Title: Prpl_Mage's gamemaker games
Post by: Prpl_Mage on October 18, 2012, 10:52:00 PM
The topic title kinda gives it away.
These are the games I made with gamemaker for one or another reason.
Contests mostly I believe. Boredom is another possibility.
Gamemaker is kinda a great program. Even with the free version it offers a lot of excellent processes.
Only problem is that it saves stuff in Exe which many computers are kinda picky with. None of the files are corrupted as far as I know at least.

Games:
Tank defender : for the 2 day game making contest
(http://i48.tinypic.com/r22r8y.jpg)
Steer the tank to defeat all enemies before the reach the bottom of the screen, upgrade weapons and stuff!

Adventure game: For Ben's game contest ( I think)
Clear rooms of enemies with a spell-casting skeleton. Enemies gets harder but there are potions. You level up but it gives nothing.
One of those games that I just made really hard. Music by Dren.

Awesome RPG : also known as "Linear rpg"
Super linear game with a hero that can butterknife through enemies. Got an inn and a Shop and a level system that increases your stats.
Grinding and farming is a must (since it's so linear). Surprisingly captivating.

Looks like a good treasure of games. I'll be sure to link to this when I do the main page forum update.

Yeah, I'll play one of these when I get a moment. Which do you recommend prpl?

I used to use game maker, briefly. To be honest I reckon once you start trying to do complicated stuff in that you may as well just learn flash...

I'd recommend the adventure game. I think that one became the most accomplished.
The 2 day game was made in two games and uses a rather simple concept. The awesome rpg is basically something I did when I was bored one evening.
