Title: Problemos.
Post by: greenraven on July 26, 2012, 05:11:08 PM
Um, two things.

1) It wouldn't let me create a topic in the help&support forum.

2) After the update the site became quite laggy. On the phone though, it still works fine on the PC. It's not really a big deal, but I thought I'd mention it anyways. I'm sure there might be other people who check this place mobily.

Help and support forum is more like, a place where the rules are for when people need to read them. I guess maybe we should change the name. You're not supposed to create threads there... You can just make a thread in other places, though, like you did!

And, as for the latter, I have no idea. I'll have to check with Ed.

Yeah, renaming it is probably a good idea. Just cut it down to "Rules".

Also anyone else noticed that the quick reply window is stretching waaaaaaaaaaaaay off the screen?

I haven't done anything that make the site load slower. If you weren't using 2O11 before the switch, then it's the base 2O11 theme that takes longer to load than Curve.

I think I've fixed it in a recent update, but we'll have to wait until Lucas installs it.

Nope.
The front page looks much better. The posts are all still the same color, though.

Is it just me or is the forum suddenly all screwed up and whacky? O_O

No, it is for me as well. Kind of annoying. I have faith that it will get fixed soon, though.

When I sent a semi-update to Lucas, it was just a few small fixes, no code changes (and therefore, still no banners). So he decided to try out something he found that promised to restore the banners. Obviously, whatever it was does not like the 2O11 my theme. I haven't touched the coding in my semi-update, so I'm sure it's not on my side.

We'll just have to wait it out, I guess, until Lucas fixes this or finds someone who can.

EDIT: Apparently, switching back to original 2O11 works. But, as I've said, I haven't touched the coding since the first update, just modified some colors. But, I'm gonna look back into it and see if Murphy's Law is just late to the party.

I think it has something to do with how the theme you edited had no banner to begin with.

That's what I assumed. When you installed the update first, before turning on the banner thingy, did it look like this?

This is pretty confusing. Signatures, quotes and everything are pretty much all merged together. It's quite chaotic.
But then again, to reach the best, one has to go through various trials. Life ain't easy, even for forums.

Neat. It's not a random cycle, but it'll do for now.

Noticed another wee little thing. When you click on the "last post by" link it doesn't take you to the last post but the first post of the page. Anyone else?

That's a noted problem!
I think we were bitching about it in an unrelated topic, like we do.

Has anyone looked at their profiles lately? Particularly the number of posts and "posts per day"? O_O

Dammit Lucas, you told me you fixed that.

Lucas thought nobody would notice if he switched the number notation to European style (periods to delimit thousands) instead of what we consider "normal" style (commas to delimit thousands).

So you know the whole thing about the site not working properly on phones, right?

CLICK 1 (http://www.angel-spire.com/forum/) CLICK 2 (http://www.angel-spire.com/forum/lofiversion/index.php)

See that? You can do a mobile version option. I'm not the one who installed it for us, but if you guys want I could ask next time he's online.

We have one too, it's just...awful.

Also, goddammit Lucas, I gave you the fix, why haven't you done it yet.

I just tried changing my avatar a couple of times, it kept telling me they're all to large. What's the avatar size around here?

Also, you guys don't have avatar auto-resizing? o_O

I think it's 100x100. And no, we don't. Not entirely sure why. I'm sure that your avatar can easily be re-sized manually, though.

Finally got the mobile fix pushed, so the website should stay our nice blue.

I feel that way, but I wasn't gonna say anything until there was some sort of consensus.
