Post by: Deathslayer1245 on August 10, 2012, 02:08:25 AM
I need someone to teach me how to add sprites to rpg maker 2003. Also it would be appreciated if they could tell me what program i need and the steps needed to do to make and then export the sprites. Thank you.

Find the folder called RTP. That is where all the games sprites/graphics are stored. To add character sprites, save the files into the charset folder. As for a
program, you can use ms paint for spriting.

You can also use RPGM2k3's import tool that's right next to the database icon.
Simply choose what type of resource you're gonna import and then pick the file.

When making sprites any program that saves it as a picture will do. Just remember that each resource have a set pixel-size and that the amount of colours can't exceed 256.

Oh, also, save any resource as a .png or a .bmp, because although .jpegs are smaller files, they add a lot of noise and ruin the resources.
