 10:53:51 AM
Hi,

I am an amateur developer who enjoys making games in his spare time. Soon enough I hope to be releasing an iPhone game.
I am not the greatest artist. I came across your wonderful project recently and I was wondering if it would be okay to use some of the character I generate in my new game.

I would be more than happy to list the Charas-Project in my credits and if my game makes any money I would be more than happy to make a donation.

Kind regards

Should be okay by us, as long as you remember that all sprites there are edits or at least based on the original rpg maker sprites by enterbrain, which might not be entirely legal.

Perhaps it would be better if I used the charas sprites as placeholder art while testing my game and then before release I'll pay an artist to redraw some different sprites for a commercial release. (I'd rather not take anyone elses work without their permission)

Sounds good indeed.

Yes, that's for the best. We release our work for any non-commercial venture, but if you plan on selling this iphone game it would be better to use original works.
