This little bugger may be the greatest patch to come to Rm2k3. This patch actually allows plug-ins for the maker allowing endless possibilities to those with knowledge in C++. If you aren't familiar, there a quite a few plug-ins around.
I am playing on downloading all of these and uploading them somewhere else, but for the time being, here some links. If you happen to notice I linked to a site that has RPG Maker let me know (or tell a Mod, that works too I guess). Happy Game Making!

Update Log
May 22, 2011
-----------------------
Update links to My Window and Infranview, and removed links of Rm2k General Utility and GameNameGame due to RM2k links.
-
Damn, I haven't checked out Cherry's site in a while, that PicPointer patch is awesome. Would've been a godsend when I was still trying to make my cbs.
Sticky?
-
That's the goal.
Yeah, I was on the site and started using the Better AEP patch and its pretty amazing. The 2009 Ultimate thing is interesting too.
-
Damn, some of these are pretty nifty!
-
There's some good stuff here. Stickied.
-
This is great. Now they're all in one place. Thanks, AFL. I'll use some of these for my game!
Oh yeah, is it possible to add multiple patches?
-
I'm not sure. The way that some of them are installed, it leads me to believe that not all of them can be used at the same time. I think that you can use all of the ones that require the Hyper Patcher at the same time.
-
Well thanks bot, you reminded me to work more on this! When I am not about to take a nap.
(Whoa... when I posted it broke the forum and went to the white version. XD)
-
Bots? I don't see no bots.
-
There was. At one point.
-
Back in july?
-
Yeah, Dren.
That was kind of a fail.
-
Just wanted to direct everyone's attention to this. http://rpgmaker.net/forums/topics/11004/ (http://rpgmaker.net/forums/topics/11004/)
This alone could easily take half the work out of any cbs and even more of the work out of the a cms.
-
Yeah, I saw that one awhile ago. Can't you decide the font with that?
-
I don't believe you can, it uses whatever font you've chosen as default. Which with Hyper patch you can change to whatever you want. That would be very nice though, to be able to use different fonts for different text lines.
-
I know this is a big bump... but well, I've read about these and noticed one that caught my attention, namely RMRecker.
Is there anyone who has tried using it before the link went dead? I wonder if it can edit damage calculations (most notably for skills) and other such things. Basically, just want to know what it can do and if the link can be made non-dead.
-
Sorryyyy... I kinda dropped of the face of the earth when it came to RPG maker and completely forgot about this... I'll get that program uploaded somewhere eventually. Promise. Just have Lucas stalk me on facebook to do it.
-
Rmrecker is a graphics utility only. It edits graphics in rm2k3 you wouldnt be able to normally. It does not edit anything else. Sorry man.
-
*Raise* I was never quite clear if it was possible to pre-patch the default Rmexe with one of these. . . it would for example be useful to have reflect bugs automatically fixed in any game you downloaded or made.
-
There is a patch for the reflect bug. Any and all patches stay with your game, even when you zipthem and upload it to a filesharing site.
-
Can someone tell me how to work Powermode? I'm trying to make a title screen but I don't know how to use the load and exit part. Someone please tell me.
-
Hm, that is a good question, I've never used the patch and reading the readme isn't too big of a help. I'm assuming that what you do is change the variable 255 to 1 and see if that opens the load screen. You must have a saved game first though.
So, just go through the title screen choose your new game option and then save as soon as you can, exit the game and then reopen and see if what I said works. According to the readme, change var:255 to 1 to open save states, and variable 256 to exit back to windows.
-
Added a link to Dynrpg.
-
ResHack's link doesn't work. It seems quite useful but sadly there is no download. :/
-
Totes dropped the ball on this thread. You should be able to find all of these with a quick google search. Also added a new resource, http://www.bfxr.net/ (http://www.bfxr.net/) , which is on online sound effect creator.
-
I used the ResHack just now, other than that the only one I used was the auto enter/title screen skip patch.
-
Hello,
I can't find a working link to the font fix. I downloaded the rpg2k on my new computer and darned if the font isn't just amazingly thick in the message box! Can someone direct me to a working link? Thanks,
parisfrance2004
by the way these verification letters are hard to read.

Hey guys,
A quick message since I think this is the right place to put it. A japanese guy is making improvement patches on the official RM2k3 , it's called RM2k3 MANIACS. So far a few great things have been implemented such as mouse recognition, blending modes, picture rotation, modification to the battle commands.
There's a huge changelog here:
https://github.com/EasyRPG/Player/issues/1818
and the official website in Japanese is here:
https://bingshan1024.github.io/steam2003_maniacs/
For installation there's a forum post on RMN:
https://rpgmaker.net/forums/topics/24260/?p=1#posts
It is so far unclear if this works only with the steam install (which it seems to suggest) or also with the official standalone version, I hope it does or that'd be very unfair.
-
Good find, interested in seeing what else will happen since they seem to have abandoned the steam version again.
-
As far as I understood, Cherry worked as an external contractor for the launch of 2k3 but is not anymore. Tbf Degica never seemed so interested in the old versions of RM, I remember the wait for the first (and only) update to the official 2k3, and we had to wait an extra year or so for having the update on the standalone version; probably just because alot of people shouted at them. I think they'll never provide official updates on it so it's good to see someone else doing it. Although the patch seems a bit weird to apply, I'm not sure I understood properly how to do it.
-
Hey!
I just downloaded the maniac patch - and definitely adds a bunch of functionality. Can't believe I missed it last year.
-
Never could get any patches or mods to work on any version of RPG Maker 2003. Though to be fair I spent two years playing minecraft vanilla before I figured out how to get Forge to work XD Maybe I'll try again if it can add some functionality.
-
The Maniac patch is designed to work with the official translation - so I didn't have any issues with adding it.
-
http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/reshacker_setup.exe Link to reshacker fro the dead link on rapid.
